Colors aren't ridiculous, the design is pretty sleek, and I like the 'endzone' stripe on the back of the helmet. That's a design detail that actually makes sense for the Vols and doesn't feel forced.
The major negative is that inexplicable swath of gray on the helmet, but maybe that looks better when you see the whole thing. Also, I don't like the two swooshes on the same side (shirt/pants). Seems redundant.
Maybe 7/10. Lower 7s.

I don't know enough to agree or disagree, but what do you think is the major barrier?

Genuinely curious about your insights into their recruiting of D-Ends and maybe how Michigan could be better at it.

As for Stewie, I'd like to have him on once. Though it would honestly lower the podcast's quality, it would also demonstrate why Brian, and the guys running team-specific blogs in general, can be so much better.

|2 weeks 2 days ago||Unlikely--but possible||
And just to build on that, when someone has a huge dropoff, there's usually a pretty good and fairly uncomplicated explanation. Big injury, etc. I'm honestly not sure what that is in Tiger's case, unless maybe it's a combination of smaller things without his dad there to keep him focused.
I think he could still squeak one out--and maybe more.

What do you see as the difference between showboating and getting a modern recruit's attention?
These days, I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Wangler, who missed his sister’s graduation for the game despite being cut from the team due to “a lot of errors,” utilized his time on the bench, planning the postgame refreshments and snack, manning DJ duties and keeping the team focused on the game.

Could you tell me more about what you do? Sounds pretty cush--huge expense account, plenty of 'sampling' opportunities, etc.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Brutal Schedule||
That 2 camps on Saturday in Florida--followed by a flight to Pennsylvania--is brutal.
No one will be able to fault Harbaugh for his effort, except probably Harbaugh. Incredible dedication and intensity, it must be said.

From the title, I was really impressed with your enthusiasm for fullbacks.

I was reading this in the midst of a powder room break, and it certainly sped the process along.

Might not be a function of the job, to be fair.

Brian's post on this topic seemed much more willing to trust the Seahawks due diligence.

Right hand raised into a a black power fist, look the guy dead in the eye, set the mouth into a firm, serious, and determined pursing of the lips--and respond "Go Blue."
Then let it all dissolve into a smile.

Outstanding way to show a commitment to education. Parents of athletes, many of whom likely admire Obama, will love this.

I remember an interview between them where he just couldn't stop loving the guy.

But generally, that's solid advice.

If that's the measure, probably not a good representation. Ton of things could go into that, including the publicity of the issue prior to the signing.
|12 weeks 3 days ago||Not About Playing Politics--Just Avoiding It||
Football should be free of politics, really. Sports in general are able to bridge differences because of their general appeal and lack of politics/religion/other things that people disagree about.

My problem with his tweet is that he conflated patriotism with liking the movie and its protagonist.

1. Yes, probably.
2. Just wondering.
|12 weeks 4 days ago||Bad Move; Weird Opinion; OP's Sourcing for Some Facts||
Football should be politics-free. As the face of Michigan Football, Jim probably has to sacrifice his personal expression. He makes it even worse with a weird opinion, conflating patriotism with loving American Sniper or its protagonist.
As for the OP, I wondered where (s)he found out that a minority of students were for or against the film's showing.

To be honest, I wasn't at all familiar with him, so this is precisely the kind of context I was talking about. As it was presented, however--both by the author and in the clip--it does come off as Bill being a jerk.
If you have another clip to help me get an idea of this 'style,' I'd appreciate it.
|21 weeks 12 hours ago||I don't get why this is awesome||
Bill comes off as a jerk, in my eyes. We hear that Welker is hurt. Bill sees some kid do a nice job. Later, Bill seems to taunt Welker.
I don't know if Welker is a slacker who needs tough love, for example, but absent that type of context, this didn't impress me at all.
I do want to say that the video itself was cool, but only in possibly showing how much of a sociopath Bill is.

"It's a great school, but it didn't have the same family atmosphere I felt at Western. I had a better connection at Western and (MSU) didn't offer, either."
