"I don’t think we can call erring on the side of caution with respect to a virus that has killed almost 200k Americans so far this year being on the wrong side of history..."

Nah man, you seem to forget that history books are going to remember everyone who wanted people to wear masks and not risk unpaid student athletes' health as authoritarian wimp sheep /s

Man, if you're using the phrase "right side of history" with regard to having/not having a college football season, your priorities are very different than mine.

Also, bold statement considering we don’t know how it’s going to go yet. But whatever.

If the kids want to play and accept the risk then let’s do it. Also, rapid testing makes it more feasible. Still, rosters are going to be all over the place and cancellations will be frequent.

Good idea.  I am not sure if I will put any money down but my bet would be the end of the year.  He has time to repair the damage but in these cancel culture times; one can never be certain.

My issue is the inconsistent application of the data.  High school and many Power 5 teams have returned without any issues (thus far).  Now I will admit that history has yet to be written and Schlissel might be on the right side but the data is not going his way to date.

I've found both sad and amusing how many people seem to think Schlissel is (nearly) single-handedly preventing Big Ten football (let alone UM football) from happening.

The prevailing thought I gather is that the We Want to Play crowd are using their political capital to bully University Presidents into making decisions they may not be entirely comfortable with.  Sounds like a massive L for everyone involved.
