OT - Arizona making Sparty look like choir boys
This came up on my Twitter feed and it's a doozy. Seems like Arizona football has more than a couple swell guys on the roster who (allegedly) decided to go all Sparty and beat women. This one sounds a good amount worse than the potluck showdown in East Lansing. I have a feeling that they won't be dealt with in a Dantonio manner:
Yikes... an ugly event for sure. I hope this doesn't slow Rich Rod down in his efforts. I don't know the caliber of the players involved.
It might actually speed up the rebuilding process. He gets a chance to set the tone for discipline, gets the chance to rid himself of some dead weight, and can move forward after making a strong statement (if he indeed does so).
MSU, where second chances get second second chances, so long as you contribute.
How's Stonum doing these days?
All I can think is that RichRod just can't catch a break...
I'm pretty sure Rodriguez will deal with these players swiftly and justly. But on a side note, after reading that article, there are going to be a LOT of women over the next few days who are going to be defending their boyfriends in the next few days. "I know I have a black eye, Daddy, but I swear my boyfriend's not beating me!" Yeesh. The only woman I've ever known of who deserves to be punched in the face is Casey Anthony.
exactly. while there's a lot of disagreement on this board about RR and his coaching abilities, he always was a strict disciplinarian at UM.
Clearly none of you every payed attention to his record at wvu, he was notorious for giving things like 1st quarter suspensions to his starters if they committed a violation before a big game. He did a good job at Michigan and I think that reflects the culture here but richrod does not have a long record as a strict disciplinarian
could be a strict punishment depending on the violation. I think you need to present more facts.
I think Lorena Bobbitt probably deserved to be punched as well.
Wasn't Lorena Bobbitt's whole thing that she didn't really appreciate getting punched?
I don't remember exactly what provoked her, but I can't imagine that it was anywhere near as bad as cutting a dong off.
Allegedly it was a long history of domestic abuse capped off by being raped and roughed up, so....
Truth be told, if anyone had a cause to do that, it was her.
This lady, on the other hand:

She was mad that he wanted a divorce.
No religion. No politics. No dong chopping.
Motion carries.
That is still nowhere near as bad as slicing a man's penis off.
I'm assuming this is coming from a person who has never been raped and physically abused over a long period of time.
Also, I don't view rape as equal or worse than dismemberment(which I assume you haven't experienced either).
Bobbit getting his bone sawed off, paid off nicely. He argueably doubled his stature, made some quality wholesome movies and is pretty wealthy now since his wang got removed. But i would not trade places for him for any amount of money/hookers.
Those actresses on his video weren't hookers. They were temporarily displaced thespians paying their way through their 5th year of community college.
The Blood countess needed a punch or 2 in my opinion.
I would also gladly punch Nancy Grace in the face.
she is, undeniably, a very difficult test case.
Thanks, Magnus. The board really needed a "when is it actually okay to punch women in the face, and who should be that face?" discussion this morning.
You're welcome.
Tomorrow morning, look for my thread on "When is it okay to hit another man in the nuts?" and then "When is it okay to run over your neighbor's pet?"
"When is it okay to run over your neighbor's pet?"
Hey, that was an accident.... The cat just came up behind my car. Am I ever going to live that down??
The problem arose when you put your Ford Festiva back in drive and ran over it again. It's okay to have an accident, but don't be a dick about it.
Damn... you saw that?
A double smackdown is permissible so long as the Russian judge scores it well, judges....
I've doubled back before just to make sure there wasn't any unnecessary suffering.
Judge Snyder? He's had it out for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog... only replace the word "kinda" with "repeatedly", and the word "dog" with "son"
You win the comment thread! Case closed
Acceptable if being filmed for others to laugh at.
It works on so many levels.
Sean Connery doesn't see why this story is such a big deal.
NSFW language.
But undeniably hilarious
Work is going to be conducted from behind my desk all day.
I think this goes without saying, but this is a time where RR really needs to take a stand early in his tenure there. I can't see him dealing with this like Groucho Mark would.
Yeah, I tried to avoid the RichRod mention in the OP, but I'm sure he'll drop some heavy discipline on those kids. For his many faults, lack of discipline was not an issue. He'll handle this well.
Hope Rich Rod gives these guys the Feagin treatment. Assuming they're guilty, of course. The first season is always lost under Rich Rod anyway; it's just a matter of how fast and high he can turn it around.
Arizona maybe pushing TCU's lead in the EDSBS Fulmer cup after this incident....
Can an old fashioned woman-punching spree really catch up with federal drug charges?
Now I'm picturing this whole thing going down like an old silent move. Guys dressed up in old timey clothing with waxed mustaches and rag time piano playing in the background.
Probably not.
While Auburn's 81 points are far and away the record, the TCU score this year is already the second highest number. I'm thinking that these arrests will put Zona into second place given that there was assault(s) and multiple players arrested. I'm guessing that they will be around 15 points (depending on bonus points). That's still not even close to the 37 points that TCU has.
