Title says it all. Not much but a Tweet.

If they don't believe it, they will never achieve it.

I think the mindset should be to win each game each week. If you do that (or come close) then good things will come. You don't focus on winning the national championship when there's a dozen games before even having the opportunity for that.

Is he moving to offensive tackle?
January 10th, 2018 at 8:19 AM ^
No, actually he is going to be the quarterback
January 10th, 2018 at 8:20 AM ^
I agree with his prediction. Why not? I mean would you expect him to predict a 8 and 4 season?

January 10th, 2018 at 8:28 AM ^
Which team did he predict to be National Champ? I presume it's Michigan? :-)
January 10th, 2018 at 8:28 AM ^
I love the energy however.
January 10th, 2018 at 8:40 AM ^
I like his style.
Reminds me of Charles Woodson after those disappointing 4 loss seasons.
“Every year they locked the team in the team meeting room and we’re in charge with coming up with goals for the season. In ’95 and ’96, it’s win the Big Ten championship or win the red-letter games. In ’97 we’re going along the same path, this and that. We’re in there for an hour, and finally Charles stands up, ‘How about we just win.’ Everybody shuts up and looks at each other and we’re like, ‘Yeah, that works.’

Good for playmakers to have swag, plus everyone starts out next season 0 & 0.
January 10th, 2018 at 8:54 AM ^
The team needs more swagger like this.

I'm all good with bringing a little sizzle, Tarik. You'd just better bring the steak along with it.
This program has been all talk with almost no results to show for it for the better part of a decade. Hope he's able to help put an end to that nonsense.

A tweet of an instragram post from a fanpage who took a screenshot of Tarik Blacks snapchat. Hardly a public proclaimation.
And by 2019 does he mean the 2019 season (his Junior Year?) or in January 2019? Either way would be nice!
January 10th, 2018 at 9:54 AM ^
Hell yeah!
January 10th, 2018 at 10:02 AM ^
So if Black retweets it, does time reset?

Did you watch Haskins play at all when he stepped in for Barrett? He came off the bench and picked our defense apart, scoring points on 3 of 4 drives.
I don't really know how good of an athlete Haskins is. I assume if Meyer recruited him to play QB then he can, at the bare minimum, move enough to keep defenses honest. But couple that athleticism with a guy who can actually throw the ball, and also looks like he can make NFL throws, and I don't know why exactly you feel more confident against him than you did against Barrett. Couple that with the game being in Columbus, a place where we haven't won in almost 20 years. Longer than most recruits have even alive.
Barrett may have been a great athlete, but a great passer, he was not. Haskins looks every bit the part thus far, and that's a terrifying thought for any opposing defense.

Talk is cheap. Hoke promised multiple big ten titles.

He is not ready to be a captain because of one idealistic (and mildly delusional) statement on Snapchat.

don't pile on Black for this one. He snap chatted the text out at the end of the National Championship game. A fan screen shotted it and posted it to instagram with a picture of him next to it. A different fan screen shotted the instagram post and posted it to twitter.
This OP made the mistake of even thinking this topic is threadworthy, let alone news.
Our players should have the confidence that they can win it all. If not, why even play? And this was far from a public declaration, or even a comment to the media. Please do not treat it as such.

That lunatic who posted yesterday was right--you really are all a bunch of dickless bitches! Hell yeah, Tarik! Dream B1G. Kick ass! Go Blue!

far from being a national contender, hell they're pretty far from winning their own damn division.
January 10th, 2018 at 10:51 AM ^
Jus sayin’
January 10th, 2018 at 11:20 AM ^
the SEC East is not even close to the Big Ten East right now.

Not sure how 1 year removed from an inch away of being division champs is "pretty far". Harbaugh made a 5-7 team 10-3 in one season. 8-5 to B1G Champs is not out of the question.

You have to dream big or what's the point?
January 10th, 2018 at 10:50 AM ^
Love his confidence but they need to put in A Lot of work before that can happen and that time is now! Go Blue!!
January 10th, 2018 at 10:53 AM ^
The tweet says 2019. Does that mean the 2019 season, or the 2019 playoff that happens after the 2018 season? I really need to know.
January 10th, 2018 at 2:08 PM ^
Since the logos on the jerseys and on the field for the national championship game showed "2018", I'm guessing 2019 means the next one.

I think we would've gone 10-2 at worst in the regular season. He was already a polished enough WR to be a matchup nightmare. His ability to stretch the field and run many routes on the route tree would have opened up the secondary for DPJ, Perry and the TEs.
Speight had accuracy issues, but he could read a defense very well. Looking at our schedule, PSU is still the only game I see as a probably L. I think the other L's were tossups at worst.
I think people forget how well we moved the ball until Black got hurt. Then the issue before Speight was injured was that we could move the ball but were bad in the redzone. If we can get solid play at LT and QB, I love our chances next season.

Herbert = stronger, more physical OL
Enos = integrated run / pass pro-style game plan + show WRs how to get it done
Shea = game-changing QB play
TBD = Hart to RB coach, Drevno to OL coach, Jay to TEs, Pep to the NFL
Maybe Black is confident as a result of 2018 workouts with Shea and conditioning sessions with Herbert? Changes are happening, all targeted to improve the 2017 weaknesses.
Go Blue !!!
