Naturally. People were fed up with the ticket increases, the less than great schedules (though that's Martin's fault as well), the silly PR gaffes, the horrendously bad attempts at modern marketing by idiot-in-chief, Hunter Lochmann, and the other low lights of Dave's era. However, if that was the cost of business for Saban/Meyer/Harbaugh-like success, people would have grumbled, called Brandon an ass in the parking lot, and watched Michigan roll to Big Ten championships.
But with those results? It just looked like Dave had zero idea what he was doing and was living off previous success while trying to implement his vision. And his vision for non-revenue programs still looks like a big question mark at this point, as few other programs have had success as a result of his actions.

Well, technically, I think Auburn did get caught. It's just that the NCAA is toothless and the SEC doesn't give a shit.
Nor should they in this environment.

Jeez Baloo, you've brought back literally every RichRod supporter from the days of 2010. This is vintage board material. I'm swooning with nostalgia.

The rare post that hits the "Why do we have so many out of state students" whine (read: money, higher academic profile, desire) and vague hints at xenophobia. Impressive.
|09/23/2013 - 12:30pm||That's some mighty big||
That's some mighty big optimism. I like it. But that's because everything else is so dismal and depressing.
|09/23/2013 - 11:12am||This article references the||
This article references the event you're talking about. The left side of the Badget line last year was very solid, but the right side was young and pretty inexperienced.
At this point, I don't know how anyone can definitively say this isn't somewhat on Funk. Ever since he lost Molk, the line has looked like absolute garbage. I don't know what is wrong with the interior line - if Bryant, Braden, someone, needs to come in - but it's clearly the major issue on offense.
|09/20/2013 - 4:24pm||Great, thanks.||
Great, thanks. I probably should just learn to look in your signature.
|09/20/2013 - 1:54pm||Seth, what is your email||
Seth, what is your email address again? I've moved since I received HTTV Football, and I don't HTTV The Rest going to my previous, terrible address.

So my sort-of drunk comment during the game, "Damnit, when are they going to call holding against them!" doesn't seem so crazy and homer-ish now? Good to hear.

It might have something to do with Buffalo Billiards being a terrible, terrible bar.
I'm all for the transition to RFD.

Aggies always seem like perfectly nice people...but I can't help but feel uncomfortable every time I see or hear about the cadets/yell leaders.
It all seems...kind of weird.

Sky is still blue, grass, green, and bouje is still very much bouje.

Of course if the refs had caught one of the most ridiculously blatant blocks in the back on a kickoff return during the Outback Bowl...yeah, that Ace Sanders TD is called back.
Which should have happened.

Avery being out two weeks is kind of really not good for a certain game happening soon. Can Tommy forget how to throw again please?

Jourdan Lewis could be our backup LCB? Hmmm. I know they'll play nickel in coverage more likely than putting him on the field, but yeah, freshman DB do not want.
No offense to Jourdan of course.

I enjoy the terrified eye of the Iowa DB. All hail the crippling fear that is encompassing this poor corn lad!
|08/21/2013 - 3:39pm||I don't know, I guess I just||
I don't know, I guess I just don't buy into the pre-season hype. I think Amara would have been a nice weapon to have this year, but he might have accounted for 20 catches at most, unless he was an absolute breakout star.
I keep remembering looking at Jackson, Savoy, and any number of other outside WRs that never panned out, despite their size and practice rumbles.
I do hope Darboh becomes a star next year, but I'll wait until he's making the catches.

He was all over South Quad too during that time period. Mostly in the cafeteria. Mostly...yech.

Gallon? Funchess? Dileo? The equally unproven Chesson? Saying he has no one to throw to is a bit on the ridiculous side.

So, I'm moving soon. When the Basketball/Hockey books do go out, how would I change my address? Should I change my address? Should I assume USPS will forward on package type materials to my new address if I do automatic forwarding.

Well, you did a pretty good job of unleashing the conservatives on this thread. Now it's all sticky in here.
|06/25/2013 - 4:21pm||This is the second time I've||
This is the second time I've seen a Wings fan say this, and I really don't get it. I mean, how often do you hear of Hawks fans pooping in coolers, or throwing shit at opposing fanbases. Just because we think Detroit sucks, does not mean there isn't at least grudging respect for the Red Wings.
Also, I'm not really sure what about Kane is particularly unlikable. Yeah, he's a bro, a drunk, and an idiot, but he's been 18 - 24 during almost all of that time. Would you rather he be Crosby? He also focused in over the offseason and lockout quite a bit, maturing a sizeable amount.
|06/25/2013 - 4:18pm||Ah what a beautiful win. I||
Ah what a beautiful win. I never had anything against the Bruins until this series and really enjoyed their win over the Nucks two years ago. But after dealing with Chara, Lucic, and Seguin this series? Yeah, fuck 'em.
|08/31/2012 - 11:50pm||If I might ask a question:||
If I might ask a question: I'm a Cubs fan. I do not enjoy the White Sox much. On paper, the Tigers should be about 10 games up over the White Sox (or, say Indians, games not played on paper, etc.). What would you Tigers fans most attribute to the problems the Tigers have had this season? Seemed like a real solid club heading into the season.
|08/31/2012 - 11:25pm||I wasn't a real college||
I wasn't a real college football fan until college. Rooting for Iowa and Northwestern when you stop jerking off on Saturdays doesn't count.
I rooted for OSU vs. Miami in '02.
Now I has a sad.

So Bell has been involved in 46 plays tonight. That seems totally repeatable for the entire season. No way he'll start coughing up balls or injure himself.
|08/31/2012 - 10:46pm||Even if Boise wins this game,||
Even if Boise wins this game, they are going to biff one of their conference games hard. This is probably their most vulnerable team in a while. Peterson is a damn good coach though.

Ehhhh, let's go ahead and wait on that one. I have no idea how good we're going to be, nor do we know if Nebraska has decided to have an offensive line or not.

Dion Sims is still a decent receiver. That being said, he looks like he weighs about 290 right now. That can't be all good weight.

|08/31/2012 - 9:26pm||You did indeed, but I don't||
You did indeed, but I don't know how it works for this game, since it's SEC refs and an ACC review crew. Regardless, they let the play stand, as they should have. No clear evidence.
|08/31/2012 - 9:20pm||Anyone just listen to Dave||
Anyone just listen to Dave "long-time SEC analyst" Neal and Andre Ware bitch about the video review in the NC State - Tenn game? My god, be a little more professional dudes.

|04/06/2012 - 2:43pm||Dave Sobolewski. Brian||
Dave Sobolewski. Brian recently said, "Sobolewski had an impressive freshman year and will take on big chunks of the scoring load left by Shurna." So bad, right?
But keep on telling everyone this team is going to be as good as 2003 Montana.
|04/04/2012 - 5:22pm||I guess it comes down to||
I guess it comes down to this: Is it better for Burke to make a money grab now, knowing that he won't be playing in the next two to three years without a major upgrade to his defense, as well as some of his offense? Or is it better for him to stay in college, where he might make more money later on, but will be on a larger stage (in terms of more teams seeing him, rather than just one in the D League)? Even if he scores highly in his basketball skills, as you said below, will his entire career and earning potential really benefit by jumping early?

Yeah I don't get it. Maybe just wasn't happy in Ann Arbor and wanted to go back to Green Bay?
