yup. we have had PSVue the past 2 years. Almost no streaming issues, good picture and free DVR service is awesome. you can stream using Apple TV, Roku, fire stick, PC, phone, etc.

I agree with this for the most part, but not as an absolute statement. I lived in NJ for 14 years and listened to Mike Francesa quite a bit in the afternoon. That guy is as legit as they come and is basically the Godfather of Sports Talk Radio. Mike is who he is, has a well-thought out reason for his takes, and is enlightening as well as entertaining. I haven't agreed with him on everything but he is head and shoulders above everyone else in the radio profession and I think literally every person in the industry would also agree with me. His show talked sports from 1-6:30pm every M-F, ruled the ratings and didn't have any gimmicky features to it - just educated, interesting sports talk of the day. After a brief retirement, he is back in the 3-6:30pm slot and you can catch him on Tunein or online if you don't happen to live in the tristate area. Truly one of a kind talent.

Seth wrote this as a response to another thread with the same type of issue:

The points system is a module written by a guy who doesn't put much work into it (on the old site we used a different and better one but that's discontinued). So we're paying to have a new module written but it wasn't going to be ready with the site. For the time being points are counted but they don't appear right away.

Looks like they are working on it and will eventually get it sorted out. I'm in the same boat, FWIW

Note to the rest of the board that’s having a heart attack over Harbaugh’s comments - read umbig11’s post first and then decide how you want to respond.

06/14/2018 - 9:37pm This take is right on.

This take is right on.

I appreciate the longform posts and the content on this site dwarfs ANYTHING ELSE out there. I came here because the writing and analysis are absolutely fantastic - every time I login I hope that there’s a new longform post from Brian, Ace, etc. - but I stay for the threads and interaction on the board with other fans. In fact, I think like most regular MGoBoard junkies, there are users whose comments, ideas and takes on any given issue are appreciated just as much as the guys who run the board. The Board is the anchor of this site and gives it a character and feeling of community that makes this site more than the sum of its content. This may have started out as Brian’s “baby” but it has evolved into more than that because of all of us who visit here regularly.

So yeah, prioritize the crap out of the board and commenting experience. That’s the lifeblood of the site. Everything else is just details.

This is really good to hear. And I think practically speaking, having a good app will increase site traffic and multiple page views like nothing else. If I have an app that I can just click to immediately check the site for updates and check the message board when I have a minute of downtime, I will do it 20 times a day. If I have to click a bunch of times and wrestle with a clunky mobile website, I find that I don’t want to bother because it will take too much time.

Much appreciated. Glad to know you’re working on it and I can be patient just knowing that I’m being heard. And I’m fine waiting longer if my situation can help the devel team figure out how to remedy this for more users.

I don't know if I can put together a top three yet but here are some top names:

I'm surprised Hugh Jackman isn't getting any love here. In terms of breadth of scope, you have everything from Wolverine in X-men to singing and dancing as PT Barnum in The Greatest Showman and Jean Valjean in Les Mis, to Leopold in Kate and Leopold.

I agree with Denzel and I think Kevin Spacey is also right up there. Others I would consider in the conversation are Forrest Whitaker, Sir Alec Guinness, Gregory Peck, Jimmy Stewart

To be blunt - the Banner is cosmetic as far as I'm concerned - the real stuff that matters are things that impact the ease and frequency of use. I couldn't care less if the current banner stays up forever as long as the site gets easier to use and bugs are eliminated.

I, too would upvote this if I had not lost that ability with the site upgrade (another thing that is extremely frustrating to me).

If we know that they know that there are issues and that there is a plan to address them, it decreases worry/anxiety and makes it easier to be patient with the process. I think we all know (at least conceptually) that it's a big thing to upgrade the site and it's expected that stuff won't be perfect and there will be issues...but if nothing is acknowledged by the MgoBlog staff, then I think the automatic assumption is that our concerns are just seen as bitching and moaning about "changes" rather than real and valid critical feedback.

If there is one thing on this thread that the Staff considers, I hope that it is this - publish a list of known issues and anomalies and even a rough estimate of how/when they should be addressed.

All of our current OTs have the build but as we all know, that's only part of the equation. He has to be able to grasp the playbook, know where to be and what to do.

06/07/2018 - 8:43am I will echo the predominant…

I will echo the predominant theme and request that major effort is put into upgrading the mobile experience. As developers, Brian and Co. are probably used to interacting with and experiencing the site via desktop or laptop computer. I’m willing to bet that the majority of their viewers primarily view mgoblog via their mobile device. It’s how everyone primarily accesses Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and basically any other online product. That means an inferior mobile experience will jeopardize viewers and likely diminish traffic. If it takes me 5 or 6 taps to do something (like quickly find my previous posts and who has reacted to them) that used to take 2 or 3 taps, then I’m going to tire of the chore and just stop checking as regularly. The site content is second to none but the way your consumers access it matters, big time. Abandoning the app is a shortsighted and poorly thought out idea, especially when it comes to the board and commenting on articles.

I for one would like to see who initiated a post before I open it. It was a nice thing on the old site to see when a trusted user had something to share vs someone...not so trusted.

I like the copy of "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine" but the layout looks like it was done with Word Art on MS Word 97.

The layout/design for the other options is pretty milquetoast. Maybe Nike/Jordan can hire away some of the creative people working for Adidas - I feel like their stuff is usually creative, interesting and edgy (in a good way).

Anyone else missing all their MgoPoints after the site upgrade? I was by no means rich, but now I'm back at zero and can't vote.

05/24/2018 - 8:36am Whoa there.

Let’s pump the brakes on Milton. Umbig11 reported that Shea is clearly in the lead, followed by Peters and Mccaffrey.

Peters and Mccaffrey are pushing Shea because they know the playbook better, having studied it and practiced with it longer. Shea is pushing the other guys with his talent and playmaking ability. It’s great to hear positive reports about Milton as a true freshman, but let’s temper them with reality and the actual inside reporting from people in the know. If our best option against a strong ranked opponent in the first game of the year on the road at night is a true freshman, then we are in trouble because our 3 other QBs have been extremely overrated.

05/22/2018 - 3:58pm Comments on the article on

Comments on the article on 11W fairly predictable. But one common thread is their respect for Warinner. Most put down UofM’s OL but many have caveats to the effect “it’s possible for Warinner to work a miracle and whip the OL into a competent unit.” Feeling even better about the OL due to the respect they obviously have for Warinner.

From the top of my head and in no particular order:

It’s a Wonderful Life - it’s not just a good Christmas movie. It’s a great movie, period
Braveheart
Casablanca
Cinderella Man - underrated and under-appreciated film with a great story and superb acting
The Empire Strikes Back
Roman Holiday - Audrey Hepburn is innocent and beautiful and Gregory Peck does a great job
The Usual Suspects - fantastic ending you never see coming and a great collection of actors. Spacey is excellent in this.
The Princess Bride
Office Space

05/13/2018 - 10:41pm Because OL, receiving corps

Because OL, receiving corps and running backs were very very good on these teams. Makes it much easier for a young, talented QB to be successful.

Remember, Jim was hired very late in the game and basically did not have a recruiting class his first year. That year, he recruited a grad transfer from Iowa who played excellent ball for us. His first full recruiting year produced Peters - a RS Freshman last year. Second year recruiting produced Mccaffrey. Third year Milton. That’s a solid slate of QB recruits. I think many people forget that Jim didnt recruit the class for the first year he coached.

Let’s give the “Jim sucks at recruiting and developing QBs” narrative a rest. It takes time to turn a big ship like this and we are only in year 3 of the guys Jim has recruited.

05/10/2018 - 9:07pm OL play is important, but I

OL play is important, but I think the better measure of our offense’s growth will be determined by the combination of QB, OL, and WR play. Last year, we had significantly subpar play out of all 3 position groups. That’s a fact. And arguably the OL was not the worst of those 3 units.

This year, we will have significantly improved QB and WR positions. Even if OL shows no growth YOY (but I think they will), we will have a much better offense because our running game is good and opppsing Ds will have to respect our passing game.

04/10/2018 - 10:20am Really liked the series and

Really liked the series and the insights it gave into the program. The personal stories were done well and you felt like you really did get to know the coaches and players.

Random takeaways:

Man, Jack Harbaugh needs to give ALL the pregame speeches! For real.

I so badly want to just kick it with Don Brown. Love that he has chosen to coach college ball because of the impact he feels he can make forming young boys into men. He is a DUDE.

O'Korn had exactly the demeanor you wanted to see from your starting QB. I wish he had the game to go along with it. But I really, really respected how he carried himself as a young man throughout the year. Impressive.

Interesting how the struggles of the O Line were not focused on at all in the documentary. Maybe it just made for better TV to focus on other storylines, but it is interesting to me that it wasn't even hinted at when following the QB storyline. Does this mean that the QB play was a much bigger problem than the OL play?

I got sick all over again watching us go up 14-0 on OSU and then go on to lose The Game.

Pep came off as very likeable and seemed like he knew what he was doing. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens next season.

I feel like putting up WANTED posters to ask the AA community to continue the search for Brandon Peters' personality. Pep - can you please, please get him to spend some time with Winovich - maybe some of Chase's personality can rub off on him? The QB needs to be a leader of men. I could not even see that Peters had that buried deep inside of him.

03/28/2018 - 2:28pm Fantastic!

All great articles. But reading the one on Jordan Poole, I have to pull this awesome nugget out to share.

Makes beating Houston and man bun all the more sweet.

“MILWAUKEE — Moments before Houston’s Devin Davis attempted the first of two free throws to seal an NCAA Tournament win over Michigan, Rob Gray, the Cougars’ high-scoring star, approached Jordan Poole. He smirked. Poole, a Michigan freshman, had just checked back into the game with 3.9 seconds left and his Wolverines trailing by two.

“Yo, Poole, where you from?” Gray asked.

Poole winced, gritted his teeth and spit a response.

“Milwaukee.”

“That’s nice,” Gray said. “You ‘bout to go back to Milwaukee.”

Nope. Rob Gray, you ‘bout to get your mouf shut.
