Time to Guess What our 2020 Football Record Will Be

Submitted by xtramelanin on October 21st, 2020 at 8:58 AM

To You Great MgoSeers and Prophets,

You are called to task right now:  the task is to peer into the future and tell us what the Wolverines will do this year in terms of wins and losses.  You get extra points for picking our cross-division game #9, and that outcome, as well as any bowl predictions.   Whether you suffer from 2020-accelarated BPONE, you are an ecstatic lunatic, or you fall somewhere in between, it is time to share your prognostication.

And if any of you are correct, I'll mail you the sunglasses from a certain mod that I am holding hostage.  They are nice, not overly fancy, a sure crowd-pleaser for the fashion conscious mgoblogger.

Have a great day,

XM

Crime Reporter, you have my exact same prognostication.  4-4 or 5-3 at best.

I Just cannot imagine a QB that didn't have 50% completion rate in HS with a D1 receiver on his team that has been 6-11 with 2 INT's and 1 TD at Michigan is going to be a breakout starter.  Is it possible, sure.  Is it probable, no.

I’m in the 5-3 camp.  I think there will be COVID impacts that will set teams back including Michigan. It’s gonna be a strange set of games.

8-1 or 7-2.  Loss to Ohio State and one of Wisco/Minnesota.  Elite skill position play and defensive end play will be our strengths.  Milton will show flashes of greatness amidst frustrating from over the middle dumb interceptions.

4-3 regular season. Miss 1 game because of Covid-19.
5-3 regular season otherwise.

6-3 final with win over Iowa in crossover game.

7-1 but I could see anything from 8-0 to 4-4.

Harbaugh wins home games vs. everyone who is not OSU. Minnesota is the biggest question mark in my mind, but I think we will win a shoot out vs them, something like 42 - 38.

OSU is a loss

Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota are 50/50.   Lean 2-1 given the home games.

If they avoid rematches in the crossover game then I imagine we play Iowa - lean win.   If NW or Nebraska then a win.

MSU, IU, Maryland, Rutgers are wins

So... 7-2 is best case scenario with 5-4 in play.

The schedule is interesting in that it sets up as 4 pairs of good team/bad team.  I predict 4-4 (beat the bad, lose to the good) with a loss in the "post-season" game.

4-5 will still be enjoyable because a) football; and b) covid seasons don't count.

11-0. After Minnesota gets hit with the covid our Superior contact tracing is the deciding factor in a 48 to 7 win! Joe Milton puts up Heisman numbers in game one and immediately becomes a Heisman FrontRunner. All of our second cornerback candidates play well prompting Coach harbaugh to put an OR between four different names on the depth chart. Tanner Morgan runs to the locker room at halftime and doesn't come back out. Michigan State forfeits game two as soon as Joe Milton steps off the bus. Next Indiana quarterback Michael Penix gets caught in deflategate 2.0 prompting jokes about deflated balls and penix on the board for the next decade! In spite of their cheating Indiana loses to Michigan in a shootout 39-38. Michigan decides to run the ball the next week against Wisconsin... All we do is hand the ball off all game not one pass is thrown by either team. 45-0 victory for the winged helmets!!! Rutgers week... Rutgers is ahead at halftime due to five turnovers in the first half by Joe Milton. Cade mcnamara comes in and leads us to victory! When asked for a response McNamara says they had us in the first half I'm not going to lie. 5-0 going into Penn State week. Journey Brown comes back and rushes for 300 yd. Again we're down at halftime...this time Joe Milton comes back leads a second half effort to victory with 5 td passes and he's back in the Heisman race! Michigan 56, Penn State 27. Maryland goes down faster than Monica Lewinsky at an apple bobbing competition. 7-0 going into Ohio State week. Michigan wins this game 62 to 39 #NeverForget Joe Milton's eight touchdown performance secures the Heisman. Illinois wins the big ten West with three losses and has to face Michigan in the big ten championship. Joe Milton outduels Brandon Peters prompting an immediate Heisman presentation with the committee foregoing the ceremony. Somehow Oklahoma still gets in the playoff... Michigan wins 70-28. The championship features Michigan over Alabama 63-48. National title! 11-0 book it!!!

It's not often someone can say "down there in Cadillac", and mean it literally.

I often tell people in Virginia that where I grew up (Saginaw), the quickest route into Canada was to go south (to Port Huron).  It always gets a strange look...
