OT What's your favorite candy?
So is it OT season yet? Yes? No? Maybe?
Either way, I'm having an absolutely fucked day at work because our IT department's incompetency is Dave Brandon as CEO level. I thought I would kill some time by starting a heated MgoBoard debate.
What is your favorite candy and why is it Peanut M&M's?
I'm gonna go with Eye....
but I've always loved bit-o-honeys. They're the bee's knees, you know.
Also Heath / Skor
Yeah, both Heath bars AND Butterfingers are both highly underrated but damn good.
For me, it is not even close.
Though
j/k
obviously froze Reese PB cups
Not sure if it is my overall favorite, but I can pretty much never turn down Raisinets.
I've definitely accidentally eaten the entire giant box at the movie theater during just the previews.
Also, IMO Salt Water Taffy is tragically underrated. Wish good salt water taffy were more easily/widely available.
For the record, Snickers, Twix, etc. are all damned fine candies. How is choosing a favorite even possible? I have a huge sweet tooth, so I say yes to just about all of them...
Though I think they were better when I was a kid.
They are my go-to on road trips.
Charleston Chew. Anyone say that yet?
Peanut M&Ms, 100 Grand bars, Dove chocolate
This is my candy wish list. Too bad I'm in the midst of an "oh shit, I just packed on 10 pounds of stuff classified loosely as non-muscular and need to lose it ASAP".
Shocked nobody has said Mars bars. The real ones, that foreign shit, not the American version with the almond on top. The kind you gotta go to Canada or the UK for.
reese's pieces or peanut M&Ms
Candy corn can die a fiery, hell-laden death. Hate that stuff. I was always so disappointed to receive candy corn bags on Halloween. Die, candy corn.
Miss January 1979
However, totally with you on buckeyes, the candy, being great. Other buckeyes can suck a rotten egg....
Except, ironically, chocolate.
Hershey's Nuggets.
The density of the chocolate is optimal over a straight bar.
The wrapping comes off easier than a Kiss.
The wrapping does provide a barrier to entry that makes overeating them less likely.
The flavor blend in the palate (which I learned about at Hershey Chocolate World last summer) is a unique blend build largely on the fresh milk used in creation.
That said, you hand me almost any candy and I'm not looking at you sideways. Well, maybe FauxMo, but he knows why.
Haribo Happy Cola
Gummi cokes are awesome.
My favorite and the best is Reese's Cups/eggs/trees/whatever. Basically anything Reese's You're all wrong if you don't think the same.
Also, it's pronounced exactly like it is spelled. Reese's. Possessive form of Reese. It's not pronounced "reesees." Drives me insane when people call them "reesees peecees." Since when is "pieces" pronounced "peecees?"
Are you particular about the chocolate/peanut butter ratio differences between the various size and shape configurations of various Reese's offerings?
In my mind, the "penny cups" are much better than the larger offering because they have slightly more chocolate density to the peanut butter core.
Yes, this door has been opened, I have opinions.
I prefer more peanut butter, though I think Reese's has perfected the ratio, so anything by them is OK by me.
I think the unwrapped mini-cups have the best chocolate:peanut butter ratio of the Reese's offerings, though I'll agree almost any of them are real good.
Also love Cadbury Dairy Milk bars and the eggs. Easter candy is the best
We probably go through 5 lbs of the mini-eggs every Easter. We don't have any kids.
Non-easter favorites: Maynard's wine gums, Dark chocolate Reese's mini-cups.
Breakfast Stout.
Personally, I think Snickers is the most well rounded candy. Holiday themed Reeses is my favorite however, followed closely by Take 5, Crispy M&M's, Pink Starbursts, and the occasional Sour apple sucker for when I want to taste something fabulous but also get five cavities.
