Feel your pain. We bought a place in Plymouth near the peak of the market (2004-ish) for $300K. We were planning on staying in Michigan forever. Ended up doing a fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. My in-laws decided to then leave for LA...thus my wife had no more family ties, so we kept our place in Plymouth for a year on the off-chance we would return after fellowship. Long story short: our house did not appraise, either. We rented out the place for three years, and sold it last year. Tips: 2) Change your insurance policy to cover yourself for liability; LLC for liability may be overkill 3) Contact your city tax office: once it's a rental you lose your homestead exemption (and taxes go up) 4) Keep records! For tax purposes, rental income - (mortgage & taxes & management fees & expenses & depreciation) = taxable income. 5) Learn more about depreciation. Pain in the arse, but helpful when you sell the place. If you are still underwater at the estimated price of the home at the time of declaration that it is a rental, when you sell (as we were), for a declared rental property, the loss is deducted from your earned income and NOT a capital gain. PS Find a professional for taxes, do your own dilligence, yada yada GL! |

As opposed to the parity in La Liga (Barca, Real, and every once in a while Valencia or Athletico before they get raided by the big 2), Bundesliga (Bayern, Dortmund, and everyone else), League 1 (PSG and everyone else)? All the European leagues are top-heavy. If anything the EPL has more top teams (United, Chelsea, now City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool) with big wallets than the other leagues. Which is even more of an accomplishment for SAF. The thing that makes SAF hard to compare to is longevity; you aren't going to see a manager in the same spot for that long anymore. Him, Wegner are atypical now. The Ancellottis/Mourinhos/Guardiolas are going to be the trend now. |

Absolutely zero reason for Guardiola to leave Bayern. They are absolutely loaded, and with Goetze and possibly Lewandowski joining this summer, they are getting even younger. FC Hollywood is going to be obliterating the Bundesliga for years to come, and if they stay healthy, will be a perennial favorite in the UCL for at least a couple of years as well. If anything, the pressure will be on Pep NOT to tinker too much. |

SAF will be missed; last year especially; there was absolutely no reason for United to finish 2nd, with all the injuries and their makeshift midfield, they were lucky to finish in a Champion's League spot, let alone tied with City and losing the title on goal differential. Wish he was able to keep Pogba, though. Moyes would be a good fit, Mourinho doesn't seem to offer the stability (he only stays a few years) that United seeks. |
