Jamarco Jones Freep Article
I know I know -- I hate the Freep as much as anyone, and it pains me to link anything from them. But we're inside 24 hours before hearing on this kid, and I'm excited to see how it shakes out. http://www.freep.com/article/20130626/SPORTS08/306260021/recruiting-jamarco-jones-michigan-msu
Thanks, but I'm still not going to click the link.
It's actually by Tim Sullivan, who used to write for this blog.
Don't get too excited - recent insider stuff sounds like it's MSU.
Don't you mean the InterwUrbz?
Freep, but it's Tim Sullivan. So it's worth a click.
...if Jones chooses Michigan. Wouldn't mind another son of an NFL OL/Coach in Michael Grimm as an alternate. Either that or they remove Pallante's greyshirt. 2015 is already going to be a damn small class. Would also open up a slot for 2015 OL Chuma Edoga.
Grimm committed to Pitt about aweek ago.
...for him. Too bad.
Doesn't sounds optimistic. But there are two things that still lead me to believe we got a shot.
1.) Brady Hoke
2.) You're not going to not commit to Michigan after visiting campus
use correct grammar.
Perfectly allowable, understandble, and matter-of-factly, pretty standard. I dare say that his comprehension of the English language seems far superior to yours if we compare your comment to his (even with his stray "s" and the missing " 've").
The author of the article believes we are 3rd in a 3 school race. Not a good place to be.
The pertinent paragraph:
Despite the positives, Michigan may be playing from behind to MSU and OSU. That’s a shame, because Jones is a serious talent. Although he’s coming off shoulder surgery this spring, he is one of the strongest linemen in the Midwest – or even the country – when healthy. The 6-5, 285-pounder is mobile enough to play inside or outside on the offensive line, a versatility which has landed him distinction as the country’s No. 97 overall prospect.
on today"s recruiting round up says the only way we don't get him is if Jones is more worried about the depth chart than he says. Sam has MSU as the least likely. Says Michigan and OSU staffs did a great job connecting with his mom and MSU didn't. Said he would talk to Jamarco more today.
Steve Wiltfong sounded fairly pessimistic on 247 today. If Webb is actually talking to Jones, he's probably the most reliable source of anyone. It sounds like Jamarco has masterfully kept his recruitment a secret.
seem to be saying MSU lately but I think everyone is somewhere betrween 99 and 100% in the dark
Not going to break my no Freep ban until they admit how wrong they were. I simply don't care what they have to say until that happens.
There's nothing in that paragraph that indicates why we are behind...it just says that we are. This article would be a lot more useful if it explained that rather than just saying it. Based on the quote earlier in the article, it sounded like he enjoyed Michigan a lot.
(meant in reply to the above paragraph about us being behind)
It doesn't even say we're behind, it just says we "may be playing from behind." That guy doesn't know s*it.
I've seen some people claim this kid favors MSU, others say OSU, and once in a while someone will point to UM. I think it's pretty clear, I'm going to go ahead and call this one: Jamarco Jones will commit to the University of Illinois.
one imaginary internet dollar he picks us. Don't ask me why.
Because why not? We've gotten every other kid we've wanted.
What is the price of a soul these days?
I like Tim but this is obviously a weak piece.
but he should write for a better newspaper
I've been saying along he goes to MSU. (I'm not drunk)
I ignore freep links twice as much as the next guy, so you will have to click on it two more times for me.
i dont have enough points to post it but i am surprised no one is talking about SCott announcing this weekend...?
247 just bumped MSU and OSU to his Top 2. I think we can safely say we are out of this one.
It would have answered your question prior to your asking.
says not the good guys per this morning's RR after talking with Jones last night. Looks like the Buckeyes
...who are we filling our WR and OT spots with?
