A chance to grab a win on the road against a ranked opponent next weekend.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:23 PM ^
Fuck Tejas. They struggled at home against a weak Baylor team.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:42 PM ^
They did lose their starting QB in the first quarter.
October 14th, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
They also lost to Maryland. And don't try to tell me that we should give them a break because it was the first game of the season and they've improved a lot since then.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:46 PM ^
Yeah, we’re only #6 by 2 points - WTF!

Shane Buechele is "Sam Ehlinger X -2"
October 14th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
Iowa looked good yesterday.
October 14th, 2018 at 5:46 PM ^
Mich vs Texas: Common opponent, bitches.
October 14th, 2018 at 7:26 PM ^
1146 voters have access to Marylands results to date.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
Too much respek
October 14th, 2018 at 2:17 PM ^
Yes, but sparty got some respek for a team with losses to ASU and NU, so we good.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:20 PM ^
Agreeing to play a west coast time zone team at 11pm their time vs 2am our time was one of the dumbest moves I've seen Dantonio do. If I were an AP member I would give them a break for that loss, they were in control of that game until their wheels came off about 1:30-2am our time.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:24 PM ^
That game kicked off at 8:00 their time, 11 ours.
I might give MSU a break for that except that they've looked mediocre most of the season and that game was no exception (when you only score 13 points, you aren't really "in control" so much).
October 14th, 2018 at 2:30 PM ^
Hey man, you try scoring a bunch of points while holding onto 90% of your offensive playbook...
October 14th, 2018 at 2:42 PM ^
I c what you did here
October 14th, 2018 at 2:59 PM ^
Are you drunk?
October 14th, 2018 at 2:15 PM ^
Fuck yeah!
Looks like it's time to stick our dicks in the mashed potatoes.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:19 PM ^
This gonna be that kind of party?
October 14th, 2018 at 2:24 PM ^
All of us?
unzips
October 14th, 2018 at 2:41 PM ^
We'll..that went sideways quickly.
October 14th, 2018 at 9:37 PM ^
I’m going to start 10 more accounts just to give you more upvotes.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:18 PM ^
Ok here's our chance. Ranked team on the road. Beat sparty
October 14th, 2018 at 2:19 PM ^
Loving that we get to meet a "ranked" team on the road next weekend.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:19 PM ^
MSU at #24. Time to end that 'ranked team on the road' losing streak hot take.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:23 PM ^
It’s not a hot take to just state a fact.
October 14th, 2018 at 4:15 PM ^
Hot takes are often factual. But they are cherry picked and gerrymandered to make a rival team look bad. Most of that losing streak has nothing to do with this year's team. It's a substitute for actual analysis of the current situation.
October 14th, 2018 at 3:08 PM ^
They'll say it doesn't count because MSU won't be ranked end of season.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:20 PM ^
They must have been listening to Herbie last night cause that's exactly what he suggested for the top 6 this week.
Just keep winning and everything will take care of itself.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:58 PM ^
The top 6 is pretty obvious.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:21 PM ^
Now that’s more like it.
We were the 3rd best looking team yesterday. The only teams that played better were Alabama and LSU.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:26 PM ^
Time to get that ranked road win monkey off our back
October 14th, 2018 at 2:28 PM ^
I might get negged here but I believe that's a touch too high. Two opportunities in the next 3 weekends to correct my thinking.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:34 PM ^
I won't neg you for it, but I'm curious to hear who you think should be ranked ahead of us.
October 14th, 2018 at 3:07 PM ^
Right. Rankings are all relative.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
I agree with you, 6 is high, though it isn’t unreasonable, and will feel more legit if we win the next two weeks. Partly, I think it was really lucky timing on our part to destroy #15 on the day that so many top teams lost. I’m guessing that many voters moved us up more than might have otherwise since they were already shaking things up so much. Had we beaten Wisconsin badly on an earlier week and barely squeaked by Northwestern this week, I think our ranking wouldn’t have been so good.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:46 PM ^
You need them to win two more games to be ranked 6? Sounds like too much standard for Michigan but not necessarily for other teams in the top 10.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:31 PM ^
That was very nice of State to squeak in the top 25 for a week. Looking forward to beating a ranked team on the road.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:32 PM ^
This is a bit absurd. I can only explain the high ranking due to ND being dominant... Thanks ND!
I think MSU should be higher... Beating PSU on the road is impressive.
Fuck rank, beat MSU!
October 14th, 2018 at 2:35 PM ^
I agree that beating PSU on the road is impressive, but they also have two losses to unranked teams, one at home. To be ranked higher you need a bit of consistency.
October 14th, 2018 at 3:46 PM ^
PSU also looked like garbage yesterday. And so did MSU. Someone had to win, but neither team looked very competent
October 14th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
But losing to NorrhWestern at home is unimpressive. What is their best win other than PSU? Indiana? Even that game was close. Need consistent games and wins
October 14th, 2018 at 6:46 PM ^
I think we're starting to see that maybe PSU isn't all that good. It's still a good win for MSU, but I was amazed when I saw PSU with an 8 next to them. That seemed absurdly high for a team that was in a dog fight in Illinois going into the 4th.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
Nice!!! We earned it. There is a good chance for us to "unrank" both PSU and MSU.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:34 PM ^
While it was a dominant performance last night, we definitely also got helped by four top-10 teams losing yesterday.
Huge test coming up next weekend. MSU has been foaming at the mouth for this game for the last year. If we start slow on the road again, we’re in trouble. We’re getting their best game.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:40 PM ^
I am much more confident that this team has the skill to start slow and win comfortably. They are just playing better. Even against ND they had a pretty good shot. One bad play in the fourth made it harder. Shea has more confidence
October 14th, 2018 at 2:40 PM ^
All our goals are there ahead of us. We'll likely have to deal with ND being a playoff team (they ain't losing a game this season -- no, USC won't beat them), but we can play in Indy for a shot at a playoff spot ourselves. But...we know what that will take. First, we gotta take care of business in East Lansing.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:54 PM ^
But they sure could lose to USC
October 15th, 2018 at 9:30 AM ^
I think Northwestern has better odds of taking out ND than USC. That'd be a pretty sweet win for Pat Fitzgerald.
