Steve Lorenz: Mailbag questions

Hey guys, 

After talking to Ace and Brian for the last few weeks about it, we agreed on me coming on to do a weekly mailbag on Michigan recruiting. 

I believe the plan will be to run it on Tuesdays. I am assuming the MGoAudience may have some different style recruiting questions they want to know about and I think it will be fun to cover some different angles on the topic. 

My plan is to take five-ish questions each week with some fleshed out answers for you guys to chew on. Anything recruiting related is really open game IMO, so have at it and I'll have something ready for Tuesday.

Who are some blue chip guys who we aren't leading for or in the mix with just yet, who might show more serious interest if we have a great (11-1 or 12-0) season? Or put another way, are there any guys waiting to see if Michigan is "for real" before putting us in their top groups?

Isaiah Wilson, Najee Harris, Alex Leatherwood, Shaun Wade, Baron Browning.

I already assume we have a more than a fair shot with DPJ,JKP, Ambry Thomas, Drew Singleton and Ruiz.

Just FYI, as it's Steve's general stance in 247...don't waste your time asking the following:

  • How many end up in the class
  • How many at a position or group
  • If a commit might get pushed out or who that commit is
  • When someone might commit
  • If we have a silent commit

I probably missed a couple things. Just trying to save some grief on all ends.

How much interaction does an average top 100 recruit get in a week from Michigan? Let's say for example Drew Singleton (not committed) and McCaffrey(committed). How many calls? How long ? From which coaches? How many texts? Do they still send mail? Other? What about Harbaugh contact directly? Etc....

My hope is that it is regular thread, only because a fair number of people on here have at least claimed to abstain from things like Twitter, but the quality of the questions that I know we're capable of around here would make a thread pretty worthwhile, I think. 

It may only be a problem if we're asked to submit our questions on Vine, then it better be a short, general question.

If Michigan ends up missing out on some of the 5* and other players highly rated, do you think they will kick the tires on any local kids regardless if they are commited or not other schools?  Off the top of my head I can think of a few kids who look to be fringe talent and maybe worth a shot... What do you think?
