side note

on a side note, gotta give some credit to john o'korn. He transferred here planning to be the starter. When that didn't go as planned, he took it in stride (as least from the outside looking in). Now, he is participating in things like this, making the program look great, and making the day of this young man. good stuff!

I think they definitly go

I think they definitly go undrafted.  The obsticle is the infrequent use/need of a full back in the NFL.  wish them both the best though!

was anyone else surprised

was anyone else surprised that is was full contact with the QB's?  I liked it personally.  Gets them some real game simulation and is early enough to usually not have injury risk for the regular season.

exactly!  this is a harbaugh type player.  Just a football player who will find a spot on the feild.  And based on the film, has a nasty attitude, which I love

looks like a temp of 49 to start the spring game.  Shouldn't be cold enough to scare off any visiting recruits.  I know there has been some negativity towards the friday night game, but as a student I would have loved this.  I'm sure the players don't mind it as well

I sure hope so because he doesnt seem like the type who retire early on.  imagine 20 years or so of harbaugh!

On a somewhat related note, I've thought about Jay Harbaugh eventually moving on to a head coaching gig down the road.  Imagine a father vs son matchup hypothetically.

I agree.  with their lack of

I agree.  with their lack of size, this could be a game where our big men are actually the advantage.  We also need walton to get out of his current funk if we plan to make any sort of run.

I love Harbaugh's take on

I love Harbaugh's take on this.  players who can perform in multiple sports show that they are athletes rather than just football players.  Goes back to during the summer camps when he had the guys playing dodge ball and fielding fly balls.  Great athletes make great football players.

still amazes me he left

still amazes me he left Wisconsin for Arkansas.  Recruiting against the SEC v.s living in a state known for there cheese...seems like an easy pick for him

variety night

It’s one of those “empty out the various beers in the fridge, while Netflix and hopefully chill” nights.  Starting now with my personal favorite Bell’s Two Hearted.  Then planning to move to a dog fish 90 minute to start a nice weekend buzz.  After that, the wife should be home, so it’s finally time for the finale of Narcos , which I think is an appropriate time to transition to a little crown on the rocks.

I love harbaugh, but using an

I love harbaugh, but using an enitre day on an autograph would be tough for me

it's

gotta be the chicken broccoli bake again

disagree

Comparing the dirty tactics of basketball recruitment to what Harbaugh is doing isn't justified. Currently, he has done nothing against NCAA rules. And just because Harbaugh may acquire his class by dropping some 3 stars who have been "committed" for months, that doesn't mean the eventual 4 and 5 stars on the team won't be "kids who do well in school and in life" as you said. That's an unfair assumption.

As for JB, I think he is a fantastic coach, but like you said he's missed on many top recruits. Besides flipping a gem from Penn state in Burke, and his one excellent class of Mcgary, GR3, and Nik, he's mainly been average in recruitment. He makes up for that with coaching his players up, and averages out to being a 8-10 seed that will typically win a game or two in the tourney. As much as it would be nice to be in the national conversation yearly, that won't possible with their typical talent, and I'm okay with that because that is generally how I regard Michigan basketball as a whole. However, I cannot settle like that when it comes to Michigan football. Historically, it just feels different, and needs to employ the same recruiting strategies the elite teams do to consistently be in competition for a national title. 10-11 wins seems like settling, especially when we have a coach who can take the team to the next level, all without breaking a single rule

Why don't

these stories get published about the schools that cut kids after NSD?  that seems like a much bigger story.  In Michigan's situation, at least the kids have another place to land before anything is offical

The problem is

The majority of Michigan fans want the best of both worlds. In the current era, it is impossible to compete at the national level, while still having a squeaky clean image in recruitment. Now, by no means am I suggesting anything be done against rules that could result in punishment, but if we want to consistently complete with the likes of Bama, OSU, etc. these current tactics will have to continue, and I'm all for it. 10-3 was nice, but we finally have a coach who is willing to take the program back to the next level.

One thing that is unfair in the social media age is how these kids can voice their side in a matter of seconds, but the school is forbidden to comment. I do feel bad for the kids, but within the current system, nothing is official until NSD.

I think he'll flip

Two days ago he retweeted an account that posted their projected recruiting class for michigan...he wasn't on it.  not a good sign

Denard

While a sophmore, I ran into Denard on a visit.  As expected, he couldn't have been more friendly.  We even joked about racing in a 40...it didn't happen, but I think it would have been close
