“I applaud the guy,” Fisher said today about Harbaugh’s decision to have his football team spend spring break at IMG Academy in Bradenton. “He’s doing things he has to do to be successful. Jim beat the rules. That fine. I applaud Jim for trying to do something different.”

“I started thinking – We can’t speak on their campus during the evaluation period and they’re allowed to practice there when no coaches are allowed to be out (recruiting)?” Fisher said. “Don’t tell us we can’t speak at a clinic there but they can practice.”

Fisher, though, does not believe that Michigan will gain any kind of recruiting edge off four practices in Florida. “No, I don’t,” he said. “They’ll get some players. Michigan always came to Florida and got players.“I promise I lose no sleep over it.”

Jimbo Fisher is one of the last people I would listen to when it comes to abiding to laws and rules.

"Jim beat the rules"...It's not beating the rules if it's allowed, Michigan has done nothing wrong. The southern schools are just upset that a northern power is starting to come into their terriotory.

Michigan is not breaking any rules, that's for sure.  But I still think what Jimbo is saying is fair.  Let's not get carried away with the phrase "beat the rules".

No one thought about football making these trips before, hence Harbaugh beat the rules".  Again, Jimbo is saying he applauds with Harbaugh is doing.  He's not disrespecting him at all.

Jim H works within the system and finds ways to exploit it for the betterment of all (satellite camps, no doubt, help many players get looks from coaches they never would have previously among other benefits). Jimbo says, "screw the rules, I'l break em and they can try to stop me."

Jimbo would whore out his sick child if it meant he could land players.

Between this reasoned comment and taking out an ad congratulating Frank Beamer on his career I'm starting to think he isn't actually the devil.

Granted the possible covering up of sexual assault and the constant condoning of the disgusting behavior that seems to go on at that school make me think he might still be the guy who gets the devils dry cleaning.

Jimbo Fisher is basically as trustworthy as a slimy used car salesman. Can't stand that guy and his shameless cover-ups. He plays naive southern guy who backs up his players but everyone knows he's sitting on a landmine playing stupid.

Probably one of my least favorite coaches in all of FBS. Probably even beneath Urban

If I'm a player in HS, do I want to be coached by a guy who is going to take my team on a vacation over spring break where: We'll practice some, learn a lot, go to the beach, watch spring training, and be the topic of national conversations OR a guy named Jimbo who thinks I should sit in my dorm or go home to Jersey?

Can someone explain to me how Harbaugh "beat the rules"?  This is a common observation - one usually made with a southern accent.  Can anyone legitimately claim that Harbaugh is bending let alone breaking a "rule" with a week of practice in FL?

had to say. Paul Johnson said it wasn't fair to the players, said his guys wouldn't be happy if he took them to Destin, FL for spring break. Nice perspective there from GT.

He is certainly working his own angle, while throwing a little shade. He needs to compare apples and apples though. Yes, Michigan is allowed to have spring practice at IMG. So is his team. He is not allowed to speak at an event at IMG. neither is Harb. He twists the dialogue to make us believe he's comparing the same thing. His side show, vaudeville parlor trick might work in Alabama. Sorry, seen that trick before and know whats behind the curtain.

He was the coach who said Michigan couldn't compete against SEC schools when it came to recruiting the south and we were # 4 in the nation. He also said something negative about lack of H.S. talent up North. He's comical and I predict that he will eat his words one day soon.

1st of all would somebody please get some shout and try to remove that COVER-UP stain off his FSU jacket. And secondly he is boohooing about not being able to speak at IMG (recruits)

as if its even the same thing as practicing there.
