Sam has a Gut Feeling on a Commitment from Shea Patterson, it Seems
It appears Sam's gut is telling him not only of a visit, but of an impending commitment. https://twitter.com/SamWebb77/status/938939068930560000

Ryan Mallet ended up having a pretty good career. Unfortunately it wasn't at Michigan.

He is 6'2. So, how tall does that make him in reality?

I kinda like their color scheme, esp. the road whites. The lighter shade of blue they use goes well with the white and red. Overall I think they're in the upper 10% of college uniforms. Not to the level of "iconic" like Michigan, Texas, Bama, but better than the forgettable, uninspired unis of most places.

56 LT throwback is my favorite.
In short, screw your opinion.

Props to Harbaugh for going out and upgrading the QB position. If Patterson wins the job and plays to his talent level we're a surefire national title contender.

Sam Webb said that Patterson contacted Michigan first and that he "was humble and made it clear he didn't have any problem with competing for a job."

Great
With just an average QB we wouldve been 12-1 and playing in the playoffs this year with our sole loss to PSU who dominated us. We wouldve beaten MSU, OSU, and Wisconin if our QB play wasnt complete ASS
Shea will provide that 'At least average' QB we need
Its going to be fricking awesome to have a QB that can break for a big run if nothing is open

We had our average QB in Speight. He got horrifically injured in large part because we couldn't pass protect. Then our young-but-potentially-much-better-than-average QB, Peters, was also injured midway through a very winnable game against Wisconsin...again because we couldn't pass protect.
December 7th, 2017 at 9:47 PM ^
Take off those homer glasses.
Speight was NOT average. He was VERY bad this year in limited playing time. Overthrowing everyone
Peters was NOT average but thats expected for a guy who was playing in his first few games
Shea will be at least average. And Shea will be able to negate some of the bad pass protection with his feet
December 7th, 2017 at 11:34 PM ^
Why do you think Peters was below average? He wasn't asked to do much and performed fine, especially considering the OL situation.

do what the rest of us do which is say "insert (blank)" whenever a gif or meme would be appropriate. The site upgrade cant come soon enough. Its 2017 it shouldnt be more difficult than copy and paste.

It can blow up in Harbaugh's face or it can payoff big-time. My best case scenario is either Patterson wins out and the other two are okay with developing for another year or Peters or McCaffery win the job, meaning they've progressed better than we thought they would. Overall, it boosts the depth at the position which we all saw is vital after the freak injuries that happened this year. Hope it pays off for Harbaugh and for us in the end.

You potentially make your current guys feel insecure and also spend time developing this guy and not that guy. And if we keep taking QB transfers (this would be the 3rd since 2015), that could make future recruits at the position wonder if Michigan is truly committed to the guys it recruits.
Now, I'm not saying it's a bad idea to take him...I watched his tape, dude is a baller. And there's no guarantee any of these things would come to pass. They are all real risks, however.

How in the world is there risk adding three starters to your team. Adding the #1 QB from 2016 class. Adding a talented receiver with experience. Also adding a very good safety, a position that was a weakness. Adding these three players is flat out genious, but you call it a risk.
No reason to explain because this move is a no brainer. Risk?. Risk we might just win the big ten and more. How the fuck can it blow up in Harbaughs face. Adding three nfl types to your team. If you were just trying to make a stupid statement you succeded. Congrats.

Any player could upset team chemistry. If Patterson drives off Peters or McCaffrey, that by definition means you’re losing a 2nd- or 3rd-string player in favor of a starter. And if the transfer players lose their eligibility, then they don’t play. Michigan has no culpability for what went down in Oxford.

Once again over dramatic and sensitive. I did not call anyone stupid, I said the statement was stupid. I also see mostly everyone agrees with me. I won't bother attacking your statements because I see it has allready been taken care of.
The thing is if you do want me to call someone stupid, that would be anyone who does not want Michigan to take Patterson. I could see the same people when he ends up at osu,psu or msu saying boy why did'nt we get that guy.
We also are getting a very good starting safety and an experienced WR who also is very good. These guys are coming because of Patterson. All top 100 kids that fill weak spots in the roster. Sorry but fail to comprehend anyone not wanting these guys.

From what I've read, he and his family are confident he will be eligible (and maybe more importantly, I assume Michigan is too, otherwise I don't think they pursue these players like they have) but he wants to transfer regardless.
