The idea that the fan issues would be too crazy for the MSU game at night in particular strikes me as weird. Things will be unremarkable. Should make for a live atmosphere at the Stadium, though, and that will be fun. On national tv no less. Bring it.

Absolutely. Bring it. I can't wait. Such a better atmosphere and when everyone is pumped, there's no sneaking up on a team. My only concern for this one is Dantonio's penchant for being a trickster. Watching that last game, there were a lot of plays where our pursuit was so aggressive we were susceptible to big trick plays on the backside. Other than that though, tear some fucking heads off!  Damn bye weeks.

But after Purdue scored their lone TD on 3 throw back plays.  Doc Brown adjusted and that was that.  Noticed how Purdue tried the EXACT SAME throw back to the TE / WR on the first play they got the ball back after the FG.

But the play was blown up because Hudson was literally face guarding the TE.  I fully suspect that Brown may have had a few choice coaching pointers for his D and the best part is they listened and executed......

As you noted, with D'Antonio's penchent to pull some trickery himself.  I would expect the assignement discipline football to be reinforced over the next two weeks.  And how did those slow developing plays work after the 2nd quarter??????

people to start complaining of a night game. Too much time to drink, too loud, blah blah. They have been doing this for years in every other conference and it seems to be going ok.

Lots of recruits coming in.  They want to see the Big House, under the lights, kicking MSU's ass.  This is what should be done more often.

A lot of these people against night games would have been the same people complaining about the forward pass back when that was new.

We're on your lawn and here to stay whether you like it or not. Go back in the house old man.

If you're part of the "it's not going to be safe" group, guess what? LSU and Alabama play at night every single year, two fanbases that are far more rabid and insane than either Michigan's or MSU's. Baton Rouge/Tuscaloosa are always both still standing the next day. If they can do it, we can too.

Or if you're in the "It's not what Bo would've wanted" group, then you're living in the past. Which is something that many outsiders still make fun of Michigan for. Times are changing pal. It's what the incoming generation wants. It's what the kids who play the damn game want. Learn to live with it.

We need more rivalry games at night.  PSU next year would be the obvious choice I think.  It should be to our advantage so why not?  Other schools do it to us over and over again (Iowa last year, sad face).

Waiting for all the old farts to come out of the woodworks saying that "Toe was meant to meet leather at noon," "Sparty fans will trash the city and its too dangerous," "Night games are not what Bo would've wanted," yada fucking yada.

But seriously, this is great for Michigan. Primetime matchup on national television against a hated rival. Lot of recruits coming into town and the atmosphere for night games is just better. Times are changing and people want night games, especially the kids who go out and actually play the damn game. I agree night games should never be wasted on  a cupcake FCS or MAC opponent, but there should be at least one every year when a team like OSU, MSU, PSU, Wisconsin, or a big time OOC opponent comes into town.

Hopefully Sparty gets a beatdown for the ages under the lights.

Normally I'd lie at the bottom of the lake covered with my memories of the past, but as someone who is on the far side of the 50 year old mark I'll rise to the bait.

I just like watching a good game on a bright fall day.

I get it that Wolverine football is now just one more spectator entertainment option - like a big movie premiere or going to a concert. It is undoubtedly great for recruiting and actually other things that may benefit the whole UM. We're actually hosting a recruiting dinner with a possible hire that weekend and going to the game is one of the things.

And it can be pretty amazing. The UTL game is still the greatest game or live sports event I've ever seen. A friend brought his brother-in-law who had never been to a college game in person and we told him afterwards, that now he was spoiled for life, because he'd probably never see a game like that.

I hope we crush the Spartans and send them into a season long death spiral :)

Go Blue!

I'll now sink back into the bottom of the lake.

This is going to be fun!

Since we're sharing our own circumstances that should sway the decisions, I know you all care about mine: I fly in from TX with one kid each year for a home game and I've forgone bringing my 6 year old to this game in anticipation of it being at night. Boom! Right call. Since I'll be in town for something else already, I get to enjoy it the adult way. As for my 6 y-o, I'm bringing him home for Minnesota, so lets go ahead and make that a 3:30 game, M'kay.

This will be my first night game in The Big House.  Going with both of my brothers who are sparty fans and can not wait to watch them be in awe of the beautiful stadium, intense enviroment and the far superior football team.

Just praying to the football Gods that some scalpers will lower ticket prices after kick off!

Shouldn't matter though. Already had Clemson-Louisville and now Clemson Va Tech this early in the season. Also had OSU-Indiana(Thursday) and OSU-Oklahoma first 2 weeks. They probably wouldn't do 2 home games, but since its 1 home 1 away I don't see an issue if they are the best games. Didn't see any others that jumped out for that week, it's a big rivalry, and first night game... I'd say it's likely!
