12/10/2018 - 8:18am I’m curious how you came to…

I’m curious how you came to the conclusion that the schedule is harder next year.  All you did was replace Northwestern with Iowa (the team that lost to Northwestern) and switch the big 3 to be at home.

12/03/2018 - 3:10pm You can’t put our O at 13…

You can’t put our O at 13 through 3 quarters and still say OSU had 41...they had a blocked punt for a TD and an interception at the 20 so if our O scored 13 then theirs scored 27.

11/07/2018 - 12:11pm Hopefully he asks Lewerke as…

Hopefully he asks Lewerke as well about what he did against us so he can replicate it.

10/21/2018 - 10:54am They had 5 yards of total…

They had 5 yards of total offense on that garbage time drive so that’s not really true

10/12/2018 - 12:38pm I can’t remember if there…

I can’t remember if there was a TD specifically on a slant but that does not mean they aren’t a problem.  The slants have been used to get in position to score on other easy plays once they got close.  My assumption would be that once we get into the red zone we can shift away from the slot fade outside positioning since it isn’t really a threat anymore and better cover the slants at this point.  There’s always going to be something that you have to give up though and this limits the big plays and requires the other team to continue to execute.

10/11/2018 - 2:49pm 11-16 technically

Also OSU…

11-16 technically

Also OSU has beat teams with a combined 15-19...there is a built in number of losses with the teams you beat after all...

10/10/2018 - 2:08pm The first one looks like ND,…

The first one looks like ND, probably 2003? So yes easily.

The second one is clearly an OSU game so no.

08/28/2018 - 11:34pm It should also be noted that…

It should also be noted that the D only gave up 17 to Wisconsin since they had a punt return TD.

So basically PSU put up points, OSU did enough to outgun O’Korn, and Wisconsin put up nothing much.  3 top 50 putting up an avg 32 is so misleading when only 1 team even put up that much and the one of the 3 that wasn’t top 5-10 only got 17.

07/16/2018 - 2:50pm You keep harping on the fact…

You keep harping on the fact that it’s already slanted towards the major programs/sports...why does that make it not an issue to further slant it in that direction?

If you are a mid/upper-level D1 wrestling prospect and a low level Football prospect, right now you would likely pursue wrestling...but now let’s say you can get paid to sit on a bench for a decent football program and graduate or you can play and potentially compete at the top level in wrestling but earn no endorsement don’t see any issue with that?  If so I have no reason to continue this discussion because we clearly just have very different ideas of priorities.

07/16/2018 - 9:52am I don’t really see how this…

I don’t really see how this changes the issue of funneling players to major programs and major sports.

It also adds another question of how long does this money get locked up for?  Whatever company the money comes from has to have it available for the athlete upon graduation but do they have to graduate within a certain number of years? Or could they come back 70 years later at 90 years old and want their money?

06/14/2018 - 1:38pm Why is it French instead of…

Why is it French instead of Franch?

03/26/2018 - 10:10am So it’s not impressive

So it’s not impressive because most southern schools decided it’s not worth the money to fund a varsity team since they can’t compete? These schools have hockey, just not as a varsity sport because they can’t compete with the top teams.

03/23/2018 - 2:08pm I mean that shot is from the

I mean that shot is from the big ten tournament so makes sense to hold up big ten signs after you win it...

03/23/2018 - 10:29am Browns taking him #1 and

Browns taking him #1 and nobody seeing him as even the 4th best QB aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive though

03/23/2018 - 10:27am To be fair, Virginia didn’t

To be fair, Virginia didn’t give up 80 total in the entire tournament!

03/09/2018 - 3:22pm 1. $2 million isn’t exactly a

1. $2 million isn’t exactly a ton of extra money for an entire program, I would guess it is probably enough but I doubt the athletic department wants to eat away at that remaining 1% of their revenue that keeps them in the black.

03/03/2018 - 6:01pm D2 unfortunately
But still

D2 unfortunately

But still congrats to him and his team!

02/10/2018 - 11:09pm Not sure if serious...

Not sure if serious...

01/19/2018 - 12:40pm I am confused by your

I am confused by your conclusion as well like someone else noted. MSU gets called for essentially the same number of fouls at both arenas and both around their season average. Meanwhile Michigan gets called for pretty close to their season average at home but gets called for significantly more at Breslin. This seems to support the idea that we don’t get a fair shake at Breslin more than the opposite.

01/15/2018 - 10:18am I mean we are 2 back of both

I mean we are 2 back of both Purdue and OSU right now and play them both still so we would need to win those. Then they have a head to head so one will lose. That leaves one loss needed by whichever team won that head to head.

The easiest route is probably Purdue best OSU and MSU beat Purdue. But with only 1 loss technically needed between the two teams I wouldnt say MSU beating Purdue is a requirement.

01/15/2018 - 9:16am And is currently 0-2 against

And is currently 0-2 against them with the highest ranked still to come.

01/11/2018 - 10:25pm What ever happened to Usher

What ever happened to Usher as a captain?

01/10/2018 - 11:20am UM AD, December, 2014: “We

UM AD, December, 2014: “We will pay you $40 million to coach here the next 7 years and will distribute it to coincide with inflation.”

JH: “OK”

JH, January, 2018: “So I am still making $40 million over the 7 years?”

UM AD: “Yes”

01/10/2018 - 10:50am Not to keep picking at it,

Not to keep picking at it, but a simple way to think about it is with a raise you are promised more money than you were prior to it...Harbaugh is not promised any more money than he was 1 month ago it just wasn’t evenly distributed.

01/10/2018 - 10:41am Pegged to some indicator is

Pegged to some indicator is the key there. There were 0 requirement other than still being employed for Harbaugh to get this.

01/10/2018 - 10:36am An article about a raise is

An article about a raise is just baiting for trolls...nothing changed with his contract, from the day it was inked he was always going to earn more money this year, it’s just following the terms of the contract he signed years ago.

01/04/2018 - 3:02pm Right but that is only due to

Right but that is only due to the sheer quantity of 2 and 3 star guys. Let’s say you are trying to field the best 11 players....and you have 1 5-star, 10 4-star, 100 3-star, and 1000 2-star guys to pick from. You could very well end up with 1 5-star, 1 4-star, 3 3-star, and 6 2-star in your lineup. Now would you rather have a random 5/4 star that hits at 100% or 10% here or would you rather have a 3/2 star that hits at 1% or 0.1% in this example just because the majority of your lineup is comprised of 2 and 3 stars?

In the end stars matter, any give 5 or 4 star is more likely to be a contributor than a 3 or 2 star guy. But obviously there will be contributors from the entire group.

I know that is along the lines of what you were saying, but I think it comes to the conclusion that any team would prefer the higher rated guys for the most part and the pro bowl stats you threw out mean nothing.

12/13/2017 - 7:58pm So now all the top athletes

So now all the top athletes go to the Michigan/OSU/Bama/Texas's of the world because they can pay the most....I can't see any issues occuring there.  Not to mention the top non-revenue sport athletes would tend more towards the Football/Basketball world if they even have a chance due to the ability to make money.

Not to mention that revenue from the major sports funds other sports and many AD's are not rolling in the cash and in fact lose money.

So now we have killed:

Non classic powerhouse teams and any semblance of parity
Non revenue sports (basically everything besides Mens Football and Basketball)
Some student athlete's athletic futures who chose football over soccer because they could make money in college but couldnt make it in the pros.

12/04/2017 - 5:07pm It is funny how quickly

It is funny how quickly things are forgotten/twisted in our minds.  Obviously Okorn left a lot to be desired on the field throughout the year...but there was no way in hell he wasn't starting that MSU game.  He had just put up 270 yards on a decent Purdue team and almost everyone still thought he was an upgrade on Speight.

11/24/2017 - 3:35pm Right but my point was I

Right but my point was I don't think Miami would have ever stood in the way of that...11-0 Miami that then lost the conference championship game to Clemson who is then in isn't likely to keep OSU out if those other things you mentioned happen.

11/24/2017 - 3:27pm Clemson was always beating

Clemson was always beating Miami next week most likely.  This barely moves the needle for OSU.

03/10/2017 - 12:24pm Crazy how different the

Crazy how different the situations are this year vs last year bubble wise...exact same record going into the game and we needed that win just to make it in.

03/09/2017 - 1:12pm No mostly cause people

No mostly cause people weren't meant to live in Michigan in winter with no form of heat...

01/01/2017 - 10:46am Not saying it will happen at

Not saying it will happen at all, just that the poster I responded to made it sound like he fell apart after losing the bowl game to us when it was actually quite the opposite.  Also doesn't take much research to know that Florida bookended national titles around us beating them.

01/01/2017 - 9:25am Phase 2

Hopefully it is not the same as after the Tebow loss to us, Urban's Florida team won the title the year after that and went 13-1 again the year after.

12/08/2016 - 2:38pm Based on the username...I

Based on the username...I would guess yes they did

11/30/2016 - 12:13pm How would a loss to us in the

How would a loss to us in the first round of the playoff improve Bamas win percentage?

11/27/2016 - 6:48pm Then can't take Penn State,

Then can't take Penn State, Wisconsin, or Colorado either right?

11/25/2016 - 4:45pm The idea is that a large

The idea is that a large movement in a short amount of time is going to be driven by insiders and a rush of insiders betting Michigan would imply good speight news.

11/21/2016 - 11:23am And here I thought 4-letter

And here I thought 4-letter words were their strength

11/06/2016 - 2:57pm is not is not sure those count as the last decade...

10/19/2016 - 3:11pm Is there a reason we

Is there a reason we shouldn't do that? No not really and to be fair the only one that matters now already does that.

However, in practice it would never work. You have the currently major polls wait and a new one will take its place because the networks need rankings to sell matchups.

Ummm sounds like he is a Michigan fan...

10/16/2016 - 8:38am FYI OSU had 40 yds in OT due

FYI OSU had 40 yds in OT due to the holding and false start penalties. Not that it affects the overall picture much.

10/15/2016 - 9:49am I was just going to leave it

I was just going to leave it be, but then you asked me spelled critical wrong.

10/08/2016 - 12:29pm I really think Red knew that

I really think Red knew that the talent was not going to be there this year with everyone telling him they were leaving so he did not want whatever new coach to get blamed for it right out of the gate.  Obviously could be wrong, but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt after everything hes done.

10/02/2016 - 1:07pm Not even close

Not even close

09/26/2016 - 4:58pm Even worse was when a section

Even worse was when a section in the complete opposite corner tried to get the wave going against Hawaii instead of letting the students do it.

09/25/2016 - 3:07pm There were a couple PSU fans

There were a couple PSU fans behind me at the game yesterday and all they talked about the whole first half was how they hate playing here cause you have to go against the refs too and kept citing the 2 "extra" seconds in 2005.  I really wanted to remind them how they also got extra time put back on the clock on their last drive but fortunately the score drove them away by halftime.

My other favorite part is when they were showing highlights from the old PSU game and the guy goes "Of course they don't show all the times we crushed them".  1.  Obviously we wouldnt show that as a highlight    2.  I guess he forgot what their record against us was?

08/16/2016 - 7:17pm I mean there is a reason

I mean there is a reason people dive for catches...and most of the time its not for show.
