Juwan Howard Appreciation Thread

It is clear the love that exists between Coach Howard and his team.

And a member of the Fab Five has delivered a banner.

Thanks Coach.  Everything about this program is a joy to behold right now.  Next up, try to get 2 more banners.

Give credit to the coaches. They prepared this team for a major bounce back, against a rival, after getting blown out the previous game.

Kudos the coaching staff.

I have so much respect for Juwan Howard.

Juwan left school early, but finished his degree anyway while playing his first year in the NBA, as a promise kept to his grandmother.  Instead of NBA parties and drugs and girls, he got his degree.

That always impressed me.  To the point that I was uncomfortable when he came here to coach.  Because I would be crushed if it did not work out and he had to leave.

My concerns were unfounded.

Never thought we'd have a coach I love more than Beilein.

So damn lucky. So happy for Juwan. This is the dude that cried at his introductory press conference.

"I felt like I was letting down my teammates (by leaving in 1994) because I didn't do what I came here to do. And that was to bring a championship to this university."

You've done it now, Juwan!

Wow.

I remember seeing this posted somewhere the day after they won but I don't think it hit me the way it does now.  The "We did it Jay" and "I'm so happy for us" got me a little choked up.  He seemed just as happy that he got a championship for his Fab Five brothers as he was for the Heat.

Juwan is unbelievable.

He delivered on a level of what we expected from Harbaugh.

This year was a valuable lesson.  Humility.  He goes out and he gets Martelli.  The team shares the ball.

He has instituted an amazing culture.

And we have the number one recruiting class coming in next year.

This is going to be a fun ride.

I appreciate that this man who was ridiculed by some for crying at his announcement as coach has delivered an outright B1G championship season in just his second year as a head coach - notwithstanding the fact that this is one of the best B1G’s in the history of college hoops. He has done it with grace and class. We are so fortunate to have him. Hats off to a great one!

2021 B1G Champions.

I was optimistic about the hire; loved Juwan, but a first time HC is always an unknown...i think i said it was swinging for the fences at the time...and in his second year, Coach Howard wins the B1G! That's a helluva swing!

Can't ever take that away, so its fantastic that the kids, coaches and staff will always be part of a Championship team...one down, two to go.

I’m sure this is a joke but I’m getting sick of seeing the Juwan doesn’t coach comments from the rest of the big ten. It’s pretty clear why they are saying it.

Also, anyone see any comments from Harbaugh?

When the search was on, Juwan was my pick. I knew, from his role recruiting the rest of the Fab Five that he would recruit better than Beilein. I had no idea just how great a CEO he would be once given the opportunity. So, so happy for him.

I was ten when the Fab Five came around. Juwan was my favorite back then, in large part owing to his infectious positivity. He played with joy and inspired it in others. So special what he’s doing, and he doesn’t even have the crazy recruits on-board yet. What a special person.
