According to a poster on scout, there are no direct flights from San Antonio to Birmingham. Flight stop in either Atlanta, Dallas, Houston or Detroit.

That would be pretty funny.  Plane lands at DTW.  Tua pulls out his phone to check his messages while Harris stands up and takes his carry-on out of the overhead compartment.  Puts on his backpack & jacket like he's deboarding the plane.

Tua:  "Bro, where you going?"

Harris:  "To school man.  To school.  Sorry about the roommate thing, but at least you'll get a room to yourself this semester.  It's been real man.  Keep in touch.  See you in the CFP."

And then Harris just deboards the plane while Tua looks on slack-jawed.....

Some 400 lb. woman sits down next to Tua where Harris was sitting, squishing him on his 2 hour flight down to Birmingham.  He's too in shock to notice, tries to notify his coaching staff & all the other Bama recruits what just happened, but then the flight attendant forces him to shut off his phone for the duration of the flight.

even by MGoBlog standards. It's almost reaching "coaching search" levels of absurdity. It would be really, REALLY nice if he comes here. Imagine the jubiliation if Peppers returned too. People would be speculating whether next year's team might be better than this year's.

I'm not getting my hopes up on this. Beyond my control.

I hate recruiting so much, yet here I am. Thankfully, though, I don't pay a lot of attention to it. This time of year I sort of do, but the other 10-11 months, I just don't care.

What Tua doesn't know is Najee isn't flying anywhere: he's toting the rock from San Antonio to Ann Arbor where a tall glass of whole milk and a juicy steak await.

enough of the nonsense. One of you MGoBloggers is a capable hacker, just get into the Delta or whatever airline system and check the flight passenger list. Can't believe I'm the only one that's ever thought of this, I'd do it myself, but, I'm only saavy enough to use MGoBlog, and too small for prison. Seriously, put an end to the speculation right now.

To go along with the prior thread, this one should've been titled "Less Positive Najee news from San Antonio."

If you've read all of Tua's comments you know that he's just saying he still thinks Najee is going to Bama, which is exactly what all the Michigan commits think about him coming to Michigan. Both sides are nervous and both think he's coming. This quote isn't new but it is taken out of context. I still think he's coming to Michigan.

I'm clearly no mod, but this place would probably be well served by a single daily Najee Harris snowflakes thread to capture every tea leaf and subsequent celebration or freak out.

Sam Webb is aware of what Tua is saying and still thinks Najee goes to Michigan.  Basically, both sides think they are getting him.  I'd be more confident if we had a specific player saying these things too, but Sam has said that there are Michigan players who think he is going to Michigan but he isn't naming them until after it's all done.  Not saying he is coming, but that he still MAY be coming.

This changes nothing.

This could be a ruse to stem the tide of "going Blue" stories.  Why would his friend give away what Harris was trying to protect?  And you can certainly fly to DTW from Birmingham just as easily as you can drive to Tuscaloosa from there.

If he comes, we have a great back with a great stable of backs.  If he doesn't, we have a great stable of backs.

not great, but not quite as dire:   were “on the same flight,” from San Antonio to Birmingham on Sunday

past tense.
