I noticed he’s also recently responded angrily to criticism. Which is odd because someone “in the know” doesn’t care if people disagree with him.

I see.  Understood and agree.  The content quality is not worth the effort.  Maybe go back to the free form version.  Less work for you and any good position group threads will start organically.  Or maybe that option is more work for you?

Like Southpaw and me, there are a lot of people that don’t wade through the snowflake/hot take threads anymore.  Further, I dont think people know thy can start another Unit thread when the snowflake thread already says you can’t. Finally, even if and when some decides to start a Unit thread, a lot of posters will have already made their point in the snowflake thread and are not going to re-post the same point. So at that point a unit thread is a lost cause.

From an Mgoblog business perspective you will see overal numbers and engagement go up, though modestly as a percent overall.

There are absolutely no conclusions that can be made from these data.

09/16/2018 - 1:01pm Colorado and BYU were/are…

Colorado and BYU were/are very good teams so those losses aren’t necessarily an indication.

Unfortunatly, after all these losses these teams will come back hungry for a win.

Voters also elect “idiot and scumball” governors and worse.  So I don’t think having the Governor appoint trustees helps is necessarily a solution.  I have no idea how trustees are elected.  Maybe some should be by voters, some by appointment, and some elected by current students.

Your quote:

“Another reason I'm of the opinion that the Governor, not the electorate, should have power to appoint & remove University trustees at MSU, U-M and Wayne State.  Michigan voters have proven they just elect people to these positions based on their name, even if they're known idiots and scumballs. “

Playcalling seemed conservative to start. Defense always gives up a score or two in Q1.

Those were great game winners but not as iconic as the catch.

Clearly their computer algorithm is heavily weighted for the home team.

Best of luck to Wilton.  He was our best QB last year.  Too bad he was injured. He could have easily gone 12-1.  Was surprised he bailed so quickly after the Shea transfer but clearly it was the smart move.

Or the cup is half full, the scholarship guys are great, and Wilson has Glasgow blood.

Because the camera is at an angle it actually gives the allusion that the M is slightly behind the line when actually it is excatly at the center of the line. Imagine if you were standing on the sidelines right at the line it would be quite clearly in the center.  No doubt the B10 ref crew would fuck up the call though.

08/29/2018 - 12:44am Your title and post…

Your title and post completely misrepresents the article.  It’s actually a good article. I enjoyed it. It actually says he’s not on the hot seat.  He’s at a crossroads which is true.   I don’t think you really read the whole thing.

30-7

Based on:

1) Harbaugh does well when there is plenty of time for devising new game plans for a specific opponent.

2) Our defense is coming back to show it’s #1

3) ND is over rated

4) I’m ignoring a history of close games no matter what the situation is.

08/27/2018 - 5:45pm 4 of our losses last year…

4 of our losses last year can be directly attributed to O’Korn.  3 of those losses were easily winnable by Speight or Peters.

With the injuries last year it’s clear we need bench strength.  Peters will have improved.  McCaffery has a year of training.

We are in much better shape than last year with both our starter and bench

Herbie said that after he read the detailed report he had questions (i think his actual words were stronger). I think it had to do with the deleted emails and more. I don’t have the link.  It was a couple of days ago.

08/24/2018 - 1:39pm The degenerate Buckeye fans …

The degenerate Buckeye fans (there are many, perhaps rivaling Bama, but not all of them) are more upset because their kindred spirit Zach Smith was fired. If Zach can get fired for his behavior that really must have affected their inner subconscious and sense of self worth. I mean, what hope do they have left in life.

08/24/2018 - 3:21am To be fair, you need to…

To be fair, you need to remove O’Korn’s bias in numbers from the other two. O’Korn is responsible for 4 of our 5 losses, most of the INTs, and more.

08/21/2018 - 3:41pm It’s the end of the season…

It’s the end of the season that matters.  Potential end of season AAs:

Patterson

Gary

Winovich

Higdon

DPJ

Black

Bush

Long

Hill

The defensive candidates are obvious.  If our offense breaks out then one or more of the TE, WR, QB and RB could have All American seasons

This is likely a leak by a board member to corner the president into not firing Meyer

08/20/2018 - 1:26pm I like our team this year! …

I like our team this year!  But has any other team ever faced a schedule like this?  5 games vs higher ranked top 12 team.  3 on the road.  2 bs top 5.

Certainly not this year.  OSU, Bama, Clemson, Wisky, Georgia all have cake schedules.

08/18/2018 - 10:53pm This signals that he will be…

This signals that he will be reinstated.  This allows no one person to take the blame from the public or fans for either decision. Also, if Drake thought he should be fired it allows the board to reinstate Meyer.

No safety depht chart?  I’ll assume thats intentional (or accidentally intentional).

I’ll guess that McCaffery, Martin, and Spanellis (sp?) end up higher in the depth chart.

These problems are due to the previous ousted CEO.  Do you have any idea how long it takes to turn a company around.  Especially an auto manufacturer given the long product lifecycles and deeply embedded culture.

Hacket is quirky but his ethical reputation is beyond reproach and his business track record is impeccable.

Ford at the top, however, is known to be a political shark fest. One Ford family member in particular has a reputation for backstabbing and undermining rivals careers if they are in the way.  This could easily be a hit piece through their NY contacts.

08/13/2018 - 1:23pm Normally I don’t like wild…

Normally I don’t like wild speculation like this, however I do like this specific new analysis the OP has uncovered

I originally assumed OSU, being OSU, will do everything to keep Meyer and that he would probably stay.

But I completely agree that OSU is only a stepping stone for their current president and because his reputation, presumably his reputation for unquestioned ethical standards, will be more important than a winning coach, he will do everything to get rid of Meyer.  To get rid of Meyer he will need some proof and then he will need to convince their biggest doners.

In either case above, whether they are predisposed to retain or fire, they will need clear evidence.

Down voted for making an uninformed inflammatory comment.

Based on actual rivalry games in South Bend the odds (if you base them on history) are 1 in 10.

08/12/2018 - 12:28pm Yes of course they have.  …

Yes of course they have.   Do your own homework if you're going to make an uniformed statement.

In fact I believe they’ve beaten ND twice by 21 or more at South Bend. The last time in 2006.

And that makes the odds more like 1 in 10.

Before Meyer says anything more it will take some time to make sure his new story is going to work.

08/03/2018 - 12:44am I’m surprised that all the…

I’m surprised that all the analysts and sportcasters are saying there is no way that Meyer can stay.  That OSU as a program won’t accept anything less.  I’m completely shocked that the media doesnt know for OSU, a winning reputation is more important than an ethical reputation.  Such short memories they have.

08/02/2018 - 9:34am “I’m not going to lie”, can…

“I’m not going to lie”, can someone let me know when it’s time to come back to the blog when i wont have to read 20 posts about Zach Smith and Urban Meyer?

Can the mods please reduce this down to one Meyer/Smith post per day?

And finally, ”I’m not going to lie” is a really messed up way to start a sentence. So normally you are?

08/01/2018 - 7:48pm Nothing will come of this…

Nothing will come of this. This is still “Gene Smith” running the show who serves “at the pleasure of the coach”.

Putting Meyer on administrative leave is just window dressing.

08/01/2018 - 12:59am They can win every game. …

They can win every game.  But the lack of depth later in the season is what will make the difference between a great season or not.

Plus Nebraska will be a grudge/trap game.

Most insightful post of the month on the biggest open issue.

Place your starting lineup bets.  I’ll guess:

Runyon

Bredenson

Ruiz

Spanellis

Hudson

with either Tackle at right or left.

Excited about Hudson

07/21/2018 - 11:43pm Thanks for all the great…

Thanks for all the great ideas and comments so far. I’ll say:

Definately Zingerman’s over all. I lived down the street.  It was new then. The only challenge is I have to eat gluten free and my kids are vegan.  Don’t ask but its all for the right reasons.

Definatly the campus appointment and tour. I assume that will hit all the key spots.  The Diag, the Law Quad and many more

Definatly need to walk into the Big House. You use to be able to just walk in. Do they still allow that?

Not sure about North Campus.  The engineering school moved up there when I was on campus.  Is it still purgatory?

The river kayaking sounds interesting  l

They are more academic than athletic

They've been to other parts of Michigan  Just not Ann Arbor

Very into music

What is Drakes?

Thanks
