SI Reporting McElwain "strong candidate" to Michigan citing "Sources"
Bruce Feldman reporting
"Jim McElwain has emerged as a strong candidate to join Jim Harbaugh’s staff at Michigan working with receivers, multiple sources told SI"
Unsure if this means anything more than clickbait. Feldman citing "multiple" sources. Whatever.

They definitely had some opportunities, none of them were good, but they had some

You shouldn't try to defend an uninformed statement with another one. It rarely works out.

No, our QB racked up 14 for the gators and they managed 192 yards and 3 points

I like this hire, but their offense did not hang 17 on us. They scored 3, all on the first drive. Net 1 if you count the -2 for the saftey. 14 were from defense.

Serious question. Why don't you find a different team to follow since you seem to be one of the most miserable UM fans ever? It's really not worth it. Find a new hobby and try to make life fun again.

It's for WR coach, not a coordinator position. But I'll take it, anyway...

Would have no issue whatsoever. He's better than what we have now, that's pretty factual.

Looking at his Wikipedia page, it appears that he was a WR coach from 1995-2005 with QB coach sprinkled in there for a bit as well. He did a one year stop as strictly a QB coach in the NFL, then became a coordinator at Fresno and Alabama. Seems like he's highly qualified.

So, Coach McElwain, any thoughts on Jim Harbaugh? https://t.co/kIXkkdbV5D pic.twitter.com/2scuYCHpUF

the infamous "they're threatening my family" presser. The guy was toast when he left Gainesville, and they will chuckle at the idea he's coming to Ann Arbor. The scorn for him here was pronounced not too long ago--now the herd is stampeding in the other direction. It's just an assistant hire and a long way down for McElwain. But pretending that bringing in a guy who was so badly exposed such a short time ago is wonderful news is. . . to my mind. . . exaggerated. And I'm usually the guy counseling lots more patience than is exhibited here for wins and Harbaugh. This is a good old boy landing somewhere in a town and environment that I thought was a bit beyond that. Obviously not.

that he was a respected OC, that's just true. There are literally dozens of good OC's/DC's that were not good HC's, and returned to coordinator jobs and prospered. The florida part of his resume does not scare me at all,.

I wish him all success here if he comes. And us, of course. The various whiffs of impropriety and poor handling of kids--suspensions, etc.--looked like a fairly real thing over there, too, but. . . let's see what happens.

2007: Major Applewhite
2008-2011: McElwain
2012-2013: Nuss
2014-2016: Kiffin
2016: Sark (title game)
2017: Brian Daboll
2018: Mike Locksley
Saban pushed Nuss and Kiffin out the door. He didn’t do that with Mac.

Adding a WR coach is too many cooks in the kitchen?
