All Time Favorite Michigan Football Players
It has been a recent trend on twitter to post your favorite players of all time for individual sports. Eric Upchurch tweaked this trend on twitter and posted a list that included his favorite michigan football players at each position. Following his lead, I recorded my own list and would love to see what others have. Feel free to copy, paste, and edit the list!

RB - Chris Perry
WR - Mario Manningham

You'd be singing a different tune about Gardner had Borges actually changed the goddamn play in the '13 game after Meyer called timeout.
Gardner was not a perfect QB, but he did everything his coaches asked him to and never complained. He went from QB to WR and back to QB again, after Denard went down and Bellomy started ahead of Gardner, in a critical division game against Nebraska, where Bellomy never should've been on the field in the first place. He started, got benched, started again, and never once complained about it. He did the best he could behind legitimately one of the worst offensive lines in modern college football history. He almost beat a top-3 OSU team by himself on a broken foot.
Gardner was a warrior, and while he did have his share of bad plays on the field, his coaches also routinely set him up to fail. Had Borges changed that play up, we'd be talking about Gardner's OSU performance as arguably the greatest single performance of any player in the history of Michigan football. It'd be the stuff of legend. Instead, we heard OSU players talking afterward about how they knew EXACTLY what play was coming.
I personally have nothing but good things to say about Devin Gardner. I just wish RichRod did not blow his redshirt in 2010. Would've loved to see Harbaugh get just one year with him.
"I just wish RichRod did not blow his redshirt in 2010." Gardner actually ended up getting a medical for that year.
I should've stopped to count. 2010 - 2014 is five years. Still, would've loved to see Harbaugh get his hands on Gardner for a year. We all saw what Gardner could do when he was truly on his game. I think Harbaugh could've brought that out on a more consistent basis.
Damn shame.

Probably because Greise was a game manager who did just enough to help our team get the NC, and Denard was a game-breaker saddled with some bad defenses and coaching that still managed to tear-up records. Oh, and he's probably the most likeable human being of all time.

S - Dave Brown What can I say, I'm old
Reading your list made me guess that you are incredibly young.
Which led me to thinking that it must be depressing being a Michigan Football fan of your age. Michigan football has been a challenging experience starting with the hiring of Tressel at OSU and really hit the skids once Bo died in 2006.
How many people on this thread were old enough to REALLY recall seeing a Big Ten title?
You would be correct, sir. Just out of college. Closest to seeing and understanding that for me was JT and the spot...
This is the first time I've ever been thankful to be old, but my offensive list is:
QB: Michael Taylor (the man just won)
RB: Tyrone Wheatley (Superman wore #6, not a cape)
RB: Butch Woolfolk (MVP in the 1981 Rose Bowl)
RB: Tshimanga "Tim" Biakabutuka (Honorable Mention)
WR: Anthony Carter
WR: Desmond Howard (Desmond was amazing, AC was better yet)
TE: Jerame Tuman (not the best ever but just killed it in 1997)
OL: Jake Long
OL: Steve Hutchinson (a bad man -- Shaun Alexander owes Hutch a lot)
C: Steve Everitt (I rember seeing the blood pouring out of him when he broke his jaw against ND in 1991 and he was back three weeks later -- he was an animal)
OL: John "Jumbo" Elliot
OL: Greg Skrepanak (with Elliot, the first two OL at Michigan well over 300 lbs that I could recall -- it seemed every OL to that point was 298 lbs or less)
OL: John Runyan (when most OL looked sorta over weight an non-athletic, Runyan looked like a 300 lb linebacker)
Woodson was absolutely special. I’ve never seen anything like that on a football field. He had his most amazing moments when they were most greatly needed and then kept on making them happen every game
QB Harbaugh
RB Wheatley (Easiest pick)
WR Desmond Howard
OL Steve Everitt
TE Jerame Tuman
DL Mark Messner
LB David Harris
CB Charles Woodson

can't believe it took this many posts for someone to say Everitt. Dude played the 1991 season with a broken jaw. 2nd team All-American in '92 anchoring the line that was opening up holes for Wheatley.

Anthony Carter
He was right there with Denard for the last 15 yards, or so. Should have at least attempted a tackle. Sure glad he didn't, though.
1. Steven Threet
2. Nich Sheridan
3. John oKorn
My favorite players because they are teaching me to be thankful.
