TP at Michigan
FanHouse at SI.com has this to say about Terrelle Pryor going to Michigan instead of Ohio State:
Ohio State lost. Perhaps it's finally time to admit that he is not a Heisman Trophy candidate. And that he, Michigan, and even the Buckeyes might all be in a better place were he wearing maize and blue.

Thanks, but No Thanks. I think we're all quite happy with the way things turned out with Denard. The Dude is PURE MICHIGAN!!

Don't want him even though it means a few more wins over the past few years. Denard is a sophomore who has a ceiling that hasn't even come close to being reached in this offense. As a person he is humble and truly is "All In". TP likes to give shout outs on Twitter to Lebron and just doesn't strike me as someone I would enjoy rooting for. When we really turn things around here it will be all the more rewarding knowing that it will be led by such a stand up student athlete.

It's definitely easier to cheer for a guy like Denard, but don't think if we weren't winning with Pryor at the helm that you would have a hard time cheering for him. It's all about winning.

Rich Rod would have utilized his skill set more than tressel, thats for sure.

was scratchy and oh so thin. At least when I lived in the dorms.
Did you see what I did there?
October 19th, 2010 at 12:42 AM ^
It's just, so, so true.
October 19th, 2010 at 1:22 AM ^
I don't know about the scratchy part, it was so thin it just broke.
October 19th, 2010 at 10:34 AM ^
If you tell us what you did, then we can't say "O I C WUT U DID DERE" in response. That's bullshit, dude.
October 19th, 2010 at 12:54 AM ^
could very easily be Cam Newton to Auburn...ask Urban Meyer how much he would like to have Cam right now. Yes Brantley is a good QB, but Cam size and athleticism makes it so much more easier for that offense to work.

I would have preferred to discuss toilet paper.

I would prefer not to have toilet paper that steals from me, steals from you, whatever.

I thought there might be a shortage crisis, so I decided to pitch in and air-mail a case of Charmain to the governor. No big deal. I keep a large supply on hand since I live in such a shitty state.
Next time I will read the thread before acting.
Attention Governor Granholm. Please stockpile the before mentioned case of Charmain for possible future shortages or personal visits to Ohio.

Most over rated QB in the nation . Kids a bum that can run and that is about it . Great athlete though

When we beat OSU this year, I wil personally write a diary about "what if Pryor came to Michigan" just to rain on the parade....
October 19th, 2010 at 8:33 AM ^
If we lose? An I told you not so? Or a "Pryor is great" post?
October 19th, 2010 at 3:19 AM ^
And actually trained Pryor? That'd be scary. All OSU fans can say is "what if"
October 19th, 2010 at 6:27 AM ^
I recall Tom Beaver of GoBlueWolverine saying on WTKA that " Pyror was never coming to Michigan" and that " OSU was always his #1 choice ".
The case is closed, he went to OSU. Let's move on. We have Denard and Tate and we can win with both of those kids.

Rich Rodriguez would have let Pryor do what he can do, and that's run around real fast and stiff arm people. He wouldn't have brainwashed the physical out of him either. Can you imagine us with a 3rd year starting running quarterback? TP has already demontrated that he can make basic reads atleast half the time, and with his ability, it would be bad news for the opposition if he went here. Instead he's at Ohio State, plays soft, and still makes bad decisions on complicated plays.

I have been saying all along that Tressel has misused Pryor. I also believe that Pryor was going to OSU all along and sandbagged Michigan under Tressel's direction to keep Michigan from recruiting a QB that year.
The last two years have sucked, and Pryor could have at least gotten the team to seven wins both years had he been healthy, but I would much rather have Denard right now. Back to Pryor, though, I hope Tressel keeps on misusing him. Most of all, I am waiting for the RR victory over OSU that gets the pendulum swinging back in the right direction for at least as long as Tressel decides to stick around.
October 19th, 2010 at 10:48 AM ^
Yeah, Ohio State is really screwing things up with Pryor...losing in the Fiesta Bowl on a late defensive breakdown and winning only the Rose Bowl during his first two years.
October 19th, 2010 at 11:07 AM ^
This talk about Pryor sucking is ridiculous. He's not perfect, but he's 26-6 in his career. I don't give a shit if he does shot put the ball and looks relatively clueless in the pocket. The results stand on there own. What is our record in that same time frame?
October 19th, 2010 at 4:11 PM ^
but he's 26-6 in his career
I'm pretty confident that any of the prior four or five quarterbacks in Columbus have had a similar, if not better, record. It's been said before, but it's worth saying again: OSU wins in spite of Pryor, not because of Pryor. All that system requires in order to win games is someone to manage the game who won't lose it (see Krenzel). But yeah, if you want to go on the team record alone, I'm sure that the plethora of talent that surrounds Pryor has nothing to do with it...
October 22nd, 2010 at 10:15 AM ^
success either. Troy Smith's WR's by draft round...
3x 1st (including a future Super Bowl MVP)
1x 2nd
1x 4th
1x 5th
He also had 1st and 4th round RBs and 1st round center. So...by that comparison, Pryor has a substantially less talented offense.
October 30th, 2010 at 11:32 PM ^
I wasn't aware that TP played defense.
October 19th, 2010 at 11:03 AM ^
on murders/kills and steals? I have Columbus raging at +50000 right now.
October 19th, 2010 at 11:21 AM ^
Here's a thought; what if we were hanging our hopes on Kevin Newsome right now? I haven't heard too much about Shavodrick Beaver lately either...
October 19th, 2010 at 11:42 AM ^
I am not so sure it would have worked out. Maybe it's the system, but if you watch Pryor, he is BAD on designed runs. Most of his long runs happens when he slips a tackle in the backfield, breaks contain and sprints down the sideline with his 4.3 speed for big yardage. IMO he is not a creative runner and is also not very good in space, lacking the ability to make people miss, which is basically what our whole system is predicated on. Yeah maybe we would have won a couple more games the last few years, but I think we are much better off with denard. OSU would probably have the same record without pryor. They have a lot of good skill guys on that team who are kind of limited because of Pryor.
October 19th, 2010 at 3:31 PM ^
I didn't want him from the beginning when it was obvious how dirty his recruitment was. For me it turned into, "I don't want him, I just don't want Ohio State to get him." We're better off without him, he's a moron. We saw the real TP against Winsconsin. His team had to dig out of a hole, not only that, they were forced to throw, the game was completely on Pryor's shoulders. Look what happened, he dropped back, and once his first read was gone he completely crapped his pants in the pocket and then would heave horrible looking passes. I would hope Denard wouldn't look that hopeless in the pocket after starting that many games with a defense like that.
Then after the game he had the balls to blame special teams for OMG! leaving him down 7 points!! Something even Chris Leak had no problem dealing with in the NC game. Pryor is talented, his record alone is enough evidence of that, but I wouldn't want him. The only thing that would have changed is we probably win 2-3 more games in 08.
October 22nd, 2010 at 10:21 AM ^
why were you worried about Ohio State getting him? What does OSU's D have to do with how he looks in the pocket? That is seriously one of the most bitter ex gf type posts I have ever read. If he sucks, you should be glad he went to OSU, that's it. Anyone claiming you didn't want him prior to singing with OSU is just a flat out liar. You sir, are a liar.
"How obviously dirty his recruitment was" LOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL show the vette picture!
October 19th, 2010 at 2:20 PM ^
Pryor would have been great to have in '08. We may look back on that one recruit 20 years from now as one guy who could have changed the course of history.

Yes, it would have been nice to have TP here, Yes it would have helped our program move faster, Yes RR was puttin the program on TP thats oddveious, but lookin back I think TP would have been considered for the Heisman by now because the way the offense is ran and how much TP fits it... but I will say this, somethin had to be said, or done for this young man in order for him to change his opinion the way he did...RR was goin to his Basketball games in the locker room and they had developed an oddveiously close relationship, but D Robs a BEAST.
