Kansas Basketball Escapes The NCAA
Bill Self and the Kansas Men's BBall team have 5 Level I violations lowered. Michigan and Jim Harbaugh need to tell the NCAA to pound sand.

I think UM should fall on its “higher standards” sword and fire Jim, then take down the B1G championship banners. For cheeseburger benefits. Warde, make this happen!

Bulldoze the stadium.
October 11th, 2023 at 4:33 PM ^
But...but...but... CHEESEBURGERS! 🍔🍔🍔
October 11th, 2023 at 4:34 PM ^
We need to make them a strong ass offer. Or a strong, ass offer. Either way, Warde needs to offer them something strong, or offer his strong ass.
October 11th, 2023 at 4:56 PM ^
So much ass they overtake it.
October 11th, 2023 at 4:34 PM ^
I think it's fair to say that Self didn't buy Hunter Dickinson 2 cheeseburgers.
Hunter always orders 4 cheeseburgers.
October 11th, 2023 at 5:05 PM ^
And then immediately drops 2 of them...sorry, it's just reflex. I really should be better.
October 11th, 2023 at 6:21 PM ^
I'm okay with this joke now in a way I wasn't last year.
October 12th, 2023 at 1:14 PM ^
...drops 2 of them or clangs the trash off the garbage can rim.
October 11th, 2023 at 4:34 PM ^
Between this and Hunter Dickinson's transfer, I hope Kansas leans in and takes advantage of the opportunity to embark on, perhaps, the greatest heel season of all time.
October 11th, 2023 at 5:22 PM ^
What's going to be funny is they'll lose in the Elite 8 or something and KU fans and media types will act like it was a great tragedy instead of the natural culmination of this story.

I love/hate being the House Atreides of college athletics.
October 11th, 2023 at 5:02 PM ^
That would make OSU House Harkonnen. Yeah, I can see that. Big Nut is the Baron. Ryan Day was born on Arrakis and thinks he invented the Spice.

Out loud.

We are House Atreides. There is no call we do not answer. There is no faith that we betray

One of my long time fantasies is to see a huge sandworm swallow the shoe on a sunny football Saturday with all their fans, on national TV.

Holy cats what an incredible analogy.
October 12th, 2023 at 6:44 AM ^
fantastic analogy. this is the year that we nuke the shield wall and force the emperor to hand over the crown.
here is harbaugh getting the team 'bus' ready for the road trip to the big game.
and the second part of dune is to be released on 11/3. it is probably the only movie in 20 years that i really want to see in the theatre as soon as it comes out. loved the books, and the first part of this new version was outstanding.
October 12th, 2023 at 7:32 AM ^
The first part of the new version feels like 3 years ago. I'll have to rewatch it before seeing the 2nd part. The third part will be released about 4 years from now.
The time between sequel releases anymore is ridiculous.

hundreds of millions of dollars wagered on each film. if it flops, financial disaster. if it goes well, then gather all that financing up again, like a venture capital fund and it takes time. then gather actors, places to shoot, write a script, etc.
the only franchise that i recollect differently was the LOTR movies. IIRC they filmed almost continuously for 2 or 3 years.

The largest benefit of the super conferences is the elimination of the NCAA

October 11th, 2023 at 5:21 PM ^
The big lesson here being if you act like you don't give a shit about the NCAA they'll run away and hide. I guess that and the NCAA expects some places to cheat and others to be better and UM is unfortunately in the latter group.
October 12th, 2023 at 1:47 PM ^
So they are basically the monster from It? If you show you aren't afraid of them, the NCAA will wither away.
October 11th, 2023 at 5:24 PM ^
NCAA: you have multiple level one violations
Kansas: Go F@ck your self
NCAA: F@ck your Self? First of all he is YOUR Self. But if you have in fact done so, that constitutes Self-imposed sanctions. I think we are done here

The inmates are running the asylum.
At least the ncaa made them vacate some wins and final four appearances.
October 12th, 2023 at 7:34 AM ^
Only if you say you lied about it or serve a 4 game suspension for it.
Cheeseburgers are not allowed.

HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH
October 11th, 2023 at 5:40 PM ^
Does this mean we can stop bending over and spreading our hairy butt cheeks for the NCAA? Or no?

The ncaa doesn't have time for 5 Level I violations, they have burgers to investigate.
October 11th, 2023 at 7:05 PM ^
Maddening. The idea that these mugs cheated for decades and then the NCAA just threw up its hands and said, "Hey, let's make cheating legal! And let the gross inequality in these games continue, too!" makes me grit my teeth.
October 11th, 2023 at 7:11 PM ^
What a $urprise!!!
October 11th, 2023 at 7:53 PM ^
I hate the NCAA so much. They are a spectacular joke. I wish we would have given them a cheeseburger and the middle finger when they started asking questions about our program. I hope the Big 10 and SEC just form their own governing bodies so they can play by the rules that they set up instead of everyone pretending to play by the NCAA rules.
October 12th, 2023 at 10:13 AM ^
Do you really want to play by the rules the SEC makes? They are the absolute worst when it comes to bitching about rule-breaking when they no longer have an advantage because they had been doing it all along.
October 11th, 2023 at 8:04 PM ^
The only schools the NCAA can punish are the schools that allow them to.
Kansas is not one of those schools.
October 12th, 2023 at 7:36 AM ^
Michigan is.
I have to admit, though - I'm not convinced that Don Canham would have put up with a cheeseburger infraction considering everything going on around peer institutions.
