What did they do last year?
September 6th, 2013 at 1:50 PM ^
which is a hell of a lot more dangerous than using some bracelets.

But in reality I blame the referees. Why they couldn't have told Kelly to have the offenders thrown out and then started assessing unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on him if it didn't stop is beyond me.

ND had LED bracelets last year?

But have you seen how long they play the music over the speakers nowadays before the snap at big Michigan games? I'm not sure anyone follows that "gentleman's agreement" any more, including us.

It's an amplified live drum cadence right up until the snap and I found it very annoying after a while. They even did it when we had the ball. I'm surprised it's allowed after a team breaks the huddle. "Adds excitement" I guess. If it didn't rattle CMU it sure isn't going to affect ND.
I miss the old days when the crowd noise forced Ohio to take repeated time outs!

Sounds like someone has point envy.

The on-off switch on the bracelet controls the receiver, whether the LED is on is controlled by a signal sent out from a single location. You can turn it on and off all you want, but it will only light up if it is being told to do so.
Also, most everyone has a phone with a camera on it and nobody has ever coordinated mass flash photography during a game, so I don't know why this would happen even if you could control it.

It's all ball bearings nowadays.

I have to admit that I was curious as to how these would work. I know that they have done similar things at concerts close to what drewz05 is describing, where people wear the bracelet and it is tied to a program to make it work with the show, but obviously I am not sure if that's how it is being handled here.

Sadly I think it is.
And what's all this "points don't matter talk" about?

Fans cheering, making noise that way fine, shinning lights, blaring stadium music, not cool. I want to win, I don't want to cheat/bend/fudge the rules to do so.

It is. Look at the release from yesterday with all of the events and it is listed under "Pregame". I even got a new maize shirt to replace the one that fell apart in the wash.

I stopped at Mden at Briarwood earlier today, and they only had XL and above UtL shirts....maybe State Street will yield better results.

They should use some of that Ross money to hand everyone walking in a t shirt and if you don't wear it, get out. That'd be amazing to see.

I upvoted this thread because I thought you were joking...
then I got to thinking: how cool would it be if we could replace the wave with the lights of our phones?
cool eh?

If anyone on the Notre Dame offense is rolling, the glowsticks would distract them for hours.
September 6th, 2013 at 3:11 PM ^
when you just went to a game and cheered for your team. When you didn't need a pom pom, When you didn't need a flashing scoreboard to tell you when to make noise. When you could talk to the person next to you about the game during timeouts. When you didn't need a flashing bracelet to show your allegiance.
If you can remember these things, you probably still had a good time.
