02/07/2019 - 7:44am It is better to have class…

It is better to have class in July than a funeral next week.

At what point does the safety for the student trump your distaste for your children being at home instead of in class? What the conditions are at your house might not be the same conditions a single mile in any direction from your house. Where I live, in town it looks like a nice snowfall with not much of an effect on the roads, but two miles out of town into the fields, the drifts are three feet deep and the road cannot be discerned from the ditch. Accept that in a frivolous lawsuit seeking society that will make the rest of "their lives" easy, administrators are going to air on the side of caution. There are no more "Back in my days". Yes, it sucks, swap your pull-ups for a pair of boxers, stop whining, and move forward.

02/05/2019 - 2:38pm Have him look into the…

Have him look into the trades. Master craftsmen are looking for individuals who are willing to work and learn the skills needed to support the infrastructure of society in the near future.

02/03/2019 - 4:54pm I would be interested in…

I would be interested in your breakdown of Romeo and Juliet. Is it truly the quintessential romance or is a satire of teenage hormones and irrational thinking? What is your rationale?

Or in the back of the mail truck tips over like in The Postman.

01/30/2019 - 9:22pm As a teacher, a day or two…

As a teacher, a day or two off spread out throughout the January - March dog days, but this is getting ridiculous. But what can you do? It is better to be going to school in June than attending a funeral in February. We will adapt, and move forward.

Our family adapts and adjusts well. A few things that need to be done is to make sure all exhaust pipes are cleared for the furnace or plumbing. Then make sure you have at least one faucet on a slow drip to keep the water in the pipes moving and not freezing solid. Besides that, we plan ahead and try to have at least two extra weeks worth of food in the house for these days. Didn't do as good of a job of matching the beverages this time. Going to have to go out tomorrow for some jet fuel.

Bolivia! Bolivia!

01/24/2019 - 9:14am To all the detractors, see…

To all the detractors, see the evidence. Transfers happen, some are motivated by the distance from family, the difficulty of class, or money from boosters. It happens everywhere. Stop playing Chicken Lil' and realize the sky is not falling everytime someone transfers or leaves.

01/05/2019 - 10:32am Magnus,

Allow me to clarify…

Allow me to clarify. Yes he had an offer, but he was not heavily recruited like others that signed with UofM or that we missed on.

For a HS athlete, his size qualifies as elite, but his strength, hip bend, and pad level were not. He struggled at times against 5’10 230lb linemen in HS.

I will not wish ill upon anyone until they have earned it. Signing with MSU or calling coaches robots does not qualify for ill-will. Heck, signing with the bucknuts does not earn ill-will.

I appreciate your stance and opinion and I hope I provided some clarification for my original statements.

01/04/2019 - 8:41pm I hope this stops the…

I hope this stops the complaining about not recruiting Dobbs. He has elite size, but once he was facing elite talent, he struggled. I thought he was the worse linemen during the game. I wish the young man a successful career at MSU, but we now know why he wasn't recruited.

Paul, the Douche, already went after the players sitting out and said this is going to be Jim’s toughest loss to end the season (paraphrased). I hate Paul, the SEC, and ESPN.

12/26/2018 - 11:06pm…

I have suffered from turf toe and it sucks. If it is grade three, you find yourself unable to push-off (walk up stairs, start to sprint, or put weight on the balls of your feet). It sucks.

I even had a brace made for it and had a hard time running for three months after the injury. Had to shut it down for two months for it to heal.

Unless you have been there, shut the pie hole.

Higlight of 2018: not getting the head coaching position I wanted, but ended up in a brotherhood of a coaching staff that has blessed me many times over in a short time.

UofM highlight - DPJ touchdown against lil bro and the Paul Bunion after!

2019: Drop another 40 lbs. Down 120 in last five years.

Merry Christmas!

Watching the new Tomb Raider with my bride and the In-laws at home.

12/20/2018 - 10:35am Remember that our coaches…

Remember that our coaches are very particular about who they recruit. Like most of us, we have character traits we look for in people we want in our inner-circle. If they do not fit or if there are flags that warn us, we move forward with caution. So when it comes to certain players from the State of Michigan, some of them do not fit the mold that the coaches are looking for.

I have learned to trust the process with this coaching staff. I know that is hard for star-gazers but look at the 5* who have burned out and left the program/not developed further.

Yes, there are misses, but that happens everywhere.

12/19/2018 - 9:20am HAIL YES!

Herbstreit is a piece of the burning, sticky, acid-laced fecal matter. That one that gets stuck and does not one to free fall. Why can't we find someone better? It is like having Spielman in the booth with Urban Lier for the UofM SuckSU game.

10/02/2018 - 8:33am Two Thoughts:

Two Thoughts:

1) Pat Fitz is an amazing coach. When you give him a bye week prior to playing any team, he gives them a game.

2) How much more vanilla could we get? At some point, you have to put it on the team to execute and produce. We finally witnessed this on Saturday. Yes, we did not have great output as far as scoring, but once again our defense and offense stepped up and got the W.

Until we can produce and succeed in high-stress situations, instead of just blowing opponents out, we will not rise and be great. Even 'Bama faces a game here and again when they have to rise up and produce and pull out the W in the fourth quarter. Stay the course... Those who stay, will be champions.

08/30/2018 - 7:19am As one who read UM’s book …

As one who read UM’s book “Above The Line”, this is hilarious!

In the text, E +R=O refers to the response to any situation. Event + Response = Outcome.

Urbs claims that his entire staff embodies and lives by the ideas. Smith’s response... nope. Bruce’s response... nope. Urban’s response... nope.

OSU’s response... Joke.

1) Kevin Spacey - American Beauty, Usual Suspects, Etc. Granted KPax was terrible, Se7en, etc.

05/20/2018 - 3:59pm GOAT Movies

Here are my three with explanations:

1. Fight Club - In a movie that was so misunderstood, a challenge to be more of what we are intended to be instead of a single-serving human being pushed my thought process and still challenges me every day.

2. The Bridge - Tough movie to watch, but truly helped me understand mental illness and suicide. I believe everyone should watch this movie to give them insight into the life of those suffering from mental illness and how their family and friends fight for them.

3. Pleasantville - Yep. Go back, watch it again. It touches on every single major issue in our society. As much as we want to blame other things, the failure to try and understand our neighbors, siblings, and family, along with the inability to accept different thinking and behavior drives our society to hate each other. Once we realize that our differences are so small and that those things we judge others by we possess ourselves...

05/16/2018 - 6:04pm Fans = entitled brats

A large percentage of our fan base consists of entitled brats who know nothing of sports, especially football.

05/12/2018 - 10:24pm Dragon’s Milk Reserve

Salted Caramel.
Great flavor and finish.

05/05/2018 - 7:49pm That has nothing to do with being a team.

That is a toxic culture if that crap is allowed. In no way should any, coach, parent, administrator, and especially not a teammate allow that kind of behavior. They would all be gone. Turn your helmet and hear in, get on the bus, and never set foot in my lockerroom again. Period. Nothing justifies that “team” behavior.

04/27/2018 - 8:03pm Keweena Level 92 IPA

Not bad. Pine start with a citrus finish

04/27/2018 - 10:25am Why did the egg have to pick you?

Just awful.

04/25/2018 - 11:41am It appears that Engler and the BOT has burnt the ships.

This quote says it all:

"Owning up to your mistakes is never easy, and it is exponentially harder when the failings are as egregious as Michigan State’s. But not accepting the depth of its problems, or trying to make them go away as quickly and as quietly as possible, is what got the university in this trouble in the first place.

Penn State is often held up as the model of what not to do when faced with a sex abuse scandal. But what Michigan State has done, what it continues to do, is far worse"

So when does the University decide that the Cortez approach is not the way to go when your people have done and are continuing to do wrong?

04/15/2018 - 2:17pm And your lack of a life shows through again.

How many stars were you as a football recruit? How much of his gold did you watch? Did you interview him? Call his references? If not, Stop being a d-bag and accept that our coaches see something in the kid that they Value. Love the fact that he chose to wear the Maize and Blue. If you can’t, burn your fan gear and go buy a green or red shirt and be wmbrassed by their crap cultures. If not, Man up and support or team.
