Who (ONE TEAM ONLY) do you want scheduled for future non-con games?
Recalling the recent ranting and teeth-gnashing about dropping Arkansas in lieu of Notre Dame, I am curious if the AD actually questions the fan base about whom they would like to see in non-con matchups (considering this is the one sport most driven by fan-derived revenue, this seems like a reasonable notion). As such, who would be your top pick (only one) for a future out of conference opponent (regular season) that IS NOT currently on the schedule - and why? Hopefully, someone in the dept will view these suggestions and perhaps take some action (home and home is best).
Personally, I will go with LSU since 1) has never played UM, 2) traditionally a good FB team and 3) would love to take down another "premier" SEC program.
EDIT: This is also meant to be a challenge to the board. You need to pick just one team to add to the schedule (just throwing out a list of teams defeats the purpose - justify why this one team is worth adding over the others).

USC and SDSU because I used to live out there and it would be fun to have friends meet me at The Big House.

Was not expecting to see the South Dakota State Jackrabbits mentioned in this thread.

I'm in the same line of thinking, I want a BYU home and home so I can watch our boys destroy them in front of their home crowd!

Indiana ...

As long as it's home-and-home. But my favorites would be:
-Georgia
-Clemson
-Texas
-Notre Dame
-LSU

Texas is already on the schedule in 2024 and 2027, but those games aren't going to happen because Texas is going to jump to the Big Ten when the Big 12 dissolves after the TV contracts are up in 2023.

Tennessee. It'd be a good win against a team that traditionally hasn't been very good.

TN fans are almost as dilusional as ND/State fans. They have no other sports teams to root for. The Titans are 3 hours west in Nashville, the Braves are 3 hours south in the ATL.
They have a high season ticket renewal similar to us. I hope to get to Neyland Stadium this year when we are away.

They might not be a marquee name in college football, but Louisville's another school that Michigan never has played in football. Having Trey Burke act as honorary captain, and having Michigan block a last-second, game-wininng field goal attempt by Louisville would be nice.

Easy road trip and cool stadium. Also would like Pitt to replace Rutgers.

USC
Ole Miss - because I want to tailgate The Grove - and I have some creative signs in mind.
Tenn
Miami

I second Ole Miss because I would like to kick their ass and shut them up like we did with Rutgers last year.

Rutgers.

But, seriously, MIAMI (YTM). We haven't played them in quite a while, they are coming back to prominence, and we would essentially have two home games -- they can never fill their stadium and we would travel en masse to fill it up. Sort of like playing Northwestern.

Both times Miami was ranked #1 and the defending national champion. While the games sold out, as an aftermarket ticket broker back then, I can say the interest in both games was not so great. Prices were less than for a typical (non-MSU/OSU) Big Ten game.
The one big draw in non-con was Notre Dame, every year. That was true for both home and away tickets. I think restarting the ND series does reflect the interest of fans and donors. (This is more a response to the OP than to you.)

UAB, and give them a home & home along with a statement about how we understand that there are other fine football programs in the State of Alabama.
But assuming that is not in the cards, Pitt. Pay back Narduzzi and play a good team in our historic footprint that we have not played before. Beats the hell out of schlepping to New Jersey every other year.

SEC: Bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee
ACC: Clemson, FSU, Miami
PAC12: USC, Stanford
----------------
Washington and VT are on the schedule for 2020 and I hope we keep UW.
Texas, Oklahoma and UCLA are on the schedule later on and those are teams I would have otherwise listed.

Good "exhibition" tuneup game. NCAA always awards a 13th regular season game for teams playing in Honolulu. Would still have a normal 12-game schedule afterwards. Also can be part of Harbaugh's see-the-world campaign for his players.

Pretty much any P-5 home and home would be great IMO.
LSU
Texas
FSU
UT
Auburn
I wouldn't want a Pac-12 team because we have seen most in the Rose Bowls of the past. And please baby jesus no more Jerry World neutral site bullshit.

Actually, it would be wild if we played U of Delaware. Winged Helmets all over the field. Probably see a lot of INTs.

We offer to play Delaware on the condition that they wear those little orange covers over their helmets. Because, come on.
