Stings, but you move on.  He and Charbonnet were my two favs.  Harrison is a luxury.  MIchigan needs some DT's.

Nothing anyone can say.

Oklahoma would be PSU in the B1G east.  2 or 3 losses every year.  Michigan would be in playoff for second time if they played in the Big 12.  Alabama is going to crush Oklahoma.  I watched the OK vs TX game.  Alabama will win by at least 21.

This, I read on another forum that they wanted to offer but didn't have a slot.  Apparently Karlaftis is rock solid to Purdue so they are looking to fill that slot.

I just want to say I think it's great to see over 600 posts on a Tuesday late night Basketball game thread.  Nice to see the excitement over this team and some healing after the football regular season ended.

12/05/2018 - 8:30am Buckeye renewed recruiting…

Buckeye renewed recruiting strategy since Meyer "retired".  I mention this yesterday on the another thread. Took one day to start Harbaugh to NFL rumors. If you don't think there hasn't been a huge shift in the B1G in the last 24 hours, you are mistaken. Like it or not, and it is painful to write this, Meyer is one of the all time great college coaches. Short of Nick Saban, anyone you hire will be less than Meyer. Within three years, Buckeye message boards will look like Michigan's after an OSU loss. OSU is still loaded and will be very good next year. Any competent coach will win 10 games with that roster next year.

I find it comical that Day "wins" three games without Meyer and people think there will be not much fall off, that OSU will just reload year after year.  Go tell that to USC, go tell that to the fans of Bama from 1997 to 2006.  Yeah, even us Michigan  fans from 1983 to 2000 would have never thought The Game would look like this for the last 18 years.

Got to believe there are a few egos bruised over the Day hire. There are some seasoned coaches on that staff. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a few jump ship including schiano.

12/04/2018 - 11:59am I get all the frustration. …

I get all the frustration.  Harbaugh isn't going anywhere unless he wants to or some unforseen scandal.  Fact.  Quite honestly, I hope he coaches another 10 years at M. Obviously, the results vs OSU and lack of B1G championship is very dissapointing.  But the talent gap has shrunk and the development of players has greatly improved.  Harbaugh is a very polarizing fiqure but not for the wrong reasons.  He seems to run a clean program.

Our QB situation which was horrible in 2014/15 and has greatly improved.  Michigan is one of the highest rated teams for viewership in all of college football.  Harbaugh has increased Season Ticket sales. Michigan has a lucrative deal with Nike.  Since Harbaugh arrived, Michigan is relevant again.  Again, it's hard to watch at times losing to OSU, not winning a B1G.  But, I just know this team is headed for great things. Sometimes you have to go through some pain before you can build the character of winning elite.  Michigan was on the decline when Rich Rod took over and it got worse.  Hoke walked into a talented team and a weak B1G but didn't have what it took to build a legendary program.  Harbaugh walked into a dumpster fire and a B1G conference on the rise.  Michigan's biggest rival had one of college footballs all time great coaches and loaded with talent.

Michigan's time is coming.....In 15 years, there will be people building a statue next to Bo.  That statue will have a headset, a M sweatshirt and khakis.

12/04/2018 - 11:34am Well the best coach in the…

Well the best coach in the B1G now resides in Ann Arbor.  Time for Michigan to go on a 10 year run of B1G's and a couple Natty's.  Time for the OSU's, MSU's and PSU's to start threads whining about why they can't compete with Michigan and that Harbaugh is evil and start rumors of him heading to the NFL. Michigan Mondays will be a joyus read. I will enjoy reading all those wailing and gnashing of teeth posts on other forums.

One quick question, will the B1G championship next year be any less satisfying without Meyer? No!

12/04/2018 - 10:46am Big difference playing in a…

Big difference playing in a league that doesn't play defense and where their second best team lost to Marylard two years in a row.  Oh and Maryland isn't even bowl eligible....

12/04/2018 - 10:38am Ryan Day is an uproven "Head…

Ryan Day is an uproven "Head" coach.  It is a whole different ballgame when you are responsible for everything.  How many "hot" OC's flame out as HC's?  Pretty high percentage.  The fact he took the team for 3 games means nothing.  Likely OSU will have a good year next year as there is too much talent not too.  They will lose to Michigan for the first time in years and doubt will creep in.  "Meyer never lost to Michigan"....  Bank on it.  OSU is coming to the Big House next year and there will be a reckoning... Now, after losing to Michigan who is playing for the B1G championship, the doubt creeps in even further.  All of a sudden the recruiting classes are not as loaded.  Next thing you know they lose 3 games and Day is under fire......

Guys, you don't want to be the guy who replaces a legend, you want to be the guy that replaces the legends replcement..

12/03/2018 - 5:23pm I agree, in the big picture…

I agree, in the big picture the game is not meaningless.  When I say meaningless, it is from the perspective of a 2019 high draft pick.  In which case, I 100% understand why somone would not want to risk their draft status (Jake Butt) for a game that has no national or conference championship implications, thus meaningless.  As a competitor, no game is meaningless, as a fan, no game is meaningless.  But for someone who has a big $ future at risk for a game that only lines the pockets of the sponsors, NCAA and colleges, the game is meaningless.

12/03/2018 - 5:16pm Bring on 12 team playoff. …

Bring on 12 team playoff.  Top four get a bye. Reduce regular season by 1 game.  Eliminate Divisions in P5's and increase cross over games.  Can you imagine if NW would have beat OSU or Pitt beat Clemson?  Sorry, a 8-4 team in a weak division should not be conferance champ if they happen to catch a much better team at the right time.  Don't get me wrong, I like Northwestern and I think Pat Fitzgerald is a good coach.  I just think a team that loses all three non-conference games (Akron, Duke, ND) can play for a championship.

12/03/2018 - 3:23pm 2018 Metullus showed great…

2018 Metullus showed great improvement in pass pro.  He actually is a very good safety. I think PFF rated him pretty high if I am not mistaken.  Be careful what you ask for.

12/03/2018 - 2:16pm I don't think the importance…

I don't think the importance of this can be overstated.  Next years Oline will be one of the best in B1G. Runyan, Bredeson, Ruiz and Onwenu.  Got a couple potential road graders in the wings to take JBB's spot. Things are really falling into place for offense to be elite next year.

Rutgers is lucky to be in East Division.  At least when they play OSU, Michigan and PSU they have opposing fans fill up their stadium.

This and big money for the institutions and something for us fans to watch during the holidays.

12/02/2018 - 5:35pm Meaningless in that no…

Meaningless in that no posibility of a B1G championship and/or National Championship.  Nothing Rashan would do in the Peach Bowl will change his draft status.  For some players they could improve their draft stock and maybe make sense.  For a first round pick, makes no sense unless it is for National Championship. I once felt differently about this.  But in reality, the NFL career short enough and I totally get why a player would make this "business" decision.

12/02/2018 - 5:29pm Rashan came back and still…

Rashan came back and still didn't look 100%.  As long as Michigan was in hunt he was there.  Why play in a meaningless game and risk a huge payday?  It doesn't make any sense. How anyone could make this observation is beyond me.

Hey, lets just whip an SEC team and look forward to next year.  No sense in complaining about what we can't change.  Let's support the team, not their fault...

12/02/2018 - 1:43pm I am with you.  Michigan…

I am with you.  Michigan ended up 22nd in nation in scoring.  Not bad considering they played in tough division and had a tough schedule.  If Don Brown didn't build so much good will, the pitchforks would be out for him.  Got to be honest, the defense cost Michigan the OSU game.  Why there is so much venom for Michigan's offense is beyond me.  Why there is so much venom for Pep is beyond me.

Michigan was 50th in scoring in 2015 with Fisch and Rudock.  2018 was a huge improvement over 2017.  Michigan's offense was very young in 2017. The offense is getting much closer to where we all expected it would be.  I can tell you now, the offense will be much better next year with or without Pep.  The simple fact is that the talented wide recievers will be maturing, the QB situation is now solidified.  Michigan's offensive line will be vastly improved.

I get frustrated like many of you.  The OSU game was heart breaking on so many levels.  Last I checked, I didn't see Pep advising the defense that gave up 62 or miss any tackles.  Yes, I am waiting for Michigan to beat OSU and get that monkey off all our backs.  Until then, I will remind myself of the Rich Rod and Hoke years and be thankful Harbaugh is here and whoever he deems worthy of a coaching position I will support. Of course I will yell at the TV and b***h about the play calling and think how I know better in my cozy arm chair.

12/01/2018 - 8:54pm 100 this... The offense will…

100 this... The offense will carry the defense next year.  Michigan brings back almost the entire offense.  DPJ, Nico, Black, Oliver, Bell and have some potentially explosive RB's in waiting.  Either Shea or McCaffrey will do just fine. Another year under Warinner and the Oline will be even better.

Every now and then you read something that makes total sense.  Sometimes it's hard to find in this day and age. Good post Ziff

12/01/2018 - 2:30pm Many of you make good points…

Many of you make good points.  However, next years offense will be lights out with either Shea or Dylan.  You all witnessed tremendous growth from the WR's.  That may or may not have much to do with coaching as it does with maturity (freshman to sophomore).  In addition, the QB play last year was not exactly inspiring which also made WR's look poor. Expect NC, DPJ, Bell and TB to be insanely good next year.  If Gentry comes back he will be an All B1G TE.

I have tremendous confidence on next years offense. I am concerned about defense as Michigan is probably putting at least 5 starters in NFL (Winovich, Gary, Long, Hill and Bush).  In addition, other than Aubry Solomon (who I think could be a star if he can stay healthy), Michigan is going to have some serious concerns at DT.  Another concern is corner.  I think Dax is a day 1 starter, but it will be a young and inexperienced secondary.

Fun to watch for casual fan.  For me, I would not want this defense at Michigan...

12/01/2018 - 11:13am Not a lot here to disagree…

Not a lot here to disagree with. EVERY game, players miss blocks, RB's miss a cut or QB's miss reads. Those mistakes did not cost game.  Michigan didn't break tendacies on offense or defense.

If there was not a legitimate chance for a visit there would not be offer extended.  Michigan is a serious contender if they get him on campus.

12/01/2018 - 7:04am The players will be…

The players will be motivated to finish strong.  The guys are all competitors.  Coaches don't have to motivate them.  My biggest concern for bowl game? Coaches putting together an effective scheme. The coaches are the ones that need redemption after OSU not the players.

12/01/2018 - 5:59am The point is Shea can throw…

The point is Shea can throw the deep ball.  Also, one more year in system will show HUGE dividends. Getting timing down takes repetition. These chuck and duck offenses, (like OSU/Oklahoma) are not predicated on long ball but get the ball to playmaker in space on short quick passes. With almost everyone coming back on offense, Michigan's offense could be scary efficient and dominant.

11/30/2018 - 7:23pm Anyone who doesn't hope Shea…

Anyone who doesn't hope Shea comes back is not thinking clearly.  Shea Patterson + Better Oline + DPJ + NC + TB + BELL + EVANS/Charbonnet/Turner + Eubanks/Gentry = Best Offense in B1G.  Those men will be a machine.  For most of the season Michigan's D was dominant in 2018.  Next year, the Offense will be dominant if Shea comes back.  Shea will be in the Heisman conversation if he comes back.  Nico, DPJ, TB and Gentry will likely be NFL bound next year.  Offensively, next year will be Michigan best since Harbaugh arrived.

11/29/2018 - 7:26pm Michigan lost to OSU because…

Michigan lost to OSU because Don Brown didn't have enough tools in the  tool box.  There is not one person on this or any other forum that thought the Michigan defense would look so inept.  Of course, most of us thought OSU would score, but not pick apart the Michigan's defense at will.  Everyone thought the Michigan Dline would put pressure on Haskins. The good news is Don Brown will take it personal as he did PSU and there will be an OSU beat down in the Big House in 2019.

Unfortunately, Michigan picked the worst time to play their worst game and OSU picked the best time to play their best game. Just like if Purdue played OSU the following week after they lost, is there anyone here that would think that score would be different?

11/29/2018 - 7:16pm This is true, but the Oline…

This is true, but the Oline last year would have made Fromm and Lawrence look like busts.  Sorry, but even the first game this year saw Shea got rocked.  Of course, as the year went on, things changed dramatically for the better.  Thank god they did.  If Warinner continues to improve the offensive line play, Michigan QB's are going to look a lot better.  I honestly wanted to see Peters get more play after McCaffrey went down.  Be nice to see him behind a solid offensive line.

11/29/2018 - 5:28pm Bailey would have been a…

Bailey would have been a nice pickup.  He reminded me of Brandon Peters with his size and mobility. Good arm, average athleticism. Apparently Bailey is a good leader. I would like to see us keep recruiting more guys like, Patterson, Milton, McNamara and McCaffrey.  Guys with above average mobility and strong arm. If you wonder why one of the reasons Andrew Luck was so successful, he was a much better athlete than most people realize.

11/29/2018 - 4:03pm QB attempts were down as…

QB attempts were down as Michigan could actually run the ball.  The year prior they were forced to pass more.  One other often overlooked point, Patterson was in the Michigan system for how long? Not even a year.  I think that's why McCaffrey looked so good when he stepped in, he had been in the system much longer.  I agree, Harbaugh's system is not chuck and duck like OSU and Oklahoma.  But how many National Championships has Bama won without the prolific passing game?  I am not saying Michigan shouldn't open up the passing game more.  What I am saying Michigan scored a lot more points this year with a ballanced attack. Also, kept the defense off the field.  Why do you think Oklahoma is giving up so many points?  There defense is gassed due to being on field so long. Michigan didn't lose to OSU due to lack of offense........

11/29/2018 - 3:06pm Guys he recruited?  Michigan…

Guys he recruited?  Michigan was a QB dumpster fire when he arrived.  He had to get a couple grad transfers, one worked out (Rudock) and one didn't (Okorn). Shea was pretty darn good. His only QB recruit that played any appreciable time, Peters, may or may not work out.  McCaffery looks to be the real deal.  Too soon to tell on Milton and of course McNamara.

Not making any excuses, but from where Michigan was in 2015 to where they are now is light years difference at EVERY position.  When the succession of great QB's from here on out start their parade to the NFL (Patterson, McCaffery, Milton, ETC), all of you doubters can stay off the bandwagon.

11/29/2018 - 12:27pm Ding, ding, ding.  We have a…

Ding, ding, ding.  We have a winner.  Well stated. Of all the positions on field that stars matter least is Oline. Wisconsin doesn’t load up on 4 and 5 stars and look at All Big 10 Oline this year.

11/29/2018 - 11:26am Poster with zero points says…

Poster with zero points says Bama offer not committable.  Sheesh....  I really don't understand many of the comments made on forums.  I get it, many are frustrated after the Saturday debacle, but Olineman are the biggest crap shoot going.  I do now believe Michigan has a very capable Oline talent scout (Warinner).  Let's give the coaching staff some credit.  And lets be encouraged by this development.
