Izzo open FBI case? Doesn't sould legit. Are you referring to the investigation into impermissible benefit stuff into several programs that began in 2017 or something else?

I think they should fire Izzo and Dantonio. Ya know, just to be safe and stuff
January 26th, 2018 at 11:47 AM ^
Not sure about Izzo, but Dantonio might be on the hook when the FBI, AG and NCAA start snooping deeper into sexual assault cases on MSU campus and/or where student athletes are involved. They are under a microscope now.

Again, probably just another tip of the iceberg thing.
This guy was strangely silent from the start, but I guess even someone as dumb as he evidently is can see the handwriting on the wall.
He's probably just hoping at this point that he doesn't wind up in criminal court.
January 26th, 2018 at 11:36 AM ^
now way did he not know about this. i am thinking he said buck stops here. he thought he could cover it up. not sure if the president knew. never will know. bye bye jerk.

I'm reading on USA Today during his press conference he called it a Retirement, not running away from anything...etc."

Hollis is sprinting!

Here is my post from five days ago...things are going pretty much as I predicted!
Judging from how this stuff usually plays out, I'm fairly certain that Simon is going to be fired or will resign of her own volition...it is simply a matter of time. The University will be paying millions in legal fees and restitution soon, and they need at least one scapegoat. The trustees don't have the nads to go against her now, but they will be forced to grow some soon and that will be the beginning of the end.
Upon her resignation/dismissal, a new leader will be brought in who promises to change the culture of the University and he/she will institute a one strike policy that will make it difficult for Izzo and Dantonio to operate in a "business as usual" mode. The football team sexual assault trials will be the last straw for Dantonio. They will begin soon after this Nasser mess and Dantonio will feel enough heat to retire due to "health concerns". The University will publicly support him, but behind the scenes, there will be arrows flying all over the place. Recruiting and on-the-field performance will suffer greatly as a result of the MSU academia having a greater say in terms of admissions and disciplinary matters. It gets real old quickly when you constantly have someone looking over your shoulder and you have to explain and justify every single action and decision you make.
The basketball team is going to be affected in a similar fashion and this season just might be Izzo's last hurrah. His recruits will have to be able to meet more stringent academic requirements and this doesn't fit well with his recent model of recruiting one-and-done players who don't care a lick about actually attending classes. I really wouldn't be too surprised if he announced his retirement after the 2018-2019 season.

No one is happy that your university let this sick man molest girls for two decades. Get off it and get your own fucking house in order.

Ah, the mythical Sparty that attended Michigan :)

Your posting history is pretty much all either defending MSU, attacking Michigan fans, or bashing Harbaugh.
Give it a rest.

Still sticking to the script, huh. Oh well, I guess there are worse things in life than reading about how great D'anantonio is from a "Michigan" fan.

Just want to point out that the only person who used the word pathetic was you saying you weren't pathetic.
Kinda pathetic, don't ya think?
January 26th, 2018 at 12:46 PM ^
I don't think anyone is gloating about this. This case, the shit that went on is wayyy bigger than sports or rivalry. Many here have sung praises of how the students and faculty have handled themselves, and pushed for people like LAS to get forced out of their positions.
I'm happy people who had a chance to stop this are starting to go down. Spartan fans should be just as happy as anyone that Hollis is gone. He didn't do his job. He didn't protect the university, the athletes, or the students.
January 26th, 2018 at 12:26 PM ^
This is possibly the most Little Brother thing I've ever seen a Spartan post here.

Never, and I mean NEVER, get into a pissing contest with someone as deep in historical references and context (and who can recall them with lightning speed) as Sr. Quattro.

Who will 'look the other way' ? SPARTANS WILL . Who will 'Retire' in the wake of the investigation into the biggest sexual predator case IN AMERICAN HISTORY ? SPARTANS WILL.

Don't dig yourself into a hole. You will find examples everywhere, yes. Individual acts don't equate to institutional enabling and coverup.
Note that in the story you linked, the "relationship" you cited wasn't physical. It was concerning of course, even if he was simply a social media dolt the conduct was unacceptable so the University took steps to counsel him. When he did commit a crime, he was fired. No circling of the wagons, no coverups, no telling the victim that they were wrong and it was an innocent medical procedure. They fired his ass and cooperated with the authorities.
Sparties gotta get over their Michigan obsession, yesterday. You have bigger fish to fry now.
January 26th, 2018 at 12:08 PM ^
he needs to be booted.
January 26th, 2018 at 12:21 PM ^
MSU doesn't really have "stringent admissions requirements" for literally any students, knowing many of those who got in the past couple years. But otherwise, I agree.
January 26th, 2018 at 11:45 AM ^
Mark Hollis used to tweet constantly. He was what I would call a Peacock. Always showing his feathers. About a year ago, he stopped tweeting for no apparent reason. We know the reason.
Can't wait to see his retirement package, if the president got $600k or so a year after destroying their reputation. and letting amonster mame the psyches of hundreds of innocent children. He's probably getting a building named after him.
Burn it to the ground. Everyone who knew, regardless or how high or how low they were in the food chain at MSU needs to get fired and possibly see jail time.

they have a chance to repeal it. Even if she had a payout and no morals or negligence clause in her contract, if they want they can get her to rescind it and probably disappear. But they can't becuase A) she's too immoral and stubborn, and B) she knows where the bodies are burried.
You can bet that they are spending 100% of their time (not just 10 minutes Fergie) trying to figure out how to save the collective reputations and jobs of their major sports coaches in the past 20 years once the Feds go through their electronic records forensically. Izzo and Dantonio's legacies are now Job 1 at MSU.
January 26th, 2018 at 1:30 PM ^
There is absolutely no way the next president of MSU will allow LAS to be on staff at the school. I don't care what is in a contract, that shit is not going to happen, and if by some amazing act of cosmic stupidy it does, that tells you all you need to know about the next president.

Seems like she should be next in line to go to jail behind Nassar. She was warned and she has clear motive to cover up for Nassar given that MSU was using Nassar on recruiting material as recently as 2014 I believe. Her job security as a coach was partially reliant upon Nassar being an attraction to recruits. Sure seems like she should go to jail for a loooong time too

The new AD has a tough freaking job, but a job that can be done. Their new president will regret massively the day he/she took the job. Between the lawyers and the financial liability it will be an impossible job.
