Great landing spot and I've always admired Pat Fitzgerald as a coach. When you know beyond question you are outmatched in resources but you still find ways to win by being a great coach and developer of people and then you stay when you know you could have ridden the success of the program to bigger places! I remember his sideline antics a few years back in a game against Michigan. Didn’t really care for all the whining and crying he was doing in that game.

Northwestern is such a weird program. In the last 5 years, they have two division titles and three one-win conference seasons. I doubt any other program in the country comes close to that level of volatility.
Seems to me it is whether they hit on QB, like they did with Seiman and Thorson.
This move says a lot about the young man. Attending both Michigan and Northwestern is impressive. Plus he's following the trail blazed by George Jewett. I love it.
