Alex, it's been a true pleasure. You are very talented and a joy to read. Look forward to many more years of your excellent work.

What a year...

Great job on the write up…

Great job on the write up for both mailbags

Didn't we sign Hudson Hollenbeck Miss St's punter, in the portal?

Are we assuming Doman gets the starting gig over Hollenbeck?

If it ends up being Hollenbeck, does that change the prognosis?

Thanks for the great write…

Thanks for the great write up

Your analysis is always very informative.

Agree that portal world makes protection futile, but seems like this kid will be at least a solid piece... For somebody.

O'Leary is king of spring. Honorable mention to Benny Hall (ya gotta...), and to Jake "Spring" Thaw, for catching a TD, and being named Thaw

We shouldn't have to sweat this iowa team, so why can't I stop sweating?

Moment of Zen, awesome

Don't know if you just starting clipping plays in the PbP table, but that's a great idea.

Did i miss defensive ufr? Isn't it usually 2nd, and Mr worldwide at the end of DUFR?

Great work Seth

Well considered, and well…

Well considered, and well written as always.

I am really over the boo birds, but they are especially galling when we have a solid team to get behind here, with extremely likeable kids.

I've been a diehard fan since 69 osu, and am a 3rd generation grad. Jim is OUR guy. He loves the school and tradition as much as any of us. He's tried every conceivable switch of schemes and coaches to get the right mix to win, and it feels close and sustainable now. I left this game feeling BETTER about our chances against OSU than I started.

Sit back and watch the show, people, and yell like hell for YOUR guys, not at them.

Bronx, I really appreciate your effort to bring out calmer heads. I'll be looking forward to the rest of your analysis on what feels like a potentially memorable season.

Welcome back dude-man

F-ing gypsy...

Ronnie showed NFL talent Saturday. The way that kid works he'll get back to the same level when he returns

Easy kid to root for.

Our other wideouts will step up. Team felt good Saturday.

Go Ronnie and go blue

My dad graduated in 49 and…

My dad graduated in 49 and died in 93, the year my first son was born. That I would even compare my misgivings over dad not seeing the natty with not seeing his grandson should tell how rational I am about Michigan sports.

The journey from one 500 season in 50 years to where we are now has not been pleasant, and thanks to you I've come through it to a place where I love and understand Michigan even more than when I was standing next to dad in section 20 at the big House. That ain't nothing. I also have sons that love it as much as I do, without having attended, also partly thanks to you.

I thank you for that, and would always be grateful, even if you never write another word. I will further cherish every additional word you can muster, but do not risk your health for that. Take care of yourself.  I and most of my friends here will be right here,  whenever and if ever you return.

Godspeed, man.

Is anyone else seeing…

Is anyone else seeing Muppets for Dugs clip on the front page version of this article? (Its correct on the full version)

If so, would Muppets for an uncommitted croot be considered premature?

Either way... MOAR MUPPETS

Juwan seems to be what we…

Juwan seems to be what we thought we were getting when Jim arrived.

An awesome extension of tradition,  and great success.

Unlike many i still have hope for Jim's program,  but it is nice to have this team to support in the meantime.

Go blue!

"Spider" Brooks. Calling it right now...

The subtle humor on this blog sustains me through the inevitable dong punches that come when you love anything as much as I love Michigan.

Thanks for the great write up.

Based on your review,  how do you think he stacks up to his recruiting rankings?

What current or former player would be a good analog?

ONIONS!!!! ONIONS!!!!
ONIONS!!!! ONIONS!!!!
Great Column

You do an excellent job with this column, and this was one of your best.

You celebrated what was accomplished this year, and gave a healthy dose of realism for what wasn't.

I committed myself to have moderate expectations for this young group, and for the most part maintained that, but it still disappoints to see underperformance, and there was some of that. I think the future is very bright, but there is work to be done. I have no doubt our team and staff are attacking it with an EUTM, and we'll get there.

Enjoy your offseason, and thanks for your effort to write the column. I have always enjoyed and looked forward to it.

Go Blue!

Overall impressed Overall impressed with the level of play in this game. General impression was a significant improvement over last year in the spring. Fewer obviously busted assignments, and good plays being made on both sides of the ball. Offensive line was far from perfect, but there were some plays where I felt the line made the difference, particularly Higdons last td. While I'm not ready to pile on Speight, I do think that based on today we'll have a healthy qb competition in fall camp, and that bodes well for whoever ends up starting.
Wait...Rutgers is ranked in Wait...Rutgers is ranked in something? Other than false rivalry hope? Dang...
Great get!!!!

I think it's a real testament to the state of our program that we are able to sign an elite recruit of this caliber.

Go Blue, Go Coach, and most important GO LARRY!

Hammering Pandas

If we don't have students in Panda costumes in the stands for the Illinois game, I will lose my faith in humanity.

That is freaking hysterical. Well done Ace and Smoothitron...

Really useful post

This is a really useful post. Promote to Diaries?

I would like to see DSR on the chart, too.

A few struggles with accuracy against CU and Penn St, and risky throws against Wisky don't outweigh his excellent pocket presence, and overall results. As his comfort level returned post the hit vs Colorado he has continued to develop his response to pressure, with some mixed results play to play, but overall positive results as far as protecting the ball are concerned, as well as being able to move it.

We can live with this, and it will probably continue to improve. After watching OSU founder against TEAMCHAOS yesterday, I'm starting to believe this UM team, with this QB on his current trajectory, will win in Columbus. I still feel like I'm on a very high precipice believing that, but I'm there.

The coming weeks will confirm or deny my delusion.

HBU #10

I couldn't look at the kid in the pic behind "Bull in China Shop on Fast Break" (#10 PG for Houston Baptist), without thinking "You can run with these guys ten! You got 3 times the steak. That's what a man eats!". "Hurricane Ten is gonna make it rain", and he did, with two threes on the game I believe.

The look on that kid's face in the pic is classic, and was pretty much the same look I had on my face, watching McGary steam in for that finger roll.

They are fun to watch, even if the results so far are a little uneven, which, really to be expected with McGary's injury.

Go Blue.

Drake Harris? What's going on with Drake Harris? is he waffling?I don't remember seeing anythiw the blogs on that. Say it ain't so... I was so looking forward to Harris and Campbell as a starting wideout duo.
Wat Foul?

I am the only person out here who feels SCREWED?

Yeah, I get the dREB sucked.

Yeah, I get that you don't miss free throws at the end of games.

I know that a lot of things went on in this game other than that call.

But Watford's foul was INTENTIONAL. 2 and the ball. Game over. They even looked at the VIDEO, and blew the call. How? For the love of god, how?

I'm not seeing this feeling on the blogs, and I didn't have enough kittens around to watch the high(sic)lights on SportsCenter, to hear the commentary.

Am I wrong? Was that not an intentional foul?

Still think that there was a lot of goodness here. The supporting cast stepped up. We made plays. Indiana is pretty good at basketball, and we most definitely, in several ways, should have won this game, handily, in fact.

I think we are well positioned for the B1G and NCAA tourneys, not for seeding, necessarily, but for how we are playing. I think I'll watch...

Go freaking blue
