05/13/2018 - 3:00pm For myself and many others

this year will define Harbaugh.  These are all his players that he recruited (less a grad transfer or two).  They have a tough schedule.  They have many players coming back from a good young team.  This is the year that Michigan stakes it's claim as elite perennial top 10 team or the flash is more than substance.  I have been the biggest Harbaugh fanboy since his arrival.  The is the year that my confidence will grow or be shaken.

05/13/2018 - 8:37am Many fans don't care

about ancilary stuff.  Just beat your rivals, keep M relevant and respected in college football landscape. Run a clean program and don't embarrass M on a National stage.  Pretty much sums up how many feel.

04/09/2018 - 3:07pm I miss football

My wife is from an MSU family and she was encouraging me to keep playing episode after episode. The personal stories were the best. Well done Prime. As others have stated, nice to have a little peek behind the curtain.

Harbaugh is still my hero.  His blank expression at home after a loss is just like me.  He loves god, family (football family too) and football. I believe he cares deeply for his players.  Quirky? Abosolutely, but who thought otherwise?

Don Brown is not paid enough.

Rashan Gary will be a top 5 pick in NFL next April.  He will have a beast of season.  I have so much more respect for him.  His mom always seemed like a great mom before this series, and this only provided further evidence she is real. Our new S&C coach will have the players in the best shape of their lives this year.

Winovich is a dork in a good way and brings awesome energy that other players feed off of.

QB's proved devastating to season.  Both Okorn and Speight thought they were better than they were. There were plays to be made all season, but bad decisions or errant throws were costly.  The coaches put them in a position to be successful and they both didn't execute.  I hope Speight does not come back to Michigan.  Wish them both well, but time to move on. I got the sense both Harbaugh and Pep knew the QB's were achilles heel from camp on.

Next to poor QB play, Blacks injury had a big impact.  No reciever stepped up for balance of season. Not Perry, not DPJ or any of the TE's.  There were flashes, but no one was ascending like Black.  Hope he is 100% and DPJ steps up.  Those two could make any QB look great.

I believe this series will help recruiting more than hurt.  But at the end of day, winning is the best recruiter.

01/14/2018 - 1:26pm German pipeline

Basketball and football.....LOL

01/12/2018 - 6:54pm Pure conjecture

I think Partridge is waiting out a DC job.  If he gets it, gone, if not stays.

01/10/2018 - 8:29pm Belichek coaches

have not exactly flourished on their own. I think it is like Great Basketball players don't make good coaches.  You can't teach greatness.

01/10/2018 - 8:15pm John Okorn looked the same with Jedd

as he did with Pep.  I don't know what the issue was this year.  There was certainly something not right on offense.  Was it Pep, was it Drevno? Who knows.  The offense started to sputter in the Iowa game last year and never really looked the same. All I know is that whatever the issue was, it is the responsibility of the head coach, and likewise, it is the responsibility of the head coach to fix it. I believe it will be fixed. I believe 2018 will be Harbaugh's best year due to talent, experience of players and a relentless desire to shut up us and media.

01/07/2018 - 11:01am Count me on the coaching being MORE important

than Stars. Example, how could Don Brown have one of the top Defenses at BC with barely a 4 star? Coaching.  Now get great coaching and lots of talent and you have Alabama. Great coaching and good talent can get you a top 25 team.  Will you win a National Championship with great coaching and good talent? Not likely.

01/06/2018 - 9:34am Exactly, well said.

ZERO mention of Brown prior to his hire.  I think lots of these rumors are exactly that, just rumors.

01/06/2018 - 6:02am Bredeson was a big WI target

that was recruited by Mattison.

01/05/2018 - 9:19pm He was a graduate transfer

with plenty of experience playing U.S football.  Baxter should have told him, if there is any issue, just eat the ball as everyone in stadium knew the heat was coming. Muscle memory? LOL

01/05/2018 - 6:39pm Agree with most of this except

I would bet Baxter would have still been in AA the next season if not for MSU debacle. Not telling the punter to just fall on ball in case of mishap is coaching 101.

There were insider rumors going around that Drevno was inline for HC job somewhere at beginning of season.  This is why I thought Harbaugh brought in Hamilton anticipating Drevno's departure.  Well, it appears the Michigan offense this year did little to lure suitors for Michigan offensive coaches.

01/05/2018 - 2:27pm Totally overwhelmed Florida

Expect same with ND

01/03/2018 - 7:05pm If you don't respect the pass

you put 8 in box.  M QB's and WR's did little to soften the safety's and corners.  Watch how good the run game gets when there is a legitimate threat of pass.

01/02/2018 - 3:39pm Michigan can pay for an elite

Michigan can pay for an elite PROVEN OC. Go get one!

01/02/2018 - 11:33am Big Harbaugh fan and Apologist here

Always looking at glass half full through this season, the MSU blocked punt, the Iowa collapse, and JT was short, etc, etc.

Yesterday was it for me. I am officially off bandwagon.  And no, short of B1G championship which includes beating OSU and MSU in same year, I will stay off it. That offensive team yesterday looked confused. And that friends, lays at feet of head coach. PERIOD.  There is something not right on offense, and I mean, it isn't talent and it isn't effort.  It is scheme.  Stop with the Nepotism hires!  Please hire a REAL WR, RB and OC coaches.  PLEASE hire Devin Bush Sr.  Do it between now and end of March.  If this team goes into next season with this same cast of coaching characters, you are staring at a sub 500 season.  There was NOTHING yesterday on offense that made you say this team could be special.

And for the record, Mo Hurst leaving will be a loss.  His interior line play, may not be duplicated in a Michigan uniform for a long time.  He was the highest rated defensive player with PFF in the entire country!  You don't replace that overnight.

01/01/2018 - 5:31pm Michigan would have been sub

Michigan would have been sub 500 this year if not for Don Brown.  The offensive coaching staff has zero continuity.  Time for a big shakeup on offense.  Please hire REAL WR and RB coaches and streamline the OC position.  Make one person the Oline coach.  This "shared" duty for Oline has regressed the Oline.  I was indifferent about Fisch.  I will say, I was wrong, should have hired him back as OC after leaving UCLA.

Huge Harbaugh fan.  Got to say, my confidence is shaken. The team tightens up at end of games. The last two posessions of the game by Michigan are unexplainable. 3rd and 1, you get that first down! Even if you RUN the ball, get the first down. Those two pass play calls were head scratchers at best.  The 4th down play on 2nd to last possession was unexplainable.

Michigan is 9 - 8 in last 17 games. Did not win one game this year against team with winning record..

I won't bang on any player, as it is the coaches responsibility to put them in a position to make plays.  Players are often out of position (coaching).

Next year may be worse as schedule is tougher, Michigan loses their best player (Hurst) and the QB situation looks to be in same situation as this year unless Patterson is cleared to play.

12/30/2017 - 9:28am Good Bowl Season for me

Is all B1G (most importantly M) teams win, and the two SEC teams lose in final four leaving Clemson and OK with OK winning.  I have adopted OK for the final 4.  Sick of "Dabo" and "Nick" and SEC.

12/19/2017 - 1:43pm Finally, a voice of reason

Much of the two deep are highly ranked.  Kids want to play now.  Going to be tough to break lineup as freshman unless you are a stud Olineman.

12/19/2017 - 1:27pm NO way Hurst was a generic

3 star.  Only 5 stars become first round NFL draft picks. Occasionally a lowly 4 star does to.  But no way does a 3 star! Of course I am kidding and not poking fun at you.  I am taking a shot of some of these star gazers.  If Michigan had a "good" QB this year, they could have won the BIG with the youngest team in D1.  Keep in mind, most of the team next year will be from Harbaughs 2016 and 2017 class.  In short, more talent, then he has had since he has been here. Harbaugh will have a the best QB situation he has had since he got here. Michigan almost pulled it off with a bad QB situation.  Imagine, what he will do with a good QB situation, more experience all around and more TALENT!

12/18/2017 - 6:38pm I was just thinking

Glad my kid is not a 3 Star athlete being recruited by Michigan. Some of the stuff written on blogs and on Twitter makes me sad for those kids and parents. This sky is falling attitude by some is just plain sad.

Michigan has yet to establish themselves as elite. I think 18 will be the first year M will be put back on map. Most don’t realize how far M fell before Harbaugh. Harbaugh has done an incredible job. Of course one B1G Championship would have been nice. But, lots of dues to be paid first. Harbaugh was left with Morris, Speight and Malzone. All 3 will have transferred out. Okorn and Rudock we’re castoffs and all he could get to transfer. Start judging in 18. Almost all his players, most importantly, all his QB’s.

In the meantime, can some of you just lighten up on these recruits. I don’t care if they are 5 Star or PWO, they dawn the Winged Helmet, I wish them nothing but success.

12/17/2017 - 9:58am I really don’t understand

Why there is all this hand wringing about recruiting. Michigan was a good QB from winning EVERY game except 2 games since Harbaugh has been at Michigan. Now that the succession of Harbaugh recruits and QB’s officially begins with Peters you all can start judging. It amazes me that many of you forgot what kind of shape Michigan was in when Harbaugh arrived. He has worked miracles in 3 years. 2017 was his best coaching. Tough conference, youngest team in D1 and a bad QB situation. 2017 rock bottom for Harbaugh was Dantonio’s 3-9.

12/08/2017 - 8:37pm I do like the Bush sr for Safety coach

comment earlier.  And yes, bring in WR coach for number 10.

12/07/2017 - 8:04pm I haven't understood the infaturation

with Jedd.  He was with Okorn in 2016 and pretty much same results.  Jedd didn't coach Oline which was one of the biggest problems this year.  I think Jedd is a very good OC, just don't believe he was the reason Michigan regressed on offense. Michigan regressed on offense because of lack of depth at QB and being very young.

12/07/2017 - 3:28pm It is an exhibition game with almost

no benefti for Mo to play.  Could only hurt his draft stock.  Makes no sense.  He has been a great ambassador for Michigan.  Mo, you worry about you.  If this was a playoff game that would be different. This game cannot benefit him in any way.  #1 rated PFF player in country.  Played every game this year.  Was unblockable.  If I was coach, I would be 100% supportive of his decision not to play.  Other players, who are on the bubble of a 2nd rounder, might want to play to improve draft stock.

12/05/2017 - 5:29pm Given that Peters has two years

on Patterson in Harbaugh’s offense. Peters shouldn’t get beat out by Patterson early in 2018 if Patterson is able to play.

12/05/2017 - 4:34pm Two best days when you own a boat

the day you buy it and the day you sell it...

12/04/2017 - 7:34pm I know that two teams from same conference is not likely

to happen.  But MSU vs UM would have been a great bowl game in Outback.  Place would be packed and ratings probably pretty darn good.  MSU getting smoked by OSU was not a good look especially since Michigan led OSU for most of game this year with our 3rd string QB.

12/02/2017 - 7:43pm OSU had a real bad loss by Iowa

and got trucked by OK at home.  Short of beating WI by 55, OSU needs to take their ticket to the Astro Bluebonnet bowl like the rest of us.  And to the two of you who knows what that means and got a laugh, your welcome.

12/02/2017 - 7:39pm The offensive line of GA

will steamroll OK Dline.  The big question, can GA slow down OK offense. If they end up playing, it will be must watch T.V.

I would have to go with OK because of Mayfield.  If Fromm had another year or two under belt I would lean toward GA as they are a much more physical team.  Mayfield's moxy is too much.

12/02/2017 - 7:35pm Agree with you 100%, it's

Agree with you 100%, it's just than there are more and more posters asking Harbaugh to change offense or "modernize".  Georgia looked a lot like Michigan tonight.  I think Michigan may be crazy good at WR and on D next year.  Again, all hinges on QB play.

12/02/2017 - 8:40am Looking back at M QB situation it

was much worse than I ever imgained in 2015.  Malzone and Gentry were 2015 recruits.  Malzone a hold over from Hoke and Gentry was best M could get in 30 days. Speight and Morris were holdovers and Harbaugh had to get two transfers (Okorn and Rudock).

1. Malzone - Future Transfer

2. Morris - Transfer

3. Okorn

4. Rudock - NFL

5. Gentry - TE

6. Speight  - Transfer

Of those 6 Rudock was money the second half of 2015.  Speight was solid for about 6 games in 2016. In 39 games we have had good to stellar QB play for maybe 12-15 games. It's amazing we are 28 and 10 in that span.  When you see it in front of you, it makes realize what a mountain Harbaugh had to climb with QB situation. The most IMPORTANT position on field was the worst for depth and talent.

Now, with Peters, McCaffrey, Milton and so on, I will start to judge at this point. I think Harbaugh has done as much as anyone could with what he had to work with. He did his best to make a dire situation serviceable. If adding more depth with Patterson is an option, do it. If somone doesn't like competition then I am a bit worried having that QB leading M in front of a 110,000 strong.

11/22/2017 - 2:42pm +21 to -15 at time of this post

Actually thought many of you would be a little less tolerant to my "wall" and "opinion".  Yes, I am a Harbaugh and Michigan fan. But I see the warts of this year like anyone else.  I do get frustated, like many of you but choose to step back and look at whats real. Michigan has real talent both on field and sidelines. At the risk of offending some of you, Michigan was in decline before the loss to App State. Michigan was a team lost in the coaching wilderness for many years. Tennesee and Nebraska are two examples of making wrong coaching choices. I am thankful for Harbaugh.  Our worst year may be this year with the youngest team in CFB in the toughest division in CFB.  That is pretty DAMN good considering where this program has been.

I just don't understand trashing players and some fans giving up.  The team I have seen EVERY week this year is better than most teams I watched for the 10 years before Harbaugh. The B1G is a lot tougher than it was in 70's, 80's and 90's when essentially it was the Big Two.

11/22/2017 - 1:13pm Neither should see field before

bowl game.  OSU's D line is by far the best Michigan would have faced this year.  Even if Peters is cleared of concussion protocol I would not have him on field.

11/18/2017 - 8:02am Just re-watched 2016 game

Michigan D should be dominant. 2016 Game was not that close due to missed field goals and red-zone opportunities.  Feeling this game for Michigan.  If their is a blowout it will be Wisconsin who gets blown out.

11/18/2017 - 7:26am Been waiting for some game day

motivation.  This is the most game day anticipation I have had since PSU (outcome will be better!).  Go Blue!

11/18/2017 - 5:50am Michigan, USC, Virginia

to cover and UNDER M vs W.

11/18/2017 - 5:40am Cowherd, Klatt and Neuheisel

are all Harbaugh supporters for the most part. I actually think Cowherd was one of the best ESPN had on sports talk radio. Sometimes I would not like his narrative, but often he was right. He was one of the first to call Michigan a dumpster fire during the Hoke era. Of course, I didn't like to hear it. I would get defensive, but unfortunately it was true.  Conversely, he said day one Harbaugh would bring a National Championship to Michigan.  The best sports talk people don't say things just to provoke but are not afraid of being provocative. I understand some people dumping on certain sports personalities because they are not that thoughtful and/or insightful.  But Cowherd, Klatt and Neuheisel all provide perspective that is different than the sheep mentality of most sports analyst or sports talk show hosts.

11/17/2017 - 5:28pm 16 13

Good guys. GO BLUE!

11/16/2017 - 6:37pm Michigan plays 12 or 13 times a year

There is usually only one or two games that may come into a conflict with a significant obligation. Events like birth of a child/grandchild, health of a loved one, marriage of a very close friend, relative and/or loved one.  All those things take precedence and make UM DVR appropriate.

General family gatherings?  Either they have the game on or they will be without my company for 3-4 hours.  My wife has ZERO issue.  There are not many things in my life where I am a little selfish.  My wife, when she make plans will always ask me what time Michigan is playing.  She knows that is 3 - 4 hours out of my week for 12 or so weeks out of the year where I just want to pace the floor, tell the T.V. how much more I know than our coaching staff and yell an occasionally obsenity.

At the end of the day, everyone needs to have a little something in life that is a healthy escape. And Michigan football is my escape.

11/15/2017 - 7:26pm The REAL MSU

showed up vs Northwestern and OSU.  I predicted they would go 1-4 in last 5.  I didn't expect them to beat PSU.  I thought they would lose to NW, PSU, OSU then split with the last two.  I still expect them to lose to one or both (Rutgers/MD).  If I had to pick one game they will lose, it would be Rutgers. Rutgers and Maryland will be playing to make their season.  MSU will be going through motions.

11/15/2017 - 10:08am How many QB’s has Rison

Played with? Much of the DPJ issue is QB. Need to get the “one” like Rudock in second half 15 or Speight for most of 16. When QB plays well this offense is a machine.

11/15/2017 - 8:04am Pains me to say it

But Michigan is where it belongs. Beat Wisconsin and should be 15. Beat OSU then 10. Really simple, beat two good teams. Do I believe score would be different if we played the first seven games over right now? Yes! Only game I think M still could lose is PSU. But M would destroy AF and Cinci and beat MSU soundly.

11/15/2017 - 7:56am Tarik, Nico, DPJ, Oliver

With M TE’s And elite QB. M offense will be freakishly Good over next two years. I have been watching M football a long time. Combination of talent and scheme Michigan is building a dynasty the likes we have not seen since the 70’s.

I am going to say it. Better than Bama and OSU. Why? Scheme on O and defense. Yes, Bama and OSU have a little more talent. But their offensive scheme of zone read and chuck and duck is pedestrian compared to M’s offensive scheme. The reason M offense was so ugly earlier this year was the complexity on a young team. You can see the team blossom before our eyes. Still work to do, but what I am seeing is a team with very young elite talent, elite coaching and building to elite execution. Still a ways to go but wow. Imagine an offense that travels regardless of weather, opposing defense or stadium

Gang, we got a taste of this offense the second half of 2015 with less overall talent. Do you remember how M finished the season with Rudock and destruction of a good Florida team? That’s where this team is headed only Better!

I, like many of you was worried earlier this year. Michigan is a good team right now, not great or even very good. But greatness is coming. Starting in Bowl game and next year this team will play like one of the best teams in country.

11/13/2017 - 9:36pm This will be a hard fought game

Three things:

1. This will be the best team Wisconsin has played so far this year

2. Michigan's D feasts on non-athletic QB's.  Look for 8 in box to stop run and put our corners on an island.

3. Best defense wins.

11/13/2017 - 9:15pm This is Badgers first test

Iowa away from Kinnick is not very good.  If Wisconsin beats Michigan it will elevate their standing in the playoff committe. Iowa does not move meter.  An average Michigan team with a very good defense will move meter.
