07/02/2018 - 5:00pm Huntsville (Madison) is…

Huntsville (Madison) is where I lived from 1989-1996

I had a great job, great friends, and I loved the public clay court tennis center. I absolutely despised the weather. Winter in Denver is better than winter in Huntsville! Trips to the Redneck Riviera were fun, and I like Greenbriar BBQ.

I also did not like the fact that Huntsville is on the eastern edge of the central time zone. By the time evenings were cool enough to enjoy, it was getting dark at 4:45.

Come to Colorado. We have room for one more.

07/02/2018 - 4:43pm Crazy hail (to the Victors)…

Crazy hail (to the Victors) storm is right. It's about the only severe weather we get.

This came through my skylight two weeks ago, two layers of plexiglass. I'm getting a new roof. That's a quarter at the bottom of the picture for scale.

I'm near Parker Rd and Orchard Rd, just east of Cherry Creek State Park. Picked this spot for the schools, but wish I was a bit closer to the mountains.

07/02/2018 - 2:52pm Denver area, 1982-1989 and…

Denver area, 1982-1989 and 1996-present

  • Great weather, tons of sunshine (even in the winter) low humidity
  • Great skiing
  • Great outdoor stuff in general, hiking, biking, camping etc
  • Very few bugs

  • Can't drive to Ann Arbor for games
  • I miss summer cottages on the lakes (I'm originally from Grand Haven)

If you like a 4 season climate it does not get much better than this.

Also, see PoseyHipster's comment.

06/22/2018 - 5:41pm Colin Cowherd is the poster…

Colin Cowherd is the poster boy for "Sports network time filler" for when no real sporting events are actually happening.

He is literally just filler, nothing more.

06/18/2018 - 2:53pm When I heard 'Blue Endzones'…

When I heard 'Blue Endzones' I was a little nervous. I am not a fan of strangely colored footfall fields. Since it was just the endzones, so I was also cautiously optimistic.

I think they look awesome! Sharp. Classy. The blue needs to be dark, because it will definitely fade.

06/10/2018 - 4:29pm I live in Centennial on the…

I live in Centennial on the east side Cherry Creek State Park. Cherry Creek school district is great which is why we choose our location. Parker, Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock are all nice areas as well. I lived in Castle Rock in the 1980's when it was a tiny town. Property taxes are higher in Douglas County so if that is a concern be mindful of that.

Good luck in your endeavor.

06/01/2018 - 12:56am Pacifica

Rented a Pacifica a year ago last December to drive from Denver to Albuquerque for my Mom's memorial service. My three kids are now big, ages 26, 21, and 21 (twins) at the time. Since we all have smaller cars now and rarely travel any distance (like to Michigan) with all 5 of us together anymore we thought it would be smart to rent something with some space. None of us are mini-van fans, but we all agreed that the Pacifica was a pretty sweet ride for the 900 mile round trip.

I even got pulled over for speeding in southern Colorado jamming out to Trout Steak Revival on the sound system. Fortunately, the nice state trouper did not feel compelled to give a ticket to a man on his way to his Mom' memorial service.

04/15/2018 - 11:56pm But it's all right now....

in fact, it's a gas...

...gas, gas, gas.

04/09/2018 - 1:15am Ricky Green

He shocked everyone with his quickness and speed. Many thought Dave Baxter would be the starting PG in 75-76, because he was a really, really good basketball player. However, in Ricky's two years at Michigan he was a honorable mention All-American in '76 and then first team All-American in '77.

Ricky was Michgan's sparkplug, leading us to 51-11 (25-7 and 26-4) record when he was here. Damn good was he, and those two teams.

03/12/2018 - 1:27pm Please be credible!

This is great if correct.

02/15/2018 - 5:46pm + 1 to you

Couldn't make it any easier than that.

01/31/2018 - 1:48pm Organically

Moved to Michigan when I was 4. Then this happened:

My dad was a Princeton grad, my mom was an Oregon State grad (the good OSU) so I had no connection to Michigan. I always have loved sports, so when Cazzie appeared on our black and white TV I was hooked. Mom was great, she was not even upset when I rooted for Michigan over Oregon State in the 1965 Rose Bowl.

Attending Michigan for college was icing on the cake.

01/30/2018 - 3:11pm I spy what you did there.

I spy what you did there.

01/17/2018 - 6:58pm We are with you brother!

Prayers are on their way.

01/09/2018 - 3:36pm Hang in there Ace

We are all with you in spirit, and love the joy you bring us all through the blog.

12/29/2017 - 12:50pm Wipe Woody

Woody was the coach I loved to hate, so part of me was sad to see him go. Hating on Earle Bruce just wasn't the same as hating on Woody.

I was a student and worked at Campus Corners when Woody sucker punched the Clemson player. This left the store sitting a couple cases of Woody Hayes toilet paper. The boxes were still on top of the big walk-in cooler when I left a couple years later. I wish I would have taken a few rolls for momentos.

12/20/2017 - 7:23pm Thank Mo!

Looking forward to some more belly rubs!

12/20/2017 - 1:27pm Today is tomorrow

12/07/2017 - 1:16pm Happy B-day Ace!

Young man, you are one year closer to not being a young man. But it's all good. Keep up the great work.

12/04/2017 - 12:31pm Thanks Brian

You created a great landing spot for real fans. Been visiting since about 2007. I was hooked from the start. Once I read my first UFR I was completely addicted. UFRs are like crack cocaine and heroin to me.

It's been great to see the site evolve with features like 27 (28) tickets, podcasts, and bringing Ace, Seth and others.

I am also impressed that you've made the effort to attend coaches clinics, and bring that knowledge to MGoBlog. Through you I have also found Chris Brown's Smart Football, and all the fancy stats.

Everytime I meet a new Michigan fan, I always spread the word. Visit MGoBlog.

12/01/2017 - 2:28pm My condolences to you and EYB

These are the most trying and difficult moments to get through in life. My heart goes out to you both. May you both be blessed with MGoBunldes-of-joy in the future.

12/01/2017 - 2:02pm FSU facilities vs Oregon facilities

If the reportedly subpar facilities at FSU were an issue for Jimbo, would Taggert be willing to leave Oregon's Nike infused top of the line facilties to take that job?

Would talent rich Florida be enough to over come the deficiency?

11/22/2017 - 4:55pm Pretty cool!

Thanks for posting this OP.

11/19/2017 - 3:56pm If Jedd is looking for a HC gig...

Tennessee is open. ;-)

11/17/2017 - 2:09pm Made these back in the 60s

We used Hersheys and marshmellows, but not PB. Kids, big and small, will love these. We always wrapped them in foil because we were putting them into a camp fire.

10/04/2017 - 5:04pm Yup, clean!

09/14/2017 - 1:45pm Great feature

It's like a limited audio/visual UFR on select plays. It's always up at along with other good stuff including highlights, complete games, pressers, etc.

09/13/2017 - 12:18pm 1996 Olympics

Reminds me of the story about the person from New Mexico trying to buy tickets for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He was told, since he was not from the USA, that he would have to contact his own national olympic committee for tickets.…

09/13/2017 - 12:09pm Agreed

I lived in 'Bama from 1989 - 1996, this is not unusual. Lots of great people in AL, but there is a definitely a segment of the population that has a unique perspective you won't find elsewhere.

It was bad enough living through one 'Bama national championship when I was there, I can't imagine the agony of being there through the Saban run.

08/30/2017 - 11:32am I like it!

Doesn't go down on 1st, 2nd, .... 6th contact.

What does a kid have to do to get a 4th star? Break 7 tackles on play!?

08/25/2017 - 11:43am 1975 - 1980

12 packs of beer in paper bag - no problem, most common form of alcohol

Kegs - 1/4 barrel (pony kegs 7.75 gal) not uncommon, downside here is you had to carry the keg out to return it to Campus Corners.

08/09/2017 - 4:14pm We need UFRs!

This shows that without UFRs our lives, our existance, is not complete. I laughed when I read this:

Besides, what if we don’t have an updated Henne Chart (cough)?

08/08/2017 - 7:04pm Perhaps you meant John Hartford

07/30/2017 - 7:30pm Prayers and love...

... to Sam and the Webb family. Please take your time to grieve and heal together with your family. Your Michigan family will be here for you when you are ready.

07/25/2017 - 12:00pm CTE is the elephant in the room

I love football, I loved playing football in HS. I wasn't very good or big, but I treasured every minute because there was no way I would play when I got to Michigan. In my brief career I had my lights turned out twice in games (10th grade and 12th grade). In both of those games I continued playing, which was dumb.

With all my head banging, I steered my two sons away from football. I would have let them play if they wanted but I never put them on that path. I told my family, when I die, I want them to cut my brain open to check for CTE before they turn me to ash.

07/14/2017 - 12:24am Johnny Bench

Hit a monster HR to the upper deck in centerfield. Years ago I read somewhere that he said it was one of the longest HRs he ever hit but no one remembers it. i'm guessing it was over 450ft.

07/11/2017 - 10:36am Best web site ever

So they can do what they want. At first I didn't read them, but I've warmed up to to the feature. I often skip to the end to see who they drafted. Easy way to keep up on where M's talent fits in with the rest of the B1G.

07/07/2017 - 11:07am It was a low place

Whatever, I'm feeling much better now!

06/15/2017 - 12:27am Maize

I was disappointed with the white in the 70's and was glad to get back to Michigan Maize. I realize that the white pants made an impression on young JH, and now he's earned the right to put our team in them. So it's white until he says maize. I can live with it.

06/11/2017 - 12:20am Last lap was insane!

For anyone who has a FloTrack Pro account can see about 2 minutes, including the insane last lap when Jaimie came from last to first and then had to hold on. She was not one of the favorites so this was a huge win for Michigan.…

BTW - Katie Rainsberger, the Oregon freshman who finished 4th, is the daughter of Michigan alum and Boston Marathon champion, Lisa Larsen Rainsberger (maiden name Lisa Larsen Weidernbach).

05/26/2017 - 1:04pm The Accidentals

Saw them Wednesday night in Boulder. Great stuff, looking forward to more from them.

05/15/2017 - 5:40pm My guess is no

MDen is still a competitor to UGP and The Bo Store. I think MGoBlog's loyalty still lies with Rishi and Ryan.

05/15/2017 - 5:21pm Really?!

I've been to Rome and to Columbus. I'd like to go back to Rome.

05/08/2017 - 3:56pm Agreed

I was thinking the same thing. The faithful all know about Khaleke, but he is still basically unknown to the outside world. He got some run at safety and special teams in 2016, but now he's basically Peppers.

05/08/2017 - 3:32pm The other Hudson

I can't believe Brian did not pick Khaleke! In Don Brown's defense he could be that breakout ABT player.

05/01/2017 - 1:40pm Nope

I graduated from GH in 1975, then was in Ann Arbor until 1981, then off to Colorado where I live now. So most of my GH connections are from the 70's. One of my best buds was a surfer and knows Vince and he turned me on to Unsalted. I think Vince is about 10 years younger than me.

05/01/2017 - 11:47am I grew up in Grand Haven

"Unsalted" is a salute to Vince Deur, also from Grand Haven, who made an excellent documentary on surfing in the Great Lakes.
