I don't blame him if he wants to leave but if he's going to Texas (which are the rumors), it should be noted they've sent fewer WRs to the NFL compared to UM since Harbaugh's arrived. Obviously you're banking on Sark in that circumstance but it's not like they're a factory in terms of properly utilizing highly-recruited WRs.

Well, If I'm going to be underutilized and frustrated playing WR, I'd rather be a young man playing in Austin with Texas weather and women.
I mean, if that's your criteria I'd rather be at USC/UCLA or the U, but to each his own.
To each his own, indeed. I remember watching the Vince Young Rose Bowl and thinking the Texas cheerleaders were miles ahead of the fabled "Song Girls."
If you're going to bang a song girl, apparently being a walk on equipment manager is the way to go.
I mean, okay, but how is that different now than it was a few months ago when he signed?
Well, in the earlier thread Seth said this :
"It was in an ITF. I don't know any more than that except I don't think UGA has anything to do with it (via my UGA guy). Texas guy says Sark's desperate for receivers and throwing big money to solve his problem."
So there it is.
Texas has sent only one fewer WR to the NFL draft since Harbaugh has coached at Michigan. So the guy is leaving from one school that doesn't put a lot of WRs into the NFL to another school that doesn't put a lot of WRs into the NFL. But, he is going to a school coached by a guy who just coached the Heisman-winning, first round NFL draft pick, wide receiver Devonta Smith. So...
That's cool but a dumbass reason to go to texas..
Bama has elite talent across the board.. remember all the Bama coaches we have had or have who aren't good when they have to actually coach up players?
Sarkisian will fail at Texas too
If you are responding to my comment I was being facetious.
Sure. At the same time Sark didn't send a single WR to the NFL from his time at USC or Washington, so I wouldn't necessarily assume that the guy who was at Alabama, with Alabama's entire "Alabama"-ness, will be able to replicate that success elsewhere.
I don't blame him if he wants to go where the admissions office doesn't fuck you over, and (allegedly) Steve Sarkisian brings the 'Bama way (i.e. $) to Texas.
Question for you Lakeyale13, why do you come on here all the time? This clearly upsets you. Harbaugh's not going anywhere for the season. If this is such a constant source of anger, why not take the year off?
This is such a curious comment. What of any of my posts on this thread would lead you to believe I'm angry? I simply stated that I wouldn't want my kid (if I had one that was a Top 10-15 WR) to go play at Michigan. That is an incredibly understandable and rational position to take. I would rather him play where there is QB talent, coaching and development.
All those things you cite as reasons you'd steer your own child away from Michigan football were in existence LONG before Worthy signed his LOI.
They are not the reasons he won't be attending Michigan. For those, fans of Michigan football must look within ?

Couldn't enroll early and now appears he can't enroll at all. What do you think?
April 15th, 2021 at 12:57 PM ^
He's been listed as an "Undergraduate LSA student" on the U of M directory since mid-February so that's definitely not it. Seems like he just got upset that he couldn't enroll early enough for spring ball
Is that really a legit reason to decommit considering he was likely to make the 2-deep and possibly start from day one whether he enrolled early or not.
Likely to crack the two deep? Debatable. Bell, Cornelius, Henning, and Sainristl were always getting many of the targets this year. Anthony and Dixon were solid in spring ball according to eyewitness accounts. This will sting worse in 22 and 23 if they don't find another speed demon.
No, it's beyond debate.
Worthy is better than anyone on the roster, and it's really not close!
I'm not sure I would say he is "better than anybody on the roster". I think Bell has a pretty good shot at getting drafted, and C. Johnson looks like a hit in terms of his development.
I think he was the most promising receiver in our class though, for sure and would have got time as a freshman. I think by projecting a standard level of development he is an NFL talent. Really fucking sucks to lose him.
Yes bluem, yes it does.
So when you see a thread asking why Michigan no longer wins B10 titles, please recall this & comment appropriately.

This is an example of why Michigan will probably never be an elite football program. Worthy could’ve been on campus already, early enrolled.
You think something like this would happen at OSU? Bama? Clemson? I don’t.
April 15th, 2021 at 12:42 PM ^
I think it's got more to do with the coaches.
April 15th, 2021 at 12:47 PM ^
Explain how.
I think the coaches are more important that the players. I'm not trying specifically to blame the coaches for Worthy not being here. I'm just saying that Michigan not being an elite program has more to do with the coaches than the players, but it definitely isn't all column A or all column B.
The guy would be practicing with the team and eating lunch at South Quad right now if admissions had let him in. I don't think our coaches have a damn thing to do with that.

“Due to circumstances not under my control”. Jeezus I hope we pulled very string on this.
April 15th, 2021 at 12:51 PM ^
Someone help me out here, If he signed a NLI doesn't that mean he got accepted into the school? And if he didn't, why does he need out of the NLI he signed?
April 15th, 2021 at 12:55 PM ^
Not being able to "enroll early" and not being able to enroll are two vastly different scenarios. I haven't heard a thing (happy to be corrected if I am wrong) that suggests Worthy wasn't able to enroll at Michigan. It was "enrolling early" that posed a challenge from what I read.
I have to believe that busting his ass to graduate early was a lot of work. When admissions rejected his early enrollment, that probably left a really bad taste in his mouth. Add his close friend leaving and I could see why he wants to just be done with the university.
This sounds like the best answer. He got in, but busted his ass to position himself for early enrollment, and he was not given that.
Does this guy work for our admissions department? Something sounds hostile there....

Michigan doesn’t aspire to be a “football factory”. Fans should know this by now.
April 15th, 2021 at 12:51 PM ^
Yes, but is that what was required here? I don't ask that as a rhetorical question. I don't know the answer. Do we have the details?
April 15th, 2021 at 12:53 PM ^
That's fine...I can accept that...just tell your Dad / Uncle to actually monitor recruiting and not leave massive holes all over the roster. We don't need to be a powerhouse, but it's inexcusable for a team like MSU to beat us last year or for Indiana to have more talent than Michigan does.
If you think IU has more talent than us, I don't know what to say. Talent's not the issue (unless OSU is on the opposite side). It's coaching and player development.
If you can watch the Indiana game and not come away with observing Indiana has more talented players I cannot help you.
Watch the game and go position group by position group. What position groups were inferior to Michigan? I'm not talking about "stars" and "potential"....those mean nothing...what matters in talent translating to on field performance. Everything else is meaningless with regards to "what is talent".
Fans know this. They just don't like it.
I’m starting to come to this conclusion, too. But why even Easter time/energy recruiting high profile recruits if you aren’t aspiring to be a great football program?
This is not a good look for Michigan.
What exactly DO they aspire to be - can anyone tell us that?
A money making machine that never embarrasses the university off the field.
So should they take down the "Those Who Stay" plaque then?
Because I didn't see "Will Be Champions" listed in your criteria of what's important.
"Those who stay will get a fantastic degree and underwhelm on the field but not embarrass off of it."
April 16th, 2021 at 10:46 AM ^
Doesn't have the same flow, but in the interest of truth in advertising it must be done!
April 15th, 2021 at 12:43 PM ^
Trader Jack,
You sir are 100% correct. The problems with transfers being accepted combined with the new transfer portal rules are not good for Michigan.
April 15th, 2021 at 12:58 PM ^
I feel like at this point the only foreseeable rule change that would benefit us would be an open free market for NIL. Expanding the playoff would mean nothing.
April 15th, 2021 at 12:43 PM ^
Yep. I’m sure Giles leaving didn’t help, but teenagers get cold feet all the time. Junior Colson was upset when they let Don Brown go. But now he’s enrolled and has gone through practice and is part of the team. Have to believe the same would be true of Worthy if he’d been allowed to enroll early
April 15th, 2021 at 12:55 PM ^
I know there have been various rumors but what actually caused the delay in him being admitted? It sure feels like stuff happened that was atypical.
April 15th, 2021 at 12:56 PM ^
You think something like this would happen at OSU? Bama? Clemson? I don’t.
Dax Hill says hi!
In terms of the early enrollment issue, I don't think anyone really knows the back story. Probably never will. Best just to wish the kid well.
April 15th, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
A recruit decommitting, sure. That happens everywhere. Worthy’s situation is different. I think he’s saying that an unforeseen issue popping up with the admissions office wouldn’t happen at Clemson or Bama. If the kid was accepted in mid-February, then he should’ve been accepted in January as an early enrollee. Something happened. Someone screwed up and it cost the team an elite playmaker on the outside. - which wouldn’t happen at Alabama or Clemson.
