Best case scenario... 15-0. Why? First, Don Brown's defense, nuff said. But what will be the story of the upcoming season that will lead to Michigans 1st NC since 1997 is Warinner's "simplified" approach immediately paying dividends as the O-line finally transforms in to a death-trap gauntlet for opposing defenses. Starting with ND, they hold their own which will frustrate Kelly & Co. to no end when their gameplan of "pressure bust pipes" falls to the wayside and instead wears their defense down by the end of the 3rd qtr. From there, Kelly, desperate not to lose the spotlight game of the week, will implode on the sideline as his team falls under the efficient, relentless attack by both Michigan's offense and defense. After ND, the offense has 5 games to build on that confident showing and solidify it's meat-grinder mentality as they lead the B10 in fewest sacks allowed and rushing yards heading in to the Wisconsin game... who they will dominate! Things get tricky here because now the national media is in overdrive on the Michigan hype train and detractors are screaming "smoke & mirrors", and the team has a messy 1st half @ MSU that looks like the inevitble epic fail is coming. But the ghost of the past 11 years have finally been excised from this team, from this program, and Michigan fights back for a semi-comfortable win @ MSU. The last 4 games are won by an average of 14 points... yes, including PSU and that school down below as this Michigan team rolls in to the CFP.
Worst case scenario... 11-2 with losses to ND and PSU but we beat MSU and OSU this year plus the bowl win!
|04/14/2018 - 2:14pm||Well done Moe!||
I don't know that I've ever read or heard of a more sincere, thoughtful farewell letter by a student-athlete than what Moe Wagner posted in The Player's Tribune.
Well done Moe! You represented the Block M with passion, grit and excellence, on the court and off. Looking forward to following your career and watching you make those dreams come true! Go Blue!
|04/13/2018 - 12:24pm||Congratulations Adam!||
All the best to you and the growing family! btw, sleep is overrated compared to diaper changes, bottle feedings, a little vomit here and there.... Wait, What?
|04/02/2018 - 11:36pm||A great season!||
Congratulations to Coach Beilein, the staff and players on an amazing, successful season. Just wasn't in the cards tonight but this a championship program. Go Blue!
|04/02/2018 - 11:54am||Villanova is due...||
Villanova is due for an off game triggered by a suffocating defense that hasn't let Michigan down all tournament. Go Blue!
|04/02/2018 - 11:40am||79-69||
Per my bracket, I'm sticking with the final score between Michigan & Villanova... Michigan wins 79 -69! It'll be a shock to the rest of the world but not to this team and its fans. Go Blue!
|02/07/2018 - 9:18am||Is Beilein outsmarting himself?||
The tried and true method for attacking a zone (match-up/1-3-1, 2-3), is to put one of your bigs at the free-throw line, dish it in to them and let them survey the cutters, perimeter shooters or threaten the shot from the foul-line, all of which opens up possibilities for the offense. We've seen this work successfully with McGary and Morgan in the not too distant past.
That's why it's puzzling to see Beilein continue to run his motion offense with overloads against these zones... without much success. Why isn't he planting Wagner/Teske at the free-throw line and utilizing their height and threat of makable shots or passing from there to breakdown the zone?
|11/27/2017 - 3:58pm||Championship Legacy v. Championship Culture||
There is a championship legacy with the Michigan football program... more distantly rooted in B10 Championships, but there hasn't been a "championship culture" with the football program for well over a decade and that's what Coach Harbaugh is trying to re-establish with NC's in mind.
The more delusional parts of the fanbase question "why can't we reload like Alabama, Clemson or Ohio State?", without considering how Alabama looked those seven years before Saban, oh, and his #1 recruiting classes for the past seven years; or Clemson's 35-year drought before Dabo coupled with 20-years without a 10 win season. Granted, Ohio State has been able to maintain a championship culture from Tressel to Meyer, but no such culture existed at Michigan under Rodriguez or Hoke, just the incessant touting of "ancient" accomplishments to anyone who would stop and listen, as if by osmosis this would lead to more championships.
While Michigan's proud legacy is a great foundation to build upon, we can't ignore the wreckage done to the program and because of that, there was never going to be a quick fix. We as fans need to be patient and support Coach Harbaugh as he re-establishes a championship culture within the program through recuiting, staff, etc., for years to come.
|11/17/2017 - 3:43pm||24-20||
|11/05/2017 - 1:08pm||To finish 11-2 or 10-3||
would be an undeniable success considering the turnstyle at QB; the youth at virtually every position; O-line problems; and this young team not folding in the face of adversity... like say Florida.
Win out or go 10-3, we've seen enough to know that next season should produce a B10 championship and in contention for a NC.
|11/02/2017 - 10:17am||Give v. Take||
I think M-Dog is right. This sounds like the coaches haven't been impressed with "practice" Peters, his lack of "want to" that coaches talk about. Maybe the coaches didn't want to have to give Peters the job... they wanted him to take it.
|10/25/2017 - 8:23am||You were saying?||
Not that it would've mattered.
|10/22/2017 - 3:12pm||The idea that the ACC with||
The idea that the ACC with traditional powers Miami, Florida State, and yes Clemson, are not as strong as the top heavy B10 is "Pu-leeze." In the last 5 years, the ACC has two National Champions compared to the B10's one. The ACC has as many appearances in the CFP as the B10, so to say they are not as powerful as the B10 is also "Pu-leeze."
As far as your "false equivalency" claim, your opinion is based on your personal perception of Harbaugh, not fact, highlighted by your belief that Harbaugh doesn't inspire his players. Clearly you've decided to ignore the player's accounts to the contrary and your contention that Harbaugh has made things worse... despite all evidence to the contrary, just proves that your hurt feelings have overtaken your ability to be rationale.
You're entitled to your opinion but don't flatter yourself into thinking it's a basis to make a factual argument.
|10/22/2017 - 10:00am||The Dabo Swinney path||
Double post edit. Apologies.
|10/22/2017 - 9:59am||The Dabo Swinney path||
It's looking/feeling like Coach Harbaugh's path to Michigan's NCs are going to go the route of Dabo Swinney... 4-5 years to rebuild and restore a sustainable, winning football culture.
This team is young, talented, competitive, and hungry to win. There's no reason to believe Coach Harbaugh won't continue to bring in the same mold of young men and coach them up to have success. That being said, I think we all have to accept that the "structural" problems with this program run deeper than any quick 2-3 year fix due to 7+ pre-Harbaugh years of 1) program schizophrenia, 2) lack of player recruitment & development, 3) resting on laurels, 4) bad coaching, and 5) a culture of mediocrity that was allowed to develop.
For all of the directionless madness pre-Harbaugh, this team, this program is on the right track now. Holes are being filled through recruiting, competition reigns, and we have some of the best coaches in football, period. They'll be a beast next year and even more feared the years that follow. Can't wait... but we have to.
|10/21/2017 - 10:05am||24-20||
24-20, Michigan with the win!
After the last two poor outings, O'korn embraces the "Alex Smith" game manager role, taking what the defense gives him, shows pocket courage, and doesn't burden Michigan's defense with sudden change turnovers and bad field position.
More power alignments minimize pressure, mental mistakes don't plague the team, Michigan wins!
|10/14/2017 - 3:16pm||Or Harbaugh is so scared||
that O'korn will turn it over he's playing ultra conservative
|10/14/2017 - 3:01pm||Quick snap||
A lot of teams have a quick snap call to catch teams substituting. Just saying.
|10/14/2017 - 1:21pm||50/50 balls||
Why are we throwing them to our shortest receivers?!
|10/08/2017 - 9:15pm||In that case||
would love to see some pro-set formations with screen/flat/wheel route options & unbalanced lines.
|10/08/2017 - 9:08pm||Confidence is a fickle thing||when you've been on a team, in a locker-room, & week to week you know as a team that you have glaring weaknesses that could cost you games against your top foes. I think that's what's happening with this team after weeks of dealing with O-line problems that domino in to QB play, receiver routes, the running game, scoring points, etc. This team has the attitude to be dominant but the same problems each week aren't giving them the confidence that they are dominant. The good win against Florida coming out the gate didn't really shake anybody because... well, first game excuses. But O-line struggles against Cincinnati, AFA, & Purdue of all teams could not have been lost on this team when they see physical teams like MSU, PSU, Wisconsin & Ohio coming. I think they'll cover & then some against IU but the coaches better hurry up & start putting this offense in more successful positions for the whole team's sake.|
|10/07/2017 - 6:28pm||28-3||
|09/27/2017 - 12:38pm||When it becomes legal||
When it becomes legal, no problem. Until then, especially when it's being used to give some programs an unethical, unsportsmanlike advantage over others, it's an underhanded, dirty bribe.
|09/27/2017 - 12:18pm||Agreed!||
Why would Beilein want these players... and yes, their parents, involved with the program if they were willing to be involved in this kind of dirt.
Keep bringing in high character recruits so UofM can avoid this kind of scandal and the corruption of the program's culture.
|09/24/2017 - 1:22pm||And until||
And until the NFL owners mandate that their employees must stand during the anthem, the players have the 1st Amendment right to continue to protest peacefully by taking a knee, raising a fist, etc.
|09/24/2017 - 9:31am||The nightmares of Barkley||
The nightmare of Barkley getting isolated on McCray would have me up all week leading to the PSU game... but I have faith that Don Brown will have a sufficient amount of kryptonite in the game plan to slow Barkley down to under 100 yards total offense.

|09/23/2017 - 7:11pm||The Swagger meter||
The Swagger meter is rising! ⬆️⬆️⬆️ This game, finding an offensive rhythm, is huge for this young team going forward. Confidence in the offense can start to match the confidence in the defense.
|09/23/2017 - 6:57pm||Okorn's mobility||
Okorn's mobility is what's needed until the o-line gets worked out. His ability to extend plays has saved the game... so far
|09/23/2017 - 6:18pm||Because||
Because we have QB's who wait for the receivers to come open instead of throwing them open.
|09/16/2017 - 1:50pm||Too many special athletes||
Too many special athletes on this team not to get the ball in their hands. Stop the "vanilla" offense, open up the playbook and let the athletes win games!
|09/16/2017 - 12:51pm||6-7 Tight End||
Might be worth trying to pass the ball to Gentry in the endzone
|09/15/2017 - 7:52pm||38-13||
|09/13/2017 - 6:32pm||Alabama||
Alabama because that would be a great indicator of the success of Michigan's restored winning culture under Harbaugh, the impact of the coaching and the depth of the recruiting/development... while simultaneously erasing the embarrassment of the 2012 game.
Next, Standford because the hype factor of Harbaugh playing his former former team would have talking heads exploding around the country. Lastly, there's two, UCLA and Georgia because the recruiting wars with both over the past few years needs a "Who's your Daddy" moment.
|09/09/2017 - 11:49am||Everybody plays!||
Cause it's just that kind of dominating day! Go Blue!
|09/02/2017 - 6:35pm||Speight?!||
