Love to see our guys produce in the NFL. Metellus' 6 round rookie deal was worth about $3.5m in total for 4 years, now he'll be making $6.5m per year with the Vikings.

Michigan was dead in the water the minute Dwayne Haskins set foot on the field.

How "textbook Michigan" was it that OSU's starting QB goes down with an injury when OSU is trailing late in the game, and then the backup comes in, we're all thinking this is Michigan's chance to steal a win, and all the backup QB does is light Michigan's hopes and dreams on fire? If Barrett had stayed in that game, its more likely that OSU would've lost. Not certain, but certainly more likely.

Sigh.....those were some dark days.

Good news though, that was the moment that set in motion the beginning of The Burrow Curse.

Dwayne Haskins comes in that game and wins the day.  That leads to Day and Meyer choosing Haskins over Burrow as the starter the next season and from there the rest is history and The Burrow Curse gets kicked into full gear.  Which leads us to today.

We lost the day, but in the long run the totality of that event might be much worse for OSU.  They literally sent the greatest QB they ever had packing because of Haskins sub into that game.  And the domino effect since that moment has been devastating for OSU and it continues to haunt them to this day.

I will literally go as far and say what happened that day was a good thing.

Kind of an inverted Wally Pipp.

The thought of Joe Burrow playing for OSU in 2018 and 2019, when OSU finally switched to an offense more suited for his skills....and with the crop of receivers OSU had....there's almost no way OSU doesn't win a national title with him at the helm.

Granted, Haskins and Fields were far from slouches. Both became first round picks and lit up the scoreboard at OSU. But with Burrow, OSU wins at least one national title between 2018 and 2019. Their defense may have still held them back in 2018, but Burrow would've absolutely gotten them over the top in 2019.

And that sends shivers down my spine.

Well OSU absolutely had a defense in 2019, because that was the Chase Young one man wrecking crew that year. Their 2018 defense was a total sieve minus the Michigan game (go figure) but couple their 2019 defense with Joe Burrow leading the offense, with being able to throw to Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Austin Mack and Benjamin Victor...yeah they would've won it all that year. I don't think any of those guys individually are as good as JaMarr Chase or or Justin Jefferson, but as a group, they probably provide just as much firepower.

LSU would've been completely out of the picture that year, Oklahoma would've still fizzled out in the semi-final because they can't defend, and Burrow would've been the difference for OSU in a game vs. Clemson.

Can't imagine how awful that would've been, going into that offseason having to watch OSU hoist another national title trophy, claim another Heisman winner, and Michigan limps into the offseason, once again, with far more questions than answers.

And then imagine Burrow with 1-2 Heisman's, 1-2 Championships going to the NFL and lighting it up and becoming the greatest QB ambassador OSU ever had.

They made his OC, Ryan Day, Head Coach.  You can't tell me Day didn't play a role the decision to go with D. Haskins.  Amazing.

This one event is going to make them go crazy.

Per ESPN, he one of the Vikings' captains (special teams).  Apparently also going to see more looks on defense when Brian Flores utilizes a 3 S look in the secondary.

I think they're priming for a rookie QB contract, building the team around that money coming off the books.

Recently more teams have been exposed by wasting too much of the 4-5 year window, I think the Bears could end up in that boat. Unless your guy is elite, you're now paying Daniel Jones $40m and have accomplished nothing while he was rent controlled.

Turned Special Teams excellence, being a great teammate and willing to do anything for the Vikings into life changing money.

The fact that he was not a high pick or "Star" paved the way for humility and earning his due.

All around good dude.
