This will be the thread for hot takes about the offense and offensive playcalling.

I am absolutely flabbergasted. Apparently so are the buckeyes. They didn’t respect our passing game and JJ & co made them pay dearly. By the time they adjusted, it was Edwards’ turn to get in space and smoke em. A beautiful gameplan that had to turn to our QB and trust him to make plays, and he delivered the game of his life. Let’s hope that he can build on it and continue having games like this in Indy, in the CFP, and for years to come!

Under the radar play of the game was that JJ run for 15 yards where he picked up the 1st and put his head down for another 7 yards and plowed through ohios D, and he didnt even go down...that shit right there was a yuuuge moral boost for us, and kick right square in their buckeyes.

i was so annoyed with mullings’ first carry.  i thought we were setting a drive on fire. i bet the game thread was completely in flames.

but MAN did that set up the jump pass.  one of the smartest, best-set-up plays i’ve ever seen.

What a game JJ had!  And played with a smile on his face all afternoon.

Just exactly when we needed him to come through, boy did he. Suddenly he had touch on deep balls!  Receivers got WIDE open! And caught the ball!!!

Pass protection was fantastic - that Polynesian kid from Washington is a superstar, and our line kept him from blowing up the game.

Donovan - guts, man. One-armed runner who WOULD NOT fumble - and jets!

Total team effort, but JJ is the star today. He was magnificent. Holy cow, what a game.

So proud of our boys - GO BLUE!!!!

Oh, happy day!

Ohio State was basically running the Jerry Glanville grits Blitz to stop the run, completely unsound defense. Michigan hit the shot plays Ohio was handing them, and the second Ohio started playing a more conventional defense Michigan started running down their throat at will. THAT is Manball. Gut the bastards until they break.

They could not stop the run without running a gimmick defense, and they got what they got. This team is so GD good.

That 3rd quarter TD drive was as sexy a piece of General George Patton Jeep Horn Honking Man Ball as I've seen since the Sparty drive against Iowa in the B1G championship game. Our line just took the soul out of their DL and the next two drives finished them off like a 3rd grader addicted to finishing moves in Mortal Kombat.

Clearly this was because of the weather and Stroud probably had a new virus that we haven’t even heard of yet. Probably worse than the Spanish Flu and Covid combined. No way it wasn’t just because Michigan is better. Stroud is the next in a long line of OSU QBs who will choke in the NFL.

Don't worry, it'll be "the refs" this year instead of the boo hoo Flu. Just as you can count on MSU to come up with excuses for sundry misdemeanours and felonies, we shall always be blessed to have an OSU team that can "justify" their losses.

Then again maybe they do have the right. Some dog ate the playbook they had for this game, CJ Stroud forgot about the game and accidentally scheduled his brain surgery for today, OSU's receivers lost their contacts on the ground 5 minutes before the game...

I will fess up and own any downvotes I get for saying this, but I was still in BPONE at halftime because our two scores were on long bomb coverage busts and I didn't think that was sustainable, esp with no running game to support it.

Turns out Jim Harbaugh and Matt Weiss and JJ are better at the footballs then I am.

Same. I felt like Michigan had been outplayed pretty badly going into the half. But then Michigan is a second half team. The fourth quarter might have been the best quarter of football I've ever seen out of a Michigan team. It's right up there with the fourth quarter of last year's OSU game, the second quarter of Penn State 1997 and the fourth quarter of Michigan State 2004.

JJ just started his heisman campaign.

great play calling overall

Oline must’ve heard the announcers on TV mentioning they were getting pushed around in the 1st half. They recaptured bully status

Clearly replacing our phenomenally successful incumbent QB was the right call.  As good as Cade was last year it's hard to see him winning this game for us - which is probably the only game all year that could be said for.  JJ is the man.

CoJo's route on the 2nd long TD was so cool. Waiting until the OSU safety turned his back, then pivoting to the center of the field. Luck, skill, design, divine intervention? Whatever it is, I'll take it!

Osu's DC took way too many unnecessary risks, playing cover zero that set up both long passes and runs for us. They either thought they were better and that they had to gamble, or they were so overconfident that they weren't worried about having no safeties

3rd string freshman TE? Touchdown.

Backup RB with a busted hand? 200+ yards and 2 TDs.

Sophomore QB struggling to pass the past few weeks? 3 passing TDs and ran for a 4th.

Incredible. Still cannot believe how bad these kids whooped em. Never let the pressure or the moment get too big. Go Blue!!

Two things changed the game:

One: The coaches gambled that Edwards’s upside outweighed the clear risk of a fumble.  That paid off.

Two: They let JJ run it   I think it loosens him up to take a hit   The keeper where he barreled into a dude seemed to get him going  OSU also had to honor the threat to the edge. That seemed to let the O-Line assert itself.

Oh, and also outscoring them 28-3 in the second half of the game.  That helped too.  (Should’ve been 35-3.  Forward progress my ass!  That’s a fumble and a Big Man Touchdown!)

JJ was incredible today. When Corum couldn’t continue, I thought we had little chance to win. JJ put the team on his shoulders and got them through a rough first half, then sparked the team when they needed it on key third downs in the second half. Congrats to him. Brilliant performance.

I'm so happy still. When we got Olu to transfer this was my hope, that he'd boost the middle of the line from good to amazing.

Loveland looks like he's going to be a menace for years as a receiving option.

Cornelius Johnson changed the game. Without his two long touchdowns in the first half we might not have caused them to go into turtle mode.
