1 day 20 hours ago What's the big deal?

I mean everyone defrauds people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever.

2 days 20 hours ago Yup

I had the NCAA Gamebreaker video game sometime in the mid-late 90s on the original playstation. The disc got scratched and all the audio was screwed up. Eventually the play-by-play was reduced to Keith Jackson yelling "WHOA NELLY" randomly throughout the games. It was perfect.

6 weeks 1 day ago Basketball

I don't like basketball. I grew up in a strange foreign land where we had no time for sports not played on frozen sheets of water, so I never played growing up and on my eighteenth birthday I'm sure I had seen fewer than five complete games in my life. I hop on the Michigan bandwagon come tournament time for the same reason you can find me watching the Softball World Series when Michigan is in that. Heading in to this tournament I knew the names of most of the Michigan roster, even if I thought Spike was black until I watched the VCU game.

Despite not actually following the basketball team, despite not liking the sport they play, every year when they're eliminated I find myself incredibly sad. Beilein has created such an enjoyable group of guys to cheer for. I loved watching this team for the past three weeks and am so upset it is over. I can't imagine how bad this must feel to anyone who has memories of the Ellerbe era or like, the regular season.

6 weeks 3 days ago Agreed

Well sadi.

7 weeks 3 days ago Damn

I agreed months ago to plans with my girlfriend that night. There is no way I can watch it live without ending our relationship. It's too bad, I really liked her.

16 weeks 4 days ago Well said

I like the cut of your jib.

24 weeks 4 days ago Yup

The Turco grip took my puck handling from a liability to a strength almost immediately. It's just absurd how much easier it is to use. Fully expect it to be nearly universal within a generation of NHL goalies.

26 weeks 5 days ago Denard

Back in the fall of 2010, I was at the worst point in my life and was just generally an all around depressed motherfucker who spent a shitload of time considering killing myself. One of the few things that got me through the practically intolerably long week was knowing that I got to watch three hours of Denard every Saturday. A lot of good things happened in the last few years and I'm fine now, but I'm honestly unsure I would have stuck around long enough to see them had it not been for Nard Dawg. So, I would like to extend the biggest most sincere thank you of my life to Denard.

WELL HERE IS THE BALL HERE!

30 weeks 3 days ago Ouch

I left work early to watch that game and was pissed off I used up personal time on that abomination. Can't imagine the feeling of having gone to Honduras to watch it.

Jake Ryan needs to wear #16 after Nard Dawg leaves.

1 year 1 week ago 1989

The ending to the 1989 English season was pretty fantastic, I recomnend everyone youtube it. Don't know if it was better than today, but I don't think I've ever witnessed anything better than today in sports.

1 year 2 weeks ago Same

Hello Nasty was my first and a Beastie Boys greatest hits was the second. On top of that, I used to steal my older brother's Ill Communication cassette all the time.

Anyway, to tribute MCA I feel like it would be solid for China to free Tibet today.

1 year 2 weeks ago Rugby Safety

Does anyone know if rugby is noticeably safer than american football especially later in life? Admittedly I've never seen any real stats between football and other sports that seem like they might be equally dangerous.

1 year 2 weeks ago Sorry

But, we can't accept what is going on in football. If the life expectancy of an NFL player is only 55 and those who make it past that age are usually crippled mentally and physically, that just is not acceptable. I love watching football, I've given up hours of my life every Saturday in the fall for years and been happy to do it since I can't think of anything more enjoyable. That said, I can't keep doing it much longer if the game does not become noticeably safer.

What about the New Day Coop? Marlo was always trying to muscle his way to the top of that thing.

1 year 3 weeks ago Manchester City Fan

Not going to make a prediction on Monday itself, but I'm almost postive City won't win the league. Doubt they take three at Newcastle and against United.

But, allow me to offer a defense of City's Arab oil money spending spree. The EPL was created as a selfish money grab by the top clubs who wanted to kick less money down the pyramid. Then money was consolidated again when the Champion's League was expanded and the top four teams got a huge chunk of money no one else got a share of. If you weren't a powerful club when these two changes happened, you were left behind. Look at the list of EPL champions, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Blackburn are the only teams to win it in twenty years. United and Arsenal were among the historic powerhouses who created the new financial system and are both coached by the best managers of the premier league era. Blackburn and Chelsea took the City approach of being bought by a rich guy who pumped a ton of cash into the team. Unfortunately, that's the only way for a team to go from midtable to contenders. Don't blame City, blame the system.

And what's with the United homegrown players thing I read a couple times in this thread? Giggs, Scholes, Welbeck, and Evans are the only academy products contributing at all this season. More than City, but it's not a lot.

1 year 4 weeks ago John L Smith's Reaction

We should have been in in the national contender picture with this hire. The AD hired me, he shouldn't have hired me! That's a dang athletic director mistake! The coaches are at the program coaching their tails off, and the athletic director is out there screwing it up!

Without discussing the Michigan side of the article, can we all just agree that ESPN running a huge expose on kids at the University of  Oregon smoking pot is beyond ridiculous?

1 year 5 weeks ago I had to have a tooth pulled

I had to have a tooth pulled the morning before the 2010 Ohio State game. I watched the game under some heavy vicodin influence. I am pretty sure I am the only person on this blog who was smiling uncontrollably during that entire game.

1 year 6 weeks ago Goalie

Don't know how you learned all of this strategy as a goalie. The only tactics I ever bothered learning was the breakout so I knew where I could blindly fling a puck when I needed to.

1 year 6 weeks ago The fact that Florida

The fact that Florida International University still exists means that this was one of the most succesful jobs Thomas has done in his post playing career.

1 year 7 weeks ago Exciting

Seeing him on the same team as JMFJ got me curious and it turns out Hunwick is only four months younger than him despite JMFJ's college career ending seemingly forever ago. Not sure if anyone else cares, but odd how college hockey can have two guys the same age and have one play through 2012 and the other through 2007.

He graduated in 1969, but was on the 1967 national title team. Perhaps my favorite player of all time in any sport. Dude took a year off in the peak of a Hall of Fame career to finish law school.

1 year 8 weeks ago See, I never just did things

See, I never just did things just to do them, c'mon I mean, what I'm gonna do just all of the sudden just jump up and grind my feet in somebody's couch like it's something to do? Come on, I got a little more sense than that. ...Yeah, I remember grinding my feet into Eddie's couch.
