Offense starts off slow and Northwestern gets a quick score to start the game. Northwestern comes out fired up wanting to “win one for Larkin,” and their defense plays well in the first half. We go into halftime up 17-7, and this place is melting down.

Defense completely takes over the second half, the run game somewhat picks up and ends decent day against a very good Northwestern front seven, and Shea makes a few great plays in the second half, continuing to find DPJ for a couple of scores, and one to Gentry as well.

OL still has work to do, but by and large they hold up against a defense that has a pulse.

I was at the game but I think I've become so jaded that even when I see it I'm reluctant to believe it.
