Burke: Back
Light 'em if you've got 'em and praise any available deity or animal spirit. The official Michigan basketball feed:
Big News from Ann Arbor! Trey Burke will be continuing his collegiate career with U-M!
You may cease running in a circle. Here are some muppets.
And you can't have one without the other...
Woot.
UPDATE: Quotes via press release.
"Over the past few weeks, I have spent a lot of time thinking and praying about my future -- not just about next year but many years down the road," said Burke. "After gathering information, I am excited to be continuing my education at Michigan as we look to accomplish even more in our 2012-13 season.
"I have so much more to develop as both a student and athlete, and there is no better place to do that than here at Michigan. I love my Michigan family and am really excited about playing with my teammates and our incoming freshmen. I want to thank my parents, my teammates and my coaches for the patience and guidance they gave me since this process began a few weeks ago."
"We tried to provide Trey and his family with the best information possible and as much time as possible to make an informed decision," said U-M head coach John Beilein. "We wanted him to think this through carefully so he was 100 percent certain of what he wanted to do moving forward.
"We loved coaching Trey this season. It is very unusual to have a freshman point guard play with such poise and confidence all year long. He is a clutch performer with a great work ethic and a brilliant future in front of him. As our team leadership changes hands, I know Trey will join the other returning players as we strive to be the leaders and best in all we do."
UPDATE II: Just received this in my inbox from Mark Hollis.
Ur heart are stupid
And glad that he seems happy to be staying. The NBA will be there waiting for you, Trey. For now, let's dominate the B1G next year. I really cannot wait to see the athleticism that we'll be able to put on the floor next year, and with Trey running the show, things are looking great.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant wait for next season!
Can not wait to see all this talent on the floor together next. They are going to be awesome!
BBall reboot continues unabated. Sky's the limit again, homeslices
Another year as a student will help him mature and prepare him a little bit more for life after basketball, whenever that is. Even if he has a great NBA career and goes into the Hall of Fame, he still will be done playing by his mid- to late-30s. As athlete after athlete has shown lately, there's nothing preventing these guys from running through their millions before they're 50, and Trey needs to learn a lot to ensure this doesn't happen to him.
Absolutely huge. We're now one of the favorites to win the B10 and a legit threat to make a really serious tournament run. Last year was great no doubt, but we've got the potential to do much, much more this time 'round.
TREY MUPPETS > TREY SONGZ
But of course you already knew that.
We can all put away the seppuku blades... At least those of us who aren't Bosox fans in the throes of massive 3 game overreaction....I guess that would be all of them. Go Blue.
Well that makes me smile today...Now we can look forward to basketball season with tremendous anticipation and not so much anxiety! Go Blue
to all those people who were bashing Coach B and Trey - particularly those who tweeted Trey shit after the leaving rumours --"I hope you all get 1st and minor 2nd degree burns in a fire" (NEW PC version!!)
This is a game. I hope and believe this was the best decision for Trey, but it was his decision. If your day/week/life is ruined because a kid goes pro you need to take a serious look at yourself.
Warning -- If the team performs as anticipated next year, Trey WILL be gone as will most likely one or 2 of the Hardaway, GRIII, McGary group. Please begin bracing yourself for this now.
Next ....didn't Sam Webb mentione there was an elite 2013 big man out of Chicago that was interested in UM even before we had spots available??........
Thank you, big baby jesus.
and I can tell you with 110% certainty.....there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with you.
News caused me just to walk out for the day.
Wow, what a great birthday present. Thanks Trey.
THE PTA HAS NOT DISBANDED!!!!!!
This decision puts Trey Burke very much in the running for "my favorite Michigan basketball player of all time" status (which I know is very important to him /s).
I have a feeling this is just the start of a GREAT week for Michigan sports. Although I'm not willing to stake my posting abilities on it.

Dear Trey,
We take back all those shitty things we said about you.

Dear Trey,
All of us who said you had no reason to come back because your stock wouldn't go up anymore, you wouldn't get any taller, you wouldn't get any quicker, and your game couldn't improve are going to be consistent and say you really made a bad decision by coming back for another year. Or not.

Time to get my Final Four tix for next year.....
If we could make it to the Final Four, it would set this program on fire.
Good by Burke. I think he'll wind up going pro early, but this was not the year nor the draft for him to take a shot. I wish him the best, but his game needs to improve offensively for his physical limitations to be minimized, and hopefully another year with Beilein will make that happen.
GOODBYE BURKE?
RECOMMENCE PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!!!!!!!!
Can we take a minute to drool...
PG: Burke, Albrecht
SG: Vogrich\ Stauskas
SF: Hardaway Jr., GR3

Looks real nice
you nailed it.
Fantastic news.
Now Sparty can go back to not caring about Michigan.
to not caring about Sparty.
Congrats on the smart decision Trey. Now un-pack and get to class!
Brian, I can't believe you didn't put [GOOD] in the title.
Wise decision for Trey's pro career and Michigan.
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
What would you all have done?
wow i dont think i've been this excited by a single decision from an [19 year old] kid in a very, very long time. obviously great news for michigan basketball faithful, but more importantly, i think it was the right choice for him and the extra year of development should bode well for his future success in the NBA. its great when the best interests of the university and of the student athlete align.
No Kate Upton gif? I thought they were allowed for moments of great joy? (If I knew how to embed it, I would do it).
We don't want to be redundant.
We don't want to be redundant when it comes to Kate Upton? Speak for yourself, muchacho.
True. Speaking for myself, when it comes to Kate Upton, I would do it over and over.
And over and over.
And over and over.
