Hello: Larry Prout

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Harbaugh used that early signing rule to his advantage and picked up the unanimous #1 player out there.

5 star Larry Prout, Jr becomes the first in history to sign with Michigan during the early signing period.

Or life, in general ...

Just watch that clip over and over until you finally get a smile on your face. I promise; it won't take long.

I have had my share of surguries and I wonder why then I hear about kids like Larry & Chad and know I am the fortunate one. Which makes Larry, Chad and all the other unfortunate children the real heroe's who help put all our fortunate lives back in perspective.

My perspective is . I have had four rt hip replacements due to wear and infections. One left hip replacement and a 4x arterial Bipass to boot. No, wait today. I just came home from my hip surgeon to learn I will need both of my knees replaced as soon as the pain is no longer bearable he said I will tell him when.

Well guess what? I am just an amature next to these kids. 90 surgeries are you kidding me. Whats another eye opener is going through that burn unit they have in the UM hospital. My Dad told me a saying (because we weren't the richest spoiled brats in the neighborhood) and it went like this. I cried and cried because I had no shoes until I made a friend who had no feet.

Thank you Larry for coming to UM and being one of the best recruits this team has landed you are a true hero and this team really needs you.

Sometimes this blog and its participants bum me out with all of the negativity during game threads or towards above average signal callers like Speight...

And then along comes a story and a thread like this and it completely redeems the entire community in one, single post. Thank you. Congratulations young man, you are an inspiration.

Posbang to convince you to keep on posting. We need the good ones who aren't negative all the time to stick around or this blog will turn into RCMB, and Brian and Co. don't deserve that. Don't let the negativity keep you from this place my man! There's always something positive around the corner.

Larry's Hudl tape is a little incomplete so I'll fill you all in; low 4's 40 time (zero fakes), excellent pad level, football I.Q.- off the charts. Impressive motor, never quits on a play. Welcome Mr. Prout!

Insider scouting report:  This kid has all the intangibles, nobody plays with more heart, makes all the players around him better, plays with a toughness never seen before, has the ability to adapt to any situation and most importantly has a ceiling that is a mile high.

I know this phrase took a beating a couple of years ago, but it fits here:

This is a real Michigan Man.

Welcome to the family, Larry. GO BLUE!

I think it's a real testament to the state of our program that we are able to sign an elite recruit of this caliber.

Go Blue, Go Coach, and most important GO LARRY!

on a side note, gotta give some credit to john o'korn. He transferred here planning to be the starter. When that didn't go as planned, he took it in stride (as least from the outside looking in). Now, he is participating in things like this, making the program look great, and making the day of this young man. good stuff!
