In his press conference just a few minutes ago.  Every media person is reporting it. If someone could embed tweet or clip

I don't know that it can technically be classified as a guarantee.......

Might be just an attempt to wake the Buckeyes up.....cuz God knows the coaching staff hasn't been able to!

GOOD.

Glad he said it.

For those saying "now OSU is going to be more motivated", how so exactly?

1) a berth in the B1G Championship is on the line

2) a chance to make the CFB playoffs is on the line

3) a chance to end Michigan's shot at either the above

4) continuing a massive 8 game winning streak.

If people think that Higdon saying "Yeah, I do. I do,"

"That's how I feel. I believe firmly in my brothers, this team and this coaching staff."

is somehow going to motivate OSU players more than the other goals, i don't know what to say...

its like saying "we're going to give 110%": that's not actually a thing.

If anything, Michigan has been giving too much respect to OSU over the years... they need to see guys like Matthews and Simpson that aren't afraid of getting a bit dirty, getting hostile, getting PO'd

F OSU

Go Blue

Great!  I mean who fucking cares about this shit other than the idiots in the media.  It will have no bearing on the outcome of the game.

Oh ya, this guarantee is going to motivate Ohio State so much that it fixes their awful run game and garbage defense.

Just read a tweet from an OSU writer that is actually rational.  Basically said this is nothing.  He didn't come to the presser expecting to give a guarantee.  Was pressed by a reported and said "sure."  Even the OSU writer asked "What is he suppose to say?  No, I don't think we are going to win."  Good for him.  Have confidence.  This talk from Monday will mean nothing on Saturday.

He is baited by the reporter but answered confidently. I like his confidence

Osu is already so fired up for this game this will not make them hit harder or play better.

It really is a non story.

Good.  Poke the bear and then shoot his ass with buckshot.  Love that our players have changed the mindset.

Brady guaranteed a victory today on his weekly spot on WEEI.  Said he's confident and won't have to pay up on any OSU bets.  One year he had to wear Vrabel's jersey at practice.

Well, You have to walk the walk now and finish this thing if you are going to run your mouth.  I do like his confidence and he has been this way all year, so bring it now.

These guys are openly wearing “Revenge Tour” shirts and people are actually worried that Higdon gauranteeing a win will provide extra motivation to OSU?

The “be careful what you say” bus left a long time ago.

Don't understand the hand wringing in these post. Karan's "guarantee" is not going to affect the outcome, not one bit. I am sure some OSU players will give him an earful if he is tackled for loss or if they are ahead in game. Does not matter what is said between now and Saturday.  Only thing that matters is the final score. I have zero doubt Michigan is better team. Can they win the mental hurdle is the only question in my mind. Personally, what I witnessed this year since Notre Dame tells me this team is tough. How many teams get up off the mat like they did after Notre Dame and win 10 in a row? This team has shown so much grit, so much heart, I am not ever going to bet against them. I do believe they will score at least 34 points.  Only question is can the D hold them to less than 30. If so, Michigan wins.... Go Blue!

From the second we beat Indiana and a mic was placed in front of our players or coaches the media has been angling for someone to say this.

What do they expect players to say???  Now they have their clip that undoubtedly will be shown all week.

We WILL beat OSU!!!

To those critical of his response, tell me what he should have said..."No, I won't guarantee a win. We could definitely lay an egg and blow this game."? He gave a very respectful answer that was effectively saying, "I believe we will win, and I can't see it ending any other way." Well said Karan.

it's really about the belief and confidence more than the statement.  The other team spent 15 years using belief as a motivator and its developed into a culture.  They have specific habits observed during this week (LL Cool J song; the countdown) and even if gimmicks they work and become part of their culture.  This Michigan team can truly change that and hearing their confidence and belief is what's remarkable right now.

Team - Please just stay focused this week and ball out Saturday and finally kick there ass. I’m tired of this, my son is 16 and has only remembered one time we have beat them. I’m tonokd for another loss. Go get them and play every play like it’s your last ever, because win or loose boys it’s gonna end for everyone.

I liked that he referenced his leadership role as a captain when answering this baiting question.  Good to see this confidence in one of the team’s leaders.

I only wish he was more emphatic!!!

Anyone notice how fired up he was after the hit on Edwards Saturday? During stoppage, he was alone on the field shouting at Indiana's sideline and pointing at the line of scrimmage or endzone when one of the UM coaches came and grabbed him. Evans took the next 2 snaps, both runs if I recall, perhaps in response? No idea but I thought it was a curious sequence. I was hoping the coaches would feed him immediately and let him get to work. I hope we see him do some work on Saturday...

The way the reporter baited him made it sound like Harbaugh guaranteed a win this week, when the reporter knew that might confuse a kid who wasn’t alive when Harbaugh made that guarantee in college. Oh well, Go Blue! Beat their golden pants and their tats right off of them!
