This will be the thread for hot takes about the offense and offensive playcalling.

Yes, Edwards had the two daggers which were awesome, but he should also get huge credit for the 6/7/9 yard runs in the 3rd quarter that got our running game going, where he obviously gave up more yardage to make sure he fell the right way and protected the ball from strips. He was using his body to shield the ball and spinning into hits so that there was no chance of fumble.

Wonder if we woulda saw a more conservative, phonebooth offense if Blake played....in a way, it was probably good that they were forced to put the game in JJ's hands trial by fire.  Now teams def need to worry about him and the passing game.

I think the plays McCarthy and the receivers made kept everyone believing, and then strength an toughness took over. This was an amazing team performance from start to finish.

If they play in the postseason the way they played in the second half, coupled with the defense playing the way it did, they can beat Georgia and win the whole damn thing.

Change my mind.

I said this in the game thread but it bears repeating. OSU started out so strong, but everything was built on the sandy foundation of emotion. Once Michigan grabbed momentum the first time, their emotion turned to doubt. Even though they came back, the foundation was crumbling.

Michigan sticks with execution and fundamentals. Those will last for 60 minutes.

Can't remember where I heard him talking about it, but I could swear I remember Harbaugh saying something about "competence over confidence."

The competence in all three units of the team feels like the greatest in all of the games of the past two years.

But the confidence and unity the members of the team (players and staff both) have had in each other these past two seasons has been amazing. And despite whatever disappointments may have appeared this year, coach Harbaugh has continued to support and believe in the members of the team. Compared to the "ass, not class" approach of Spartan coaches Darntonio and Isso when critiquing players, it provides even more evidence of the character of coach Harbaugh.

Hail CJ ! Hail JJ ! Hail Donovan ! Hail the OL.  Hail to the staff for  a game plan that contemplated and adjusted beautifully to OSU overloading the box.  45 points at the Shoe says a lot, as does the scoreboard. JJ's TD run showed amazing grit, though I hated to see the big hit at the goal line before barreling in.  A lot of ballers today who managed to beat a good OSU team playing for all the marbles, without their best player in Blake.

We looked dead and that one td pass changed everything.  Cornelius I will never doubt you again. JJ so many big plays, that 4th down gangster run had me screaming.  Edwards with one hand getting big yards.  Loveland with a massive TD.  So many wonderful surprises!!

Masterful game adjustments!

Amen! Amen! I can't find the words to sum up this second half offensive explosion but STUNNUNG sums it up?

Can we also say Ohio State collapsed? We outscored them 28-3 in the second half, what a dream!

I'll give Michigan ALL of the credit for WINNING this one BIG!

Man, if you told me we would win this game by 22 points without Blake Corum and a broken hand on Donovan Edwards, I would say you're sniffing glue.  WTF y'all?!  Complete and utter ass KICKING in the second half.  And how about the secondary locking down in the second half?  Mike Sainristil with the play of the game turning a TD into a FG.  That play was the beginning of the end for OSU.  Donovan housing it TWICE was surreal.  I have so many emotions right now.

I disagree - for the first time, he laid the ball up and sacrificed some yardage for easy catches to wide open receivers.

I'll take that anytime, rather than trying to throw dead-on lasers. A little touch is a beautiful thing, especially with receivers who aren't fantastic at making the tough catch downfield.

Make sure the big play works - he did that today, IMO.

OSU's defensive philosophy was no surprise: sell out on the run and make the QB beat you.
McCarthy was only 12-24 and even the TD throws were not perfect, but that and the 1-armed RB2 were enough, once the OL settled down and Michigan had confidence that the defense could make some stops.

Keegan, Oluwatimi, and Zinter are the greatest interior offensive line in my 52 years of watching Michigan football. Hayes is pretty damn good too. Barnhart held his own against the guy who single-handedly beat PSU.
When we were sitting at 10 yards rushing in the 3rd quarter, I thought, there goes the Joe Moore award. And then they went out and won it again in the 4th quarter.
Second halves like that just don’t happen in college football. 28-3 against the #2 ranked team at their home in front of 100,000+. And yet, it happened.

JJ found his touch on the deep ball in the biggest game of the year.  What a baller!  Edwards killing any chance they thought they had at the end.  Twice!  Receivers did their job and caught the DO’s from JJ.  O-line dominated the second half.  Finally, it’s fun to watch The Game again.  On to Indy!  Go Blue!

Luke freaking Schoonwalker.

Donovan. One hand, one and a half legs, all star.

CoJo. Mullings. Sainsristil. Corum for the power and the heart of a team.

All the Defense. JJ Gunslinger McCarthy.

LET’S. GO. BLUE.

JJ stepped up and delivered. Just like Cade did last year, he has garnered all the grace and freedom from criticism given. Amazing job by the entire crew and couldn’t be more pleased and excited to be wrong.
