Tom Brady played for 20 seasons, drafted by Bill, named a starter by Bill, coached by Bill, and retained for 20 years by Bill. Including the roster around him.

Brady may be a hell of a partner and reason for Bill's success but that seems to have worked both ways. "Hey coach lucky 20 year run" seems like the silliest of hills to die on.

Atlanta will pick Belichick. over Harbaugh. I worry more that Harbaugh will expand the number of NFL teams he is willing to be the new HC for. I'd still say it is 50/50 Harbaugh is back at Michigan next season.

I think it is 50/50

Vrabel gets the Chargers and Falcon HC position or Harbaugh gets them both.

And its not even close.

Percy Harvin role, football team needs an identity, basketball team needs to play with toughness. Warde yada yada. At this point yall just filled your MGOBLOG bingo card. For your prize you win 1. either losing your head coach this year or 2. 11 NFL teams interviewing him next year.

If you're rooting for him to stay, any indication that he doesn't have a locked-in deal with the Chargers is a good thing.

Still a bit skeptical that his star shines as brightly in NFL circles as the media seems to think it does — though it's abundantly clear that's where he wants to be.

What happens during a second interview that doesn't happen during a first one? Surely, teams wouldn't have first interviews conducted by some intern in HR who didn't know the difference between play-action and a PlayStation.

Harbaugh is 60, Belichick is 71. If Belichick takes another job, and it looks like he will, he will probably be the oldest head coach in NFL history before his first contract runs out.

I'd take 60-year-old Belichick over any coach. I think the Falcons would be crazy to offer him at 71, though. And while he should get somewhat of a pass for the Mac Jones disaster, I think a younger Belichick would have recognized what Jones doesn't have by the end of his rookie year and found a way to move on.

The trend in the NFL is young coaches. Young with the ability to use modern technology and decipher all the analytics and work with players.

The reason the voters keep backing the older candidates is that oppo research is going to discover that everyone under 70 has likely done at least one Google search for "furry anime throuple" or something like that. You don't have to go full Tuck to screw up your political future.

Today's kids are in even worse trouble, though. They're thoroughly afraid of relationships with human beings and are increasingly turning to AI for relationships, apparently unaware that everything they type within said relationship is forever recorded for marketing purposes.

Atlanta may be different in that it's a promising team with an owner who likes to switch horses and just fired the latest young coordinator-du-jour. I worry that it's the perfect situation for Harbaugh, and he'll be attracted to the job, yet he'll never find long-term happiness there because the ownership is friendly, but will change on a dime.

I’ve posted this before, but it obviously needs to be mentioned again, because the silly narratives continue.

It’s not Warde. It’s not about JH not feeling wanted. It’s not about M giving him more love. Or more 💰💰! Or agreeing to the ridiculous requests he currently is making.

This is year 3 of this and there are only two irrefutable narratives here. First, JH wants to leave M & be an NFL coach. He would have left in 2022 & 2023 if an NFL offer was made. Second, NO NFL OFFER HAS EVER BEEN MADE SINCE JH LEFT THE 49ERS!

Stop worrying about this. No NFL team is going to offer JH a head coaching position. Three reasons: 1. No owner or GM is going to cede the control JH will demand. 2. Our boy Jim is an odd duck at best and a pain in the ass at worst to deal with from an owner/GM/AD point of view. 3. NFL trend is for young coaches. In their 30’s & 40’s, not 60.

And one more wrong narrative. JH has the leverage. Wrong. Warde & Michigan have the leverage. They can sit back and wait. In the highly unlikely occurrence of JH going to the NFL, no right minded person is going to blame them. If he stays, he’s already under a contract that doesn’t expire for a couple years. They will make him a reasonable extension offer and he will sign it. He’s not going to retire or go to another university.

Relax and wait a couple weeks. Jim and his chickens and Jolly Good Fellow will return  it will be a four peat over the desperate O’Brien/Day led Buckeyes, another B1G championship and a bye in the 12 team playoff. GO BLUE!!

This is a refreshing take.  I'll add that this is now a do or die moment for JH and the NFL.  His star is never going to be brighter than it is now after winning a natty.  And let's be realistic, this roster is not set up for another run at the title next year.

Let's say the Chargers and/or the Falcons offer JH this time, but they give him terms they will give to Vrabel.  Does JH take that, just to get his foot in the door?  All this talk about control and what not, no offer has been made.

Everyone is saying that JH has all the leverage but it's not true.  The likely NFL outcome is that he gets an offer, but on far weaker terms than he wants.  He will then have to make a decision.  If he decides to pass this time, UM should force him to make a decision about staying at UM without these NFL dalliances.

My guess, though, is that he takes a lesser NFL offer.  If it doesn't work out he's in the door again, and he can always go through the NFL revolving door.

This is my opinion and it means dick but the NFL sucks.

The state of college football is trending toward suck, and is a big reason I will not be as emotionally invested going forward. This title was perfect timing for my health.

Michigan should relax his time and attention standard and allow him to coach two teams.  With the right assistants, this could be done.

I got everything I wanted this season. I'm good for a long time now. If Harbaugh likes it here, I hope he can stay as long as he can do the job, but if he isn't going to feel complete without a Lombardi, I wish him the best.

I agree 100% with Solecismic (what does that mean?). These last three seasons have ended my worries about M football forever.

At age 68, it is highly unlikely I will see another NC. Two in my lifetime is frankly more than I ever expected.

With the 12 team playoffs, we have a good shot at being in the playoffs most years. We will continue to dominate the Spartans and will be competitive with OSU. The losing 18/19 days are over.

Looking forward to sitting back, relaxing and enjoying M football for the rest of my cotton pickin’ Maize and Blue days! The nervous wreck days are over forever!

And what a home schedule next year!! Incredible! I believe these are first visits by Texas and USC to the Big House. Life is beautiful!!

Mb saying harbaugh insists on bringing s&c coach Herb with him to Chargers which was one of holdups in negotiations. Maybe falcons give in and thats the way the chips falls. Michigan loses Herb and its a wrap on any type of player development. Big loss if that goes down.
