He will be fine. That's what good D-Coordinators are for. He just has to find and get one. haha. But seriously, they and Florida will be looking up at Georgia anyway so it might not matter too much.
How are Mullen's teams on defense? I guess I haven't paid much attention to Miss St. defense.

Apparently some people down in Tennessee want Kiffin back. I think it would be very entertaining to see him back in the SEC.

Clay Travis is a class A douche. I'm not getting into specifics here, but a quick Google search will reveal all you need to know (and I never heard of him until last weekend).

As much as he does.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Gundy left Oklahoma State either. I think he’s topped out there and is probably tired of perpetually being in Oklahoma’s shadow. Dealing with Kirby smart and Dan Mullen every year would be tough, but not as insurmountable, in my opinion, as dealing with Oklahoma every year.

Texas could be formidable again soon if Herman works out there.

For me the question at OU isn't about Mayfield, it's about their new coach. Since Stoops took over OU has won 10 or more games ten times. He had that program at such a high level. The question is can the new coach maintain that level.
November 28th, 2017 at 4:38 PM ^
That doesn't seem to matter. Much like OSU with us, Oklahoma OWNS that rivalry. Flat out owns it. Both teams are pretty evenly matched when they play each other, but Ok State finds ways to lose that game almost every single year.
I think Ok State has won that game maybe only 8-9 times in the last 50 years. Gundy might be sitting there and saying it's time for a change and he just can't find a way to beat them consistently.
November 28th, 2017 at 4:56 PM ^
I assumed that Oklahoma has the edge but honestly had no idea how much they dominate that rivalry. You're right OSU has only won 8 times in the last 50 years and twice in the last 10.
November 28th, 2017 at 4:58 PM ^
I think in the entire 100+ year of that rivalry, OK State has won only 18 times. That is about as one-sided as it gets.

So dealing with two schools with superior resources is easier than dealing with one?
My advice to Gundy would be the cautionary tale of Bret Bielema. He left the B1G West's #1 job for the SEC West's #6 job. He could have likely retired in Madison seeing that Wisconsin wins 10+ games every year no matter who coaches the team. Instead, he'll be lucky to find another power 5 job in the near future. Oklahoma State is the Big 12's #3 job. Tennessee is the SEC's #7 job.
Don't go chasing waterfalls.
November 28th, 2017 at 5:01 PM ^
I do think it would be easier, to be honest. Because no matter what, OK State can't seem to ever get out from Oklahoma's shadow. OK State finds a way to lose that game every single year.
Tennessee might not be as talent-rich of a state as Georgia or Florida, but the right coach will get elite talent to go there regardless. Butch Jones had no trouble luring top-10 classes to Knoxville.

TING!
Maybe not as bad as 7th, but close. I'd put them behind FL, GA in the East and AL, AU, and LSU in the West. So, 6th. Definitely 6th.
I suppose guess you could make a case for TA&M. So, 7th. Definitely 7th.
Oh, that's what you said.
What was my point again?

He's just an attention whore. He reminds me of the president in that, I'm not actually sure what he believes in other than getting attention and clicks (and boobs and the first amendment I guess). He's good at that and it keeps the cash flowing in, so that's good for him I guess. He's just annoying when he's saying something you disagree with, because you don't even know if he believes it.
