"Transfers were not immediately easy for me to consider, so here is some supporting non-sense behind my omission."

05/11/2018 - 6:01pm That was Peters' third year

That was Peters' third year with the program, it's fair to have concerns after what transpired last season.

Can't wait for this coaching search to get messed up.

Those offensive lines played in numerous Rose Bowls back when Gittleson was running the show.

02/20/2018 - 12:01pm Ken Holland turned nothing -

Ken Holland turned nothing - a goalie that is for all intents and purposes a UFA this offseason with his ridiculous qualifying offer and who had no intention of signing in Detroit - into at least a fourth round pick, almost definitely a third round pick, and managed to get them to agree to make that a second round pick if Mrazek some how defies his past two years' of performance and gets them to the Eastern Conference Finals, AND THEN another third round pick next year if Philly loses their minds and gives him a qualifying off this summer.

To think of this trade as anything other than a huge win for the Wings organization is crazy. Mrazek will be signed as a fringe NHL goaltender next year for no more than $2.5M.

01/28/2018 - 5:15pm All I could find in that

All I could find in that article is that their short list of candidates have deep ties to the university. I don't see any exceptions listed other than that it will be someone who is not currently on staff.

01/25/2018 - 7:54am Nobody is impugning his

Nobody is impugning his character, but unfortunately he could not get it done at a high enough level. That's just reality sometimes, and for some reason this board can only apply that to quarterback play.

01/24/2018 - 1:48pm Metellus managed to lose his

Metellus managed to lose his starting spot by the time bowl season rolled around. He did not have a very good year.

01/11/2018 - 8:40am Engineering is on North

Engineering is on North Campus, so it might be good to go look around up there and see what you need to spend as much time avoiding as possible when not in class.

The Diag is the place to be spending your flex time. The Law Library is a great place for silent studying, assuming the Law School hasn't completed their take over of the main study room yet.

01/07/2018 - 4:25pm How has Quinton Hughes been

How has Quinton Hughes been here? Living up to the hype? Watching today's game he stands out as a skater and decision maker at least. Seems to be the most likely defenseman to fall to Detroit in the draft given the prospect rankings available now (unless we hit lottery gold, fingers crossed).

01/06/2018 - 5:23pm The Tennesee Titans are in

The Tennesee Titans are in the playoffs and the San Diego Chargers are not. We need some sort of computerized voting scheme to determine the best six teams in each conference, this playoff structure simply won't do.

12/16/2017 - 5:12pm Well that would make a ton of

Well that would make a ton of sense with Jefferson at first glance since he majors in journalism. Patterson and Anderson are both LS&A at Ole Miss, so that doesn't really illuminate anything. This is probably the winner.

12/16/2017 - 5:02pm I've been trying to guess

I've been trying to guess what the problem is here. I know the NCAA has minimum requirements for high school graduates, but what's the problem here? Their grades are low enough to not transfer credits here but high enough to count as passing? As in they could be a junior with a terrible GPA at Ole Miss or a mid-year Freshman here at UMich. As far as I know Michigan doesn't have transfer requirement minimums, but I guess admissions could say no if they really wanted to. Those are the only guesses I've had that makes sense to me. I can't imagine it's possible that they're failing so many classes that they can't transfer but still qualify to play at Ole Miss. Anybody know/have a better guess?

12/02/2017 - 10:51pm This ^

People hated watching Babcock play both dump-and-chase along with neutral-zone-grab-and-hold hockey, but it was the best strategy available, even with two prolific puck posseson forwards in Z and Dats.

In Holland's defense, accepted rumor is that he was told to keep the streak alive, and the NHL's structure (along with every league that's not soccer in a European country) is such that you can't just stay on top indefinitely. I'm willing to believe he did the best anyone could given his marching orders. Regardless of that, time for wholesale change has come, if for nothing else than the sake of change.

Agree here completely. Woods needs to make a push for his job this year.

11/27/2017 - 12:52pm This board has changed a lot

This board has changed a lot over the past few years, but discussing and blaming the performance of parts of the football team on coaches at least partly responsible for their function is certainly not new. That might be this board's longest standing tradition.

10/22/2017 - 7:44pm I don't think it's

I don't think it's coincidental at all, but I think you're still right on the reasoning for why we have lost. More often than not night games are big games. Two of those games appear to be BTN flexes for margainal match ups, and those happen to be our only wins. Everything else was a prime time setting for a big game.

EDIT: Scrolling down it appears I'm late to the party. But for those of you reading this thread from the top down, definitely give me credit for this idea.

Ulizio should be alright, and we showed on the goaline when we want to shove it down your throat on the right side we're just going to slide Mason Cole over there.

Just observing as the game went on, Hill scared me a little bit. I only noticed him look back for the ball once. I think Watson showed the best ability on the day. We'll see going forward, it wouldn't really be a problem until we run into Penn State so he's got time to get more comfortable. Lewerke or anyone else coming up don't look like they'll be taking advantage of anything.

This comment reminded me of a thought I had during the game, so I've decided to leave it here:

It's a good thing for David Reese that he rebuffed Michigan, because he wouldn't have a spot here with Bush. What a game for Bush.

Total domination. If Speight can get the ball on target this team firts with a fifty point victory here. But I guess we were having similar discussions last year about Speight.

I had to assume he was making that claim specifically regarding the Browns, as he posted a top 100 ranking for prospects going into the draft and put Jabrill at #25, exactly where he was drafted.

04/24/2017 - 8:28pm Arsenal is such a big club

Arsenal is such a big club that the Premier League has begun to bore them this year, a trivial obstacle in the way of their FA Cup glory. Stan Kroenke will certainly make a slam dunk hire to keep this all star squad grounded.

But really, they usually get up for Lestah, and nothing gets the Arsenal bandwagon revving up like a successful FA Cup match.

04/24/2017 - 5:34pm Small Potatoes

We'll see if Arsene Wenger breaks out the cheque book to lift an up-and-comer from either of these scrappy teams and bring them to the big show like he did Alexis and Ozil.

If this class in the OP had mandatory attendance, then I don't know what they were expecting to happen. But if this was voluntary attendance then the kids who show up to not pay attention are idiots.

04/15/2017 - 4:24pm Speight probably hasn't lost

Speight probably hasn't lost his job to this point, but it would be nice to see him come out and take it on the public stage. It was grind time from the start of the Iowa game on last year, and he didn't exactly take the job and run away with it. Today's showing obviously does not help.
