I wonder this all the time. Not specifically what would have happened if Moeller has stayed, but rather what if Lloyd hadn't been coach.
Was Lloyd the great manager whose steady hand helped with the national championship, or was he the conservative old man who let all that talent go to waste?
I think both can be true in this instance.

Not saying I hate him.
He's a great coach who bled Maize n Blue... until he threw it under the bus.
He can be both things.
Also, I wouldn't use the national championship defense. This is the same logic that people at Penn State use to say Joe Paterno wasn't that bad.

It's not a rich rod thing.
Anyone who got hired was going to be sabotaged by Lloyd unless the university hired one of his buddies.
|05/16/2018 - 6:49pm||Lloyd putting himself above||
Lloyd putting himself above the program and sabotaging the search for his successor sent us into a 7 year tail spin which negates nearly all the good will he built up.
Regardless of your positions on Miles, Rodriguez, and Hoke, Lloyd had several opportunities to act in the best interest of University and program. He instead chose to let everything burn.

Agreed. But it's not a 1 to 1 correlation.
Whether a player is fastest on the team or lags behind definitely matters. But I'd like to hear more about whether a player is actually good at his position and wow-ing the coaches more than I'd like to hear about them being .01 seconds faster in the 40.

Am I the only one who is getting tired of people equating gym metrics with on-field success/readiness?
Especially in the case of DPJ. He's a freak in the gym and in the measurements, but people over-hyped themselves for guy who was still a freshman and had tons to learn on-field and in-game before he becomes a gamebreaker.
I think people are too easily distracted by these things.

I agree, that it's a big insane to hold the tourney in NYC, it is definitely to our benefit as opposed to most of the Big Ten.
We definitely have more people here than the Iowas, Minnesotas, and Nebraskas of the conference. Besides us, I feel like only PSU has a similar NYC presence (yes, that includes Rutgers/Maryland)

I assume it's a prestige/consistency thing. I know a lot of people love to talk about "their seats" and how they know all the people in their rows, etc.
But from a purely economic standpoint, it seems like a tough sell.
|10/04/2017 - 10:16am||Also, looking at this game,||
Also, looking at this game, it looks like the majority of people will end up getting below face + PSD.
I'm assuming that ticket holders are also taking a bath on the non-rivalry games.
So what's the value prop for season tickets any longer?
I have a baseball partial season ticket package and because I travel tons for work, I end up having to sell about half my tickets per season, and I'd estimate:
I could easily replicate my ticket package by buying a la carte for less than what I pay now. The only reason I've kept my seats is because when the team makes the playoffs, I get first access to pre-pre-pre-sale and can usually flip any tickets I don't use to pay off the package.
Without a playoff incentive, and with alternating years of no homefield rivalry games, what is the selling point of the season package at the Big House?

I know I was tempting the weather gods by bringing her to the night game... looks like I chose poorly.
