1-7 vs top 10 teams

Get it together. Pathetic considering our level of recruiting.

The unmitigated stupidity of some of the posters here has quite possibly reduced Mgoblog to Mlive. To lack all context as to why we lost THIS game and then make it part of some collective narrative is just pig ignorant.

We're back to being whiny, little sad excuse for fans. Same thing every time. Lose a game to a better team, start bellowing on for how great Mark Dantonio is. And how burned out and bad Harbaugh is. Or some other baseless ramblings.

Many of said takes from people who have been on this site forever. You'd presume they have been watching Michigan football for 5 or 10 years. And therefore have the ability to intelligently compare what we see now to past situations with prior coaches.

Nope.

Whiny, pathetic, ignorant.

No other way to put it.

If they call one of the blatent penelties on OSU the spot never even happens. That was such a one-sidedly called game that there was a massive redit thread on it talking about how bad the refs were... And the people commenting were not even Michigan fans. You know it's bad when fans from all power five conferences are telling buckeye fans how they were gifted the win. Yet, it is used against harbaugh by fans of michigan to trash him.

Dunno why we have snowflake threads when the snowflakes are already all in one thread.

Wake up and realize it was never supposed to be the year. Wake up and realize where we came from. If you’re whining so much and want to go back 4 years then go cheer for Tennessee. No? Ok go back 8 and cheer for Arizona. Your choice.

Just STFU.

I have not looked at the snowflake threads. After this comment I am hopeful that may be more constructive comments and not all this I'm done with the team shit. If you are done leave and don't comment. This is the youngest team in the country that is having horrible injury luck and has all the breaks go against them. 8-3 considering all that is ok.

So the narrative of 1-6 or whatever against top ten teams is ridiculous. Lost two games against top ten teams by a total of four points last year, outplayed UW for a good chunk of the game today with the youngest team in America. I have faith in the future, and will root like hell for these young kids and it will be that much sweeter when they turn the corner

At some point this program is going to have to win a big game. At some point the excuses are going to have to stop. At some point they're going to have to look competitive instead of "well, the refs," "well, the injuries," "well, recruiting..."

Nope. That's good for a loss or two here and there, but every single big game and/or rivalry game for years...

To agree with you. I have defended Harbaugh with the most homerish fans, but it just seems like UM can only beat below average teams year after year. We get overhyped after a game like Florida, but not look pathetic. I really don’t want this to take a turn like it did for Tennessee with Butch Jones, who also couldn’t seem to pull out wins in big game despite having highly talented teams.

I mean, I don't necessarily think it's a Harbaugh thing. It's a systemic thing. Michigan tries so hard to look/feel like the big-time programs, and it just isn't right now. Hasn't been for a long time. The time is gone where the program can coast on "THE WINNINGEST PROGRAM IN FOOTBALL" and "WE BELIEVE IN FOOTBALL--CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL."

Hasn't been championship football since 2004. 2004. And even that one needed help because they completely choked in Columbus.

At some point, it's gotta change.

0-2 at home against MSU winless on the road against ranked teams Soon to be 0-3 against OSU and 4th in the division Meanwhile Nick Saban was going undefeated in the SEC and winning a championship by his third year.

Everyone, including Meyer, Dabo, and Jimbo, looks like dog poo when you compare them to probably the greatest of all time (undebateable the greatest of the current era). Those records are terrible of their own accord, but comparing to Saban seems meaningless since he was never on the table. Be happy it's Bama and not MSU

I know I was saying 10-2 and then 11-1 after Florida. I'm admittedly too optimistic, but 8-4 was what most were settling on because we weren't sure about Speight. Then Speight gets a cheap shot on him and the season goes to shit.

We pretty much won the games we were expected to, not easily but still. We also lost the games we were expected to and didn't enjoy it in the process. We ripped out Florida's heart in week 1 and then dorfed against sparty so those evened out.

Sure this is frustrating. Sure I don't like living in mediocrity. I doubt the team does either. I don't begrudge frustration from others, though I do find those saying "I'm done" to be losers and they are welcome to never come back.

Onward to OSU. College football is a precious commodity and I'll treat it as such. Here's to the boys in Blue.

Then we beat that shitty sparty team. That game was the football equivalent of a storm of the century (pun not initially noticed).

Lewerke, McSorley, Hornibrook were all returning starters. It may sound like an excuse for us, and I'm not looking to be whiny about it, but that's just how shit's rolled for us. When we have Peters, McCaffrey, Milton and whoever else battling it out and all elevating the competition level, we hopefully won't have a huge dropoff if our #1 goes down. Until that point, it's a massive liability.

We need our "Kirk Cousins" type to elevate overall offense and elevate otherwise mediocre offensive line and wr play (so far). What's crazy is that Michigan state does it and so does Wisconsin. Why can't we? Is it coaching? Is it the inability to scout to system? Is it the system? I don't know. All I know is that teams with less in resources or prestige are doing much much more. It is so disheartening.

This.  Had Denard been in the same type of offense for 4 years, we would have had a top QB.  Peters has the makings of being one, IMO, but he's only a RS Fr and now he's out.  Speight is a Hoke recruit, but he's looking like he could have been functional.  Now we're with a patchwork QB, O'Korn, who isn't up to the task, unlike Rudock was.

we don't need a douchebag like Kirk Cousins or any other Michigan state or Ohio state quarterback. We need a healthy 2016 Wilton Speight. We need a consistent 2015 Jake Ruddddddock and we need an experienced Brandon Peters. This year sucks. But people act like we weren't so close last year. We were almost there. Just need to stay healthy. We could have won today. Maybe should have. John O'Korn Gives us zero chance to win. We have quarterbacks. just need to keep them healthy.

How exactly was Cousins a douchebag? By all accounts, he was / is a really good guy. I don't like the fact he beat us at MSU, but that doesn't make him a douche. Also, the two quarterbacks you reference as "who we need," never had near the success as Cousins. So - I would take Cousins in a heartbeat over your two ideas.

Lol how embarrassing. Oh well just continue to be the laughing stock of the country. Until the Team decides to play like a Team then we won't but the big games. Oh just in case no one knew O'Korn is awful. Lol.

Harbaugh has had bad luck. He also choked away the Ohio State game last year. This will be another season without a single signature win under Harbaugh. It’s not good enough and he needs to take a look in the mirror.

So what's going to change?? People said McCaffrey is the future but now he has peters playing.. are we going to change qbs again next year? The offense is years away from being able to beat a team like osu and I really don't think it will happen under harbaugh and his track record of mediocre offense.
