Yea I'm not a Beilein fan either.
I don't like coaches who are teachers first, who play the game the right way, who run clean programs, who install a "next man up" mentality amongst his players, and who have won at every coaching stop he's ever been.
It's faily apparent that Michigan will be his last coaching stop. Phew. I can't handle anymore of this winning.
|1 week 4 days ago||I believe the draft class to||
I believe the draft class to be lackluster due to a lack of guys who I see one day becoming perennial all-stars. Sure, this class will have its gems as all do, but from top to bottom, especially looking at the top 15 picks, I just don't see it being very strong. Take a look at drafts from the last twenty years and IMO you'll see more talent.
So I'm saying that after 60 games of 1 season, it's nice to see THJ and Trey being valued so highly. But in other years, IMO, I believe you could pick a top seven that would far and away be better than what the 2013 class presents. Obviously time can proove me wrong.

Watching THJ this year has been a lot of fun. I'm not really an NBA guy, but I am a New Yorker and have watched more Knicks game this year than ever before because of THJ. He's been a great spark off the bench for a team that, well, sucks.
Having said that, I think we can all agree that last year's draft was faily lackluster in overall talent. It's showing to be on the weaker side of the draft class spectrum. However, it's still great to see our guys doing so well.

Tonight started early for you, huh?
|2 weeks 5 days ago||Where are you Charlie?||
Probably still celebrating out in Mother Russia.
But as OP said, Charlie has posted here a few times.. Make yourself known Charlie, let us shower you in all the glory that is fake internet poiints.
Congrats again and Go (Red, White and) Blue!

And gotta say I love. Excited to watch this game and reminisce on old times.

As soon as he took the shot, I screamed "No Trey!" Had about 1% confidence in anything good happening. Thank you, Trey, Timmy, and the rest of MBB for a wild ride.

You are putting words in my mouth that was never said or even implied. Well done!
Are we not allowed to say that the coaches missed on a player ever? If said player goes to another school, its always because that school paid him, allows him to skip class, etc?
No, I said none of that. I am simply stating that this was a big miss. I still have faith in our coaches and our team. We will be fine. But none of that dismisses the fact that we are missing out on a great athlete. I don't know what we could have done differenlty, possibly nothing at all.
I wish Malik the best, and hopefully this doesn't permanently ruin relationships with his parents. Go Blue.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||I agree||
I don't "blame" the coaches for not getting MM to commit to Michigan, but nevertheless this is a big miss. IIRC, he grew up a huge Michigan fan, and his family's preference was well documented.
Maybe the prior season's records could have helped. Who knows. But it's a big miss and a big gain to one of our rivals.

D. Green will probably compare to Barry Sanders, A. Peterson, and Jim Brown.
But shiftier, faster, and stronger.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Big Loss||
Whether we want to admit it or not, this is a big miss for the coaching staff.
I'm not upset with how we've recruited whatsoever as the coaches have put together some great classes. And I'm in no way giving up on these coaches, I still believe they can and will succeed. But we can't sugar coat this after missing out on both Hand and MM.
Hopefully they put the full court press on KLS, Jashon Cornell, and Alabi, Settle, whoever. The "change to play early" selling point may not be too much of a stretch now.

Barwis is a trainer for strength and conditioning purposes, while the athletic trainers employed by the Mets may help in those areas but are primarily certified health care professionals who have degress in sports medicine.
My point still stands. The Mets' athletic trainers made mistakes, along with their communicating with management and the players. But I am happy the Mets are simply training with Barwis because we've seen the great things he has been able to do with our football players.

Care to elaborate on some examples (of course leaving out kids names, but maybe include what level prospect and maybe some of the schools that have recruited the student)?
I'd love to know what type of input and suggestions you normally give as well. It definitely irks me that the players can leave class to talk with coaches. I get that coaches may be on tight schedules when the come to a student's school, but I would hope that they coaches would work around the student's schedule while, you know, he's in school.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||Great read||
When they announce the line ups in Queens, the training staff almost always gets booed by the Mets faithful because of a major mishandling of injuries back in the mid to late 2000s. This was a combination of an inept medical staff and obvious miscommunications between the players, staff, and management. So much so that the players would go beyond the team's back to receive their medical opinions just because of the terrible past surrounding the team's training staff.
Needless to say, as a Mets fan I am happy that the players are working with one of the best in the business for this upcoming season.

He's had some "issues" predicting the seeding, regions for each team, and other items like that, but the guy is pretty damn good and predicting who makes the tournament and who doesn't. He nailed last year's field, which wasn't the first time he got them all correct.

WWE style body slam? Or just regular body slams?

Glad the offer was finally made.
|7 weeks 5 days ago||Agree with this here||
Rivalries are in the eye of the beholder. Most of us here don't care about UNC/Duke, Auburn/Bama, etc. This list (as all lists of this sort) is purely based on history, regional significance, etc. The fact that the Yankees and Red Sox have two of the largest five fanbases in the MLB, have played in some epic games, and have a heated history is why they deserve to be on this list. And as much as I'm not an ESPN supported, I don't think they warrant any blame for this.

A buddy of mine spent two years in Ukraine with the Peace Corps. Ukrainians despise "THE Ukraine." The country is just Ukraine, no "the" needed. Reminds them of when they were in the USSR and not independent, plus they hate Ohio.

So much talent in Cuba. Next is restoring relations with the US, which will be followed by all the cigars! And taking a trip to Havana and the Cuban resorts is high my list. My Canadien friends have all gone and they say its an amazing place. Very cheap and still stuck in the 50s.

and with Jake almost back, it should continue to improve. Our defense will be solid throughout. Games where I can see the defense needing the offense to also play well to get the win would be vs Northwestern and Ohio (would have included Nebraska, but their defense continues to look like a JV squad)

Though he knew he made a great play, he simply aid he was doing what he was coached to do. Stay hungry Jehu, that first TD is coming soon.
|25 weeks 5 days ago||Ha||
It's a shame those "really bad players" will never get a chance to face this bum. Yes, the 3-3-5 didn't help GERG's cause, but it's not like anything else he did while he worked any better. Brown and co. will be out at Texas soon enough.

I guess Texas is throwing in the towel already...
