Kansas Basketball Escapes The NCAA
Bill Self and the Kansas Men's BBall team have 5 Level I violations lowered. Michigan and Jim Harbaugh need to tell the NCAA to pound sand.

LMAO. The NCAA is a joke…

We cannot be bullied by the NCAA. If they can ignore 5 level 1 violations for KU, then they should never tried to suspend Jim and our AD should never have kept him out of the first 3 games. This unbalanced and unfair penalty system has to end.

"We cannot be bullied by the NCAA."
LMAO!! You continue to believe that... Michigan has allowed itself to be bullied for decades. Stretchgate is a prime example. Satellite camps. Twitter-born defenses of the UM football program and players. Officiating robberies carried out in cold blood on nationally televised games. Fines. Institutional lack of penalties called on opposing teams. Scheduling.
Lets face it - if this is a power exchange relationship, Michigan is the submissive.

Not sure why this makes people so bad. KU self-imposed a five game ban on their head coach, and in the process avoided worse penalties. Michigan self-imposed a three-game ban on their head coach, and (so far) has avoided worse penalties. Seems like that strategy works -- glad Michigan chose it.
Why the outrage?

Totally agree. 5 game November suspension in basketball is pretty much the same as a 3 game September suspension in football! Maybe Kansas deserved more... probably!

Wait you guys agree what Harbaugh did was pretty much a wash with what Kansas basketball did? I get we have to have devils advocates in every thread but cumong people.

i don't know about outrage, but disgust at the fact that the KU coach is as corrupt as it gets in college hoops and caught red handed on an FBI wiretap. gets a 5 game suspension. meanwhile harbaugh forgot he tipped a waitress for 2 cheeseburgers with two recruits and he took a 3 game suspension. can you see why folks are disgusted with what is essentially the same outcome for two radically different 'violations'? it's like a bank robber getting the same fine as a jay walker. that's why folks are ticked.

Self-imposed ban on Level 1 violations (Kansas) is not even remotely comparable to Level 2 violations (Michigan). We're getting bent over by the NCAA, while others (that have committed serious violations) are telling them to pound sand and getting away with it. Sounds fair.
So, why the outrage? For fuck sake, why aren't you outraged?

Are you just assuming that years and years of blatant cheating is equivalent to what Harbaugh did?

That being said, KU is my second favorite program (both parents went there, I was born in the university hospital, and went my freshman year there, during which time I watched Danny Manning take his team to the Final Four before losing), so ...
... I'm obviously very pleased with this result.
Now, if it were Duke, I'd be PISSED. :-)

Just FYI Kansas is Duke lite to most of us. Hunter being a huge push to removing the lite status. Appreciate your honesty though. Unlike Michigan Realist not admitting to be Sabans biggest fan.
