I don't think we disagree all that much, if at all, Rabbit. I was offering other details that had remained unmentioned that I think may inform some people's opinion on the "selfishness" of the decision. Whether right or wrong, I just happen to think that is part of the calculus for some.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||I have a sneaking suspicion, Brian||
that some of the discomfort you feel with McCaffrey's decision stems from the fact that his family is already wealthy. A guy who had very little if any family wealth holding himself out for the draft feels very different than a guy who comes from a family already worth millions. The stakes are different, even if that's just a small variable in the calculus of the decision

Assuming when you say "half of Watson's threes came from beyond the arc" you meant half of Watson's shots...
Yes, I am that guy.
Thanks for the preview. Nice easy reminder that once football is done, there will be other things to focus on. Not that I want football to end any time soon...

You realize that if you were in college in the late 80s, then it was your generation giving out the participation trophies to all, right? It's not the kids fault that the parents decided to do that

Looking forward to deeper insight all season, Dave. Thanks man!

She's testing you to see if you'll reject her for not being like you. Watch games with her. Cheer for Michigan, and when OSU is on, let her cheer for OSU without any ribbing. Give her the safety to know that you'll accept her no matter what, and even if she doesn't end up rooting for M, she'll at least know that you have her back even when you two disagree

My wife and I got married at Matthei Botanical Gardens. Outskirts of the city, beautiful, and decently priced. Options for catering have to be on an approved catering list, but there are some excellent choices. And they won't serve liquor there (only beer and wine). While that's a deal breaker for some, it saved us a ton of money

They wanted him to keep playing for them, but had to schedule over him because of...we'll say unreliability.

These posts (and the gifs) have been a great read all year. I'm reduced to listening to many of the games on the radio, and while I love Al's enthusiasm, he leaves quite a bit to the imagination.
I really hope that Brian is paying you extra for these posts this year, given the sheer number of goals to analyze. Excellent work again, and thank you sincerely for your dedication to hockey coverage on here! It fills a little the hole left in my heart after the blogging retirement of yostbuilt

Yeah...Allen Trieu and Sam Webb were talking about it on Friday. Sounds like he committed to Loeffler, so his staying with VaTech probably depends on what happens with him. No idea if M is interested anyway, but figured it was a fun fact

I believe M is also recruiting the Saline FB as a preferred walk on, and the Saline QB is the son of Fred Jackson (committed to VaTech currently)

Your timeline is wrong on Battle. He committed, Langford asked if there was still room for him if he were to also commit, the staff said no and Langford subsequently committed to MSU. It wasn't until after Langford committed to MSU that Battle decommitted.

I'm glad that we are in agreement then. I said that instead of being political, what was said by another poster that unions being responsible for eliminating 14 hour work days was "pretty historically accurate". Notice that I made no arguments about what Harbaugh said or the current state of unions. Instead, I made a limited comment about historic implications, with which you apparently agree given your statement that "unions once were much more significant than they are now". So, bygones?

Professions and trades are different. I'm a lawyer, I know about working 80+ hour weeks. But please, keep lecturing with examples that have nothing to do with my initial, very limited point. And maybe read up on labor relations in this country's history.
